i love these guys. husband and i come here all the time, and bring friends too. we're vegan, and the whole last page of the menu is nearly all vegan, so it's a blessing. it's a true family business, and the owners are exceptionally friendly and welcoming. we love saigon and their food!!

First time here after our flight from Minneapolis to Boston. Street parking only. Prices are a little higher than other places we've been to out of MN. Service was prompt. Very small dining area with 8-9 tables. Food was tasty. Dining area is clean.

Happy to stumble upon a tiny little pho place in East Boston. It definitely scratches the itch. For five stars they could have had Vietnamese iced tea and more sauces available like chili oil or fish sauce. Pho is good!

Ordered through Uber eats, wouldn't say it totally satisfied my cravings but not terrible either. The spring roll sauce was a bit bland and the meat in the vermicelli bowl was more charred than I would have liked (more charred on the bottom) and the eggroll was ...not great. I will say the bun bo hue (not pictured) was pretty good! All in all, stick with the soups, not so much the vermicelli bowls.

Sunday late night dinner review: This place had a lot of potential it seems but so many things went wrong. Parking was extremely annoying to find, it was very hot inside because the AC seemed to not be running that much, nobody was there to seat us for awhile, we didn't receive chopsticks (cmon, we're asians coming to eat pho), we settled for water for our drinks and got kirkland water bottles that we had to pay $1.50 for LOL, our 12 dollar "small" pho bowls were probably one of the smallest I've even from. Other than that... pho was decent I guess? Wouldn't come back here again tho lol Food: 5/10 Vibes: 3/10 Service: 4/10 Value: 4/10

Disappointing.Came because of the good reviews and because I craved for a (vegetarian) pho soup.Place is small and cute, but occasionally there's some really bad smell in the restaurant. Waiter didn't give me water (and definitely not green tea lol), and I had to ask for the Basil + sprouts for the soup. I got sprouts only..Soup was OK with have flavor of artificial soup, a lot of rice noodles, and a little bit of steamed veggies and fried tofu (both were made well). I'm still thirsty...

Can I save the world? No. Can I support the only Vietnamese restaurant in East Boston? Yes. Food is solid, service was quick, what else do you want? Your eating Vietnamese food in East Boston, consider yourself lucky.

Drinks: 4.5 starsIf you're already in the area, don't hesitate to stop by for a vietnamese iced coffee, a smoothie with boba, or coconut juice.Food: 1 star (Saturday afternoon takeout)Cha Gio (fried egg rolls): I couldn't even take a bite of the egg rolls as they threw them directly into the takeout container from the fryer, melting the styrofoam on to them. While I can't speak to flavor, they were significantly narrower than I'm used to. When I broke one open, the inside was about half dough, so there's very little filling. Pho Ga (chicken pho): (if you can even call it that) It was in a broth that was probably just unaltered chicken broth from the local supermarket.Ga Chien Xa Ot (lemongrass chicken): the chicken was dry, flavor was lacking.Pork Banh Mi: the bread was wrong (was on generic hoagie roll, not a vietnamese baguette, so there was no crunch). It had pickled jalapenos(???) There were like five tiny pieces of carrot/daikon. It had soggy lettuce(???) There was no pate. Meat was solid. Was a sandwich, don't think this should be called banh mi.

Had pho ga chicken soupIt was grossDidn't taste like much but warm water with some after taste Chicken was mushy Tea was like warmAlso had lo Meiji. Small portion, not too tastyPlace was cold in March. Maybe they set temperature to 55. Even the waiter was wearing a thick jacketHad been coming here years ago was much better. Owners changed some years ago and it's been going downhill since. Yea used to be free and was pretty good. It's $2 nowOnly reason I came here was famished and was right down the street. Came out with nausea. Not coming back. Too bad it was a great place 20 years ago and great location. It's overpriced garbage unfortunately.

I have tried New Saigon and it was decent so I wanted to try the original location (at least what I was told)The menu is on a table in the front so you look at it when you come in. Try to remember what you want to order later. No menus were given at the table or QR codes. Food: menu is in English only. Not in vietnamese and english. The menu is also quite small. Combination pho: was good. The broth was flavorful. What I expected in a good pho. Banh Mi: is not really your typical Vietnamese baguette. It's basically a small sandwich so honestly I don't think this should be listed under "banh mi". At 7.50 for this sandwich, it doesn't have pate spread in it either. You have the option of tofu, beef, chicken. Looking for typical cold cut? Not here. Overpriced for what it is. Taste wise? Eh. I wouldn't re order. Thai tea: 2$ and was what it was priced at. It was overly sweet. Ambiance: pretty dead. Small location with only a few tables. Good place for a quick pho if you are in the area and don't feel like travelling. Not a place to come with friends to hang out and chat. Overall would I come back? Yes for the pho if in the area and cravings hit. Probably not interested in trying other things.
