I always go here for the fresh Asian vegetables and grocery selection. It's affordable and workers are pretty fast. They recently updated their registers and now take tap pay. Hot food has good banh cuon, bread options, and pork belly, etc.

There is a different vibe here compared to the megastore SF down the street. It seems really focused on Asian market goods without compromise in a good way. Also, they make sandwiches there at an incredible value and they look pretty good, but I have yet to pull the trigger on one. The roast pork looked pretty good and fresh. Since I went on during Chinese New Year there were many exotic things available. I think what I like about this store is they don't try to offer many American type groceries. Mostly everything here has some Chinese writing on it and it makes shopping here a bit of a fun mystery. Also, I've been baking with a lot of Taro or Ube type ingredients and they have frozen Taro available and Ube flavored condensed milk which is phenomenal on pancakes! I would give this store 5 stars but I will have to compare it to other Asian markets in this area.

Ironically I don't come here for groceries, despite it being a supermarket. I come MAINLY for the prepped food in their deli and/or hot food section. You know how we all consider Costco to be the GOAT for their rotisserie chicken? Well I consider Wing Wa to be the GOAT for Cantonese-style roast duck. And I mustn't say that lightly. Their roast duck is the FIRST thing I get when I'm in town. My current city is deprived of good roast duck, and traveling to Sac just for some duck tells us all that it is much worthy coming to Wing Wa for. Stockton Blvd is nearly booked with Asian supermarkets spanning across both sides of the street, many in close proximity of each other. But what makes Wing Wa so different? For one, the ample parking lot leaves you plenty of spots and less likely to get stuck in traffic. I like not having to deal with speed bumps especially during rush hour. The distinct bright blue color makes it hard to miss and it's just sooo easy to tell your family which one to go to by saying "the blue one". And the butcher section is so neat and clean! I find that the meat here is MUCH fresher than other Asian counterparts down the street. There's one other supermarket in close proximity located south of Wing Wa on Stockton Blvd...Unfortunately that one is directly across a cemetary! If you believe in spirits and offering food to the dead, you'll connect the two and see why people frequent Wing Wa for fresh meat instead. Overall, I believe each supermarket is quite distinct and each with varying qualities.Like most people do, we all have favorites when it comes to grocery stores and I pick Wing Wa any day when it comes Asian supermarkets.Area is sketchy yeah, but it shouldn't deter you from coming. It could be said the same for literally all of Stockton Blvd to be honest..

I do not come here often but when I do, it's usually for their "hot food". They carry traditional Chinese, Vietnamese, and Laos/Cambodian entrees and desserts for a reasonable price. It didn't hit me until I realized how unsanitary some of the stuff are considering how many flies are on the food and how they put some of the "hot food" on display without any sort of heating device or screen protection on them. Some of the plastic wraps have holes on them (either from other customers poking it or they did a horrible wrapping job); instead of tossing it out and making a new batch they will continue selling it. I saw photos on a Facebook group with posts that showed maggots and hair in some of the food that was purchased from this particular location. Be alert when they are scanning your items because they overcharged me a few times by double scanning my items and by then time I got home, I'm too far away to get my $ back. They still use the old system where they type in the price instead of scanning it and the items on the receipt doesn't display the specific name of the items you purchased so it's kind of difficult if you ever want a refund/exchange.

This place deserves all the stars it can get and some more. Every Asian kid who grew up in Sacramento has came here and is still coming here as adult or as a parent themselves now. This place holds a very dear place in my heart. Memories of coming here as a child, grabbing my favorite Asian drinks and snacks. Always grabbing there baked goods, lunch to go or their banh mi's. Use to come here for my Pokémon cards also. From the nostalgic weird smell to the loud Chinese workers screaming and the lovely traditional Chinese music playing; I wholeheartedly love this establishment.

One of my favorite Asian Mini-Supermarket to stop by (since college years decades ago) whenever I am in Sacramento and need some pre-packaged Asian hot food or snacks to-go for good prices. Compare to Lee's Sandwiches, Huong-Lan, or other Mama & Papa Asian hot food places, this place has one of the lowest prices. For instance, their pork or Chicken Banh Bao is only $1.65 and they are huge! Banh Bao's at Lee's or Huong-Lan would cost about 3-4 bucks and much smaller in size. Another example is their Spring Rolls (package of 2) is about $3, while other stores would cost 5-6 bucks! However, as some reviews have noted, the place is not well-maintained and looks dirty. Sometimes may see a lot of flies hovering over in the meat/fish department! So yeah, I better be careful with my hot food packages! Hence, my 3-Stars, instead of 4-5 Stars. Since my 1st time here ages ago, nothing much has changed, improved, or renovated! Still the same Ol' Wing Wa back then as it is now.

As someone who's family and themselves come here for the last 10+ years, this place has everything you need. It sells mostly Lao, Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese cruisine but the area the store is located at is very ghetto but lots of gangs and homeless laundering around. This store has amazing Kluangfen, Kunfin, however u spell it and the baked goods and meat is amazing and fresh! The vegetables are very expensive however and usually rotten so would not recommend. Very popular amongst the community and most Asians. The employees are nice and does their job. Good lotto cash out area. There is that old chinese medicine or vegetable smell u get when u are in the store. But overall, very authentic Asian

Let this be the last place you buy ready to go food or fresh produce. Saw a couple of things from here like the spring rolls and the lettuce leaves literally went bad. It was black like its been sitting there for the longest time. The produce is also secretly molded or super old. Bought a few grapes that looked okay and near the middle of it was just a bunch of mold, especially on the strawberries. Nothing is guaranteed to be fresh here. Please be warned.

The security guard here is doing an absolute poor job. I did not get his name but the old man who is barely alive himself told me my service animal is barely alive and there is no animals allowed. How my SERVICE animal aids me is none of his concern and not being allowed in the store due to having a service animal is absurd. Maybe hire a security guard who knows what he's doing and to not degrade people's service animals and them.Im glad to find out that service animals aren't allowed here despite the laws that protect me to save me any future trouble.
