A cozy Italian restaurant in downtown Redmond, a decent place for a casual night out with a low key and welcoming unpretentious vibe. The menu featured pasta, entrees, and a long wine list.Pasta was perfectly cooked. Pork saltimbocca has very good flavor, though the loin patties were cooked a tad longer than what I would've preferred. The tiramisu cake was the fave out of the dessert platter.Wine list was ok, with many moderately-priced PacNW choices and a few Italian ones.

Sages to me is an old school Italian place clearly run by owners. The decor wasn't notable but on a Wednesday night the crowd was vibrant and you could tell there were regulars. The menu will have someone for everyone but there are notable absences in my opinion - no pizzas, no lasagna not even traditional spaghetti and meatballs. This is just an FYI in the event you have that picky eater in your group that just wants the classics.I opted for the chicken Gorgonzola which was tasty but with the cream was heavy - wasn't all that Italian to me. I enjoyed it - in fact ate every bit of it but probably wouldn't order it again. She ordered the lobster ravioli and that was a hit - had a hint of sweetness and tanginess - definitely would reorder that - used the leftover bread to soak up the sauce. We split the Greek salad to start and it was more of a tomato and cucumber salad with some olives and onions thrown in but I am not complaining - the tomato's were fresh and the dressing was so flavorful.Ordered a walnut cake to go and had that a few hours later and that was very light and airy - for those like me that require texture with their dessert - this is a hit - would order again.Solid place - 4 stars - price points are reasonable - and I'm a sucker for the small business owner operator since I'm one myself.

I love this place. Authentic Italian, even with hearing it yelled across the BOH, with exceptional food. Came with a friend and we shared the caprese, bread and brownie al la mode. I had the Wife's Favorite for my main, which is penne with sundried tomatoes, grilled chicken and shitakes in a lovely sauce. I also had a Sage's Salad which was wonderful - baby mixed greens, candied walnuts, gorgonzola, craisins with oil and balsamic vinegar. My friend had the chicken gorgonzola and inhaled it.Our waitress was a hoot and moved at the speed of lightning. My only feedback is I was told they had nothing to drink but wine. I don't drink and would appreciate some Sanpellegrino, soda, lemonade, etc.

Food, service and Ambience is really good. One of my favorite Italian place in town. Gnocchi, wife's favorite cheese ravioli are really good. Their tomato soup is a must try

We went here on a date night and while it wasn't bad, it also wasn't terribly memorable or a restaurant I would visit again. We had the Wife's Favorite Pasta, Pork Saltimbocca, Bart's Chicken and Lobster Ravioli. We also ordered an appetizer and a couple salads. The shrimp tower had like 6 prawns. Service was decent except when it got busy, it was difficult getting a second round of drinks. Like I said, it wasn't bad but we would like to try other restaurants before revisiting this one.

I have been to this place a few times in the last decade or so since I live nearby. The place has a great ambiance and offer tasty dishes. Everything we ordered was pretty good but here is the reason why I cannot give the full five stars. - too salty in general. Especially the smoked salmon was too salty to eat. - heavy sauce. Compared to traditional Italian dishes this restaurant tends to use a bit of heavy sauce in general. I can see why locals give 5 stars and while I like this place and would come back occasionally I wouldn't choose this place for traditional Italian cuisine.

Sages had been in my to-go Italian place for a long time now. Finally got a chance to try the place out and I was not disappointed. Although it was a weekend evening, the place was pretty crowded. Luckily I didn't have to wait for too long and was seated under 10 minutes. The Lobster Ravioli was amazing. The same can be said about the "wife's special" which was basically a Pasta served with pink sauce with sundried tomatoes and grilled chicken breasts. Overall top notch dining experience. The ambience doesn't really stand out but the flavor and food does.

It was our third time there. Food was just ok. My gnocchi was kind of hard and the dish was not hot. The other dishes were fine. The worst was the service. This waitress (I suspect she is the owner or manager) was not friendly. She was not too friendly during our previous visits but this time was the worst. She seemed to ignore us and favoured other customers. She never checked on us while we were dining and it was not busy at the restaurant around that time. We are Asians so I wonder if this explains her bad service. We will never come back.
