Woodland Community & Senior Center

We just got home from an event that Yolo Cares put on at the Woodland Community and Senior Center. The center was easy to find. It's right off the 113, North of Davis. Parking was easy, they have 2 large lots. They even have solar panels so you can park in the shade. Soon as you pull in the first few spots were for seniors. We took a spot to the left of the Senior Spots. We walked in the front door. The place looked closed. No one was in the customer service booths. The gates were down on the right so we walked left. We easily found the bathrooms on the left. They were clean and well supplied, except for the first sink, it was out of soap.Once exiting the bathrooms we saw the signed table at the end of the hallway. We walked toward it and were happily greeted by Yolo Cares staff. We were set up in one of the meeting rooms. The room was airy and pleasant. A little on the cool side, but I wore my sweater so it was the perfect Temperature.The technology system worked perfect. The presentation used both the projector for a PowerPoint presentation and the microphone so we could hear them. There was no feedback and the lighting was perfect.Half the room was set up like a classroom and the other half of the room had round tables with chairs around it for lunch. It was the prefect set up.The location was perfect. I'd come back for another event or presentation.

We came here for a High School soccer game, so we only used the field. They had no where for our team to sit, so the girls had to sit on the ground. They have a really small bleacher area, but those aren't close to the soccer field. So bring your chairs. The only bathroom was locked and we were told to go into the community center if we needed to use the bathroom. Once the game was over the community center doors were locked, so no bathrooms for anyone to use.

League basketball is supposed to be fun, Referees 1 in particular is just out of his mind. Power tripping and actually raised his fist and tried to fight me. Don't go here.

I mainly utilize the soccer field for my U8 soccer team but it offers much more. Most of the soccer fields double as softball fields. Man made turf drains extremely well thus providing a year around playing surface. As long there aren't any lightening strikes, the fields are good to go. Lighting is great for foggy or evening games. Restrooms are located at the confluence of the three softball fields as well as a small concessions trailer. Inside the building are many meeting rooms of various sizes as well as an indoor basketball court. It's extremely large and can be rented for private functions. There are also some businesses inside such as the YMCA Wellness Center. Just behind the building is a basketball court. Parking is shared with the dog park that is located on the south side of the building. This parking tho...it can be challenging. When softball and soccer are both going, consider carpooling...seriously. Use of the fields are by permit only, obtainable from the sites front office or the City of Woodland office.

My Daughter loves the program and coach Eddie is great with the kids and very Experienced in teaching the fundamentals.
