Great venue in Sacramento to see world class musicals in the round. Literally world class talent comes to Sacramento during the Summer months in a state of the art venue with perfect site lines from any seat in the house due to it's unique theater in the round concept. Fully air conditioned, and comfy seats and perfect sound system. So nice to get up front and close to see the shows.

Sacramento's Premiere Dramatic & Musical Theatre Venue!SITREPI have always loved theatre-in-the-round, so when I had the opportunity to go see a musical production here at the Wells Fargo Pavillion ("Pavillion"), I jumped on it.https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/wells-fargo-pavillion-sacramento?select=1zqWYACRgvjRFVYqCtC8EATHE SETUPAnd the Music Circus Subscriber Showcase 2018 was just the ticket to test out the range of the theater's capabilities when I was out with my Drama-Musical Peeps on this evening.THEATRE METRICS* There really isn't a bad seat in the Pavillion - the theatre-in-the-round provides for greater opportunities for people to be close to the stage since seating surrounds the stage, rather than being "tunneled" in one direction from it.https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/wells-fargo-pavillion-sacramento?select_video=_rk25iFx4U56jUjmX9LaIg* The Pavillion amenities are very nice with large bathrooms and concessions available* The Pavillion courtyard is also a very nice gathering point for groups of individuals. * The Pavillion pretty is saddled between Downtown and Midtown, it being right on the corner of 15th & H Streets: this presents an issue with on-street parking since there isn't enough. However, there is a parking structure right along H Street, with it's entrance on 14th Street, and exit on 15th Street. There is also a light-rail station @ 12th & H Streets.THE LOWDOWNThe Pavillion is an excellent theatre to see dramatic and musical productions.

Summers in Sacramento are never complete without the Music Circus at Wells Fargo Pavilion. I can't remember my first show there ever, but my first time as a season ticketholder was the year they did Sound of Music, Gypsy, Sweeney Todd, Swing, My Fair Lady, and Evita. They had other package options too such as 3-show combos, where one year I did The Producers, Annie Get Your Gun, and Miss Saigon. Otherwise, single-show tickets go on sale so many months before show opening. Other shows I've seen here include Annie, Hairspray, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Sister Act, South Pacific...and most recently, Newsies, Singin' in the Rain, and Little Shop of Horrors. The best thing in recent years is the $35 Under 35 Club, where members age 35 and under can get tickets for $35 each. It's too bad I only have a few years left that I can avail of this discount/deal! They also have special events each season for this club -- this year they held a party at De Vere's with bites and drinks and raffle prizes, and sometimes meet and greets after the performances.Since WFP is setup as a stage in the round, every seat is awesome. Seriously, I've sat in the 2nd row and the last row. The action happens onstage but also in the aisles and they have those projector screens now as well. Everything feels up close and personal in an immersive way, and the way the stage can be manipulated is pretty spectacular too. Easy to pickup will-call tickets at the ticket office, prepay city garage parking through ParkingPanda app, the pavilion itself is walking distance to many eating places such as Melting Pot, Sandra Dees, Super Pan, Chandos Cantina. It used to be under an actual circus tent but now is a fully air-conditioned theater with plenty of restrooms, courtyard vendors during intermission ("halftime" for you sports folks) including Gunthers ice cream. They also have fun photo backdrops/step-and-repeats and posters for snapping pics for social media. Wells Fargo Pavilion is my favorite venue for Sacramento national touring shows. Community Center Theater is long overdue for renovation. For smaller productions try Folsom Lake College (Harris Center), 24th Street, Sutter Street, Green Valley Theater, etc.

I have been coming to see Music Circus shows here for the past couple of years. We always have a great time and love the professional theater here! The stage is circular with seats on all sides. There really isn't a bad seat in the house! In the courtyard before music circus shows there is always popcorn, drinks, and other food items for sale. The only downside of this place I'd say is the women's restrooms during intermission. There is always a line that's way too long! I would recommend not drinking anything during shows to avoid having to use the restroom if possible. Overall this is a great venue and I plan on coming back lots more for future Music Circus shows here!

This was my first visit here but it was enjoyable and the cast of Oklahoma was awesome. Enjoying our down time from our national convention this year in Sacramento. The theater is in walking distance.

We were disappointed with the first Music Circus show of the 2019 season which was the musical "Oklahoma." We've seen better high school productions of the show. The pacing was slow and the first act was too long. Some of the cast had acceptable singing voices but some the casting choices were questionable. It was the new "re-imagined" Broadway production in which the leads were all non-Caucasians--except for the villain. The villain (Jud) was cast with a Caucasian male who was depicted to be extra dark and evil (no surprise!). Considering the production was supposed to take place in a small town Oklahoma in the early 1900's, the casting choices were ridiculous and a silly attempt at political correctness. Save your money and go watch the original movie production of "Oklahoma."
