Saigon Pho

The ambiance is a wide-open white linen tablecloth dining room with a dancehall and stage to the right. The room is made cheerful Viet-Pop music playing softly in the background.The food is excellent: the pho broth was so good. Warm bone broth with fresh bean sprouts, basil and lime. Very traditional flavors.The service is fast and easy. The young ladies who served us were very sweet.A table of Vietnamese men took court at a round table speaking at a low volume, plants and flowering trees allow you for however momently forget where you are in the world. Thanks a meal and cultural enrichment.We will be back!

Overall review: 7.8/10Very large inside space for hosting all kinds of quantities if guests. They also have a stage where I assume they have Vietnamese karaoke parties here from time to time. We had a server who wasn't Vietnamese take our order and take care of us mostly, however the girl who brought us our food (or should I say.. took the food off of the robot who got to our table) was definitely Vietnamese. Yes, this place does have robots that bring you food from the kitchen. Definitely did not expect that from a more hole-in-the wall type place such as this one.Onto the food: Egg Roll: Rating: 6.5/10Subpar, incorporated several Ingredients. Greasy. The ratio between the meat and vegetables was disappointing. The egg rolls came loosely wrapped resulting in oil accumulating between the fold of the egg roll. This causes air pockets. Clearly, the egg rolls were not wrapped hard enough. They did not drain the oil. They just fried it and served it. Also, traditionally egg rolls are supposed to come with lettuce wrap and pickled veggies. What came to our table was the bare minimum. N26. Beef Stew w/ Egg noodle & rice noodle / Hủ Tiếu Mi Bò Kho Rating: 8/10 Was baseline standard good. It came with all of the fixings on the side such as the herbs. The beef was tender, but there was a lot more tendon than meat. Not a lot of actual beef. The soup itself was well-seasoned, but still lacked a little richness to it. Vermicelli Noodles Salad Bowl:N01. Pork, Pork Patty, & Shrimp paste /Bún đậu mắm tôm, chả chiên, thịt luộc. Rating: 9/10Overall was a solid dish served how it normally would be, with the exception that we did not see the crispy shallots served with it even though it is apart of the description. In fact, the picture of the food on the menu they gave us looks different. We didn't have the little red chili peppers either. The pork patty was delicious. The sauce was well-seasoned. The veggies were fresh. The tofu, patty, and pork slices were well balanced. This was our favorite dish from our meal.

This is my go to place in the city. It is outside of where most of the viet food is but I go out of the way to eat here. Large portions and decent prices especially for the city. Large and clean restaurant with very quick service. Opens earlier than most restaurants.

The food is decent. We ordered the pho and a rice dish with steamed egg and shredded pork skin. The pho was good. It could have used a more flavorful broth. For the rice dish, the pork was great. However, the steamed egg was dry and tough. The menu has a wide variety of food selections, so I would probably order something different next time.The service was decent as well. Our waitress was attentive at first. But by the end of the meal, we had to keep waving at her to ask for the check. The restaurant was pretty empty when we came in, so she wasn't busy with having to focus on other customers. Ambiance is nice and calm. The restaurant is clean, and the tables are well spread apart, so it's not stuffy. When we came, the restaurant was pretty quiet.

I've been spoiled with pho back home before I moved to Chicago because when I started my regular pho search here in my new home area, it's been very disappointing. I have even made pho from scratch so I am very familiar and aware of what it's supposed to taste like. Unfortunately, almost every pho place I tried was a either a let down, weird taste, or just plain bad. To list some of the places I tried are:- Phodega (just awful and broth was very salty)- Tank Noodle (decent pass but not great)- Bon Bon Sandwhiches (should be a criminal offense. Soup was bland and tasteless, noodles were not the right kind and more like flat, thick udon noodles)Saigon Pho is about as close as to a very good and authentic taste you will find that I have gathered from the places I've tried. It seems the farther in the city, River North, the farther the authentic taste becomes.

I had the grilled beef Bahn Mi and it was ok. All the ingredients were fresh but the sandwich lacked flavor. Fast friendly waitstaff.

I have been here once before and wanted to bring back a memory from someone I miss dearly. I love the Oxtail with vermicelli noodles. The broth is so rich and delicious and definitely makes this dish a

Isn't bun bo hue supposed to taste like lemongrass, and NOT just like chicken broth? Someone please inform them.

Great service and good food. I love the clean and spacious restaurant with cute lunar new year decorations. I came here with my husband and had a nice meal. I especially enjoyed their egg rolls and their bun đâu mắm tôm dish and my husband thought their rice dish is okay nothing specular. I would come back for bún đậu mắm tôm. Also, noticed they have a great hot pot selections. I definitely have to come back with a group of people to try their hotpot .

Incredibly nice. I accidentally ordered the wrong thing for delivery, called the restaurant a couple minutes before the driver showed up, explained the problem, and they fixed it for me (despite having already prepared my incorrect order).I was extremely surprised and grateful, wasn't expecting that level of service. Will always order from here when I have a craving for pho.
