It's been awhile since I last tried Well Season and I must say, I was impressed with the quality! We got a variety of items and each one was cooked to perfection. The seasoning was on point and not salty. The staff were also very helpful and efficient. We ordered multiple items to go and they were ready for pick up as soon as we got there! Overall, Well Season has earned a star from the last time I dined here. Will be coming back for future dim sum cravings!

I've been coming here for years, but this last visit was definitely the worst experience I've had. We paid $300 for a meal that was just terrible. The only things that were good were the shrimp balls, shumai, and salt and pepper wings. Everything else ranged from barely average to really disappointing. The lemon chicken was just awful. I've had it many times before, but this one was a letdown--no sweetness, hardly any lemon flavor, and the chicken tasted stale, both in texture and flavor. It honestly tasted like it had been sitting around for way too long. The pan-fried shrimp noodles weren't great either. The shrimp didn't taste fresh, and the sauce was just bland. The chicken curry with rice was pretty good but for sure not a stand out by any means. We also ordered the black cod prepared ginger scallion style. It was decent; I'll give them credit for cooking the fish perfectly--tender and juicy, just how it should be. But the sauce? Super average and really disappointing. As for service, it's notoriously bad here. I've eaten at Chinese restaurants my whole life, so I'm used to this kind of thing. I'm actually surprised when the waitstaff is nice and attentive. Here, they rush to take your order and serve your food, then pretty much vanish for the rest of your meal. It feels like they can't wait to get you out the door to make room for the next crowd of paying customers. I understand it's a business, but that's just bad vibes man. Overall, this visit was pretty terrible. Plus, the mandatory gratuity just feels like bad business, and I think a lot of other reviewers would agree. To pay $300 for a meal for it to just be outright bad is egregious. I'm seriously thinking of skipping this place from now on. I'm just struggling to find a good Chinese restaurant in the Sacramento area. Back in the Bay, I never had a problem finding excellent Chinese food. If you have any suggestions for hidden gems around here, please let me know! The ambiance is okay--pretty standard decor for a large Chinese restaurant.

We love how easy and convenient it is to book large parties at Well Season. It was such an accommodating & affordable place to book, even for a big party of 30 people. The food here is great, they serve an array of dim sum, vegetables, platters, etc. They just need a safety deposit in cash to hold your reservation, and will reach out to confirm headcount closer to the day of the reservation. They also have a take out banquet option, if you want take out for large orders.

Food here is always amazing! Our usual go to dim sum spot. Service is a hit or miss depending on time and day but this time we came as soon as they opened so we were seated immediately. Looks like a typical dim sum restaurant, has many tables available for both small and large parties but is a bit cramped. Price is about mid range but it really depends on your party size and how much you eat but food is tasty and fresh. We had a party of three and paid around $70 ish (tip is already included).

We frequent this place for family gatherings such as birthdays and holidays. Dim sum and dinners have always been good. Service is great and staff is efficient. It's a large restaurant and can be decorated nicely for a wedding or party.

Our friends took us here for lunch and it was our first time there. We were able to walk in with no wait on a Monday around 1pm. Service was not good at all. Someone sat us down and as for what kind of tea we wanted and then disappeared. I love the fact they still have dim sum carts that go around so you can see what they had to offer. The food we had was good and the best place around the area for dim sum. The dumplings were good and the dim sum cart ladies were nice. Pretty solid authentic Chinese food. I would go back and try some other items they offer.

8/9/2024-Hungry and had a little time to grab something before visiting my relative..Busy but easy to grab a table..Ordered the regular dim sum, plus the gai Lon and soy sauce chow mein-( hard to find at my hometown)..All the food came out hot and tasteful..Had to flag down staff for the bill..Expensive.. $92 ..As I stood in line- there's a big note saying the charges for diners table 2-5 and 6 or more gratuity will be added,,I left a cash tip, but after reading that and speaking to the cashier, I went back and grabbed my cash..Did I get 15-18% worth of service... ??I think I should be the one to decide..All in all food was very satisfying for a loved starved dim sum eater..

We're here for 2 times. One time we came on the weekend, the wait wasn't bad, and we got seated immediately. The other time we came by was on a weekday. The shop wasn't as busy as during the weekend, but they seemed understaffed on a weekday. The service was slow on weekday. The food we ordered was lukewarm. They serve traditional push-cart dim sum and a variety of dim sum. The food is affordable. It's definitely good to come here with a big party. They have their private parking.

I came here with a group and thought the food and service was very good. We weren't there during peak or dim sum, but each dish was flavorful, piping hot and came out at the right times (and not one by one). Our server was very attentive and patient, as we were a lively bunch bordering on chaotic. We had egg drop soup, chicken wings, steamed whole fish, deep fried whole fish, spareribs, fried rice, a lobster noodle dish, pea shoots, water spinach, clams, and duck. My personal favorites were the fried fish, chicken wings (juicy with a mild spice aroma) and noodles from the lobster dish. The clams didn't have that previously frozen taste and were juicy so shoutout on that too. We will definitely return! I want to try dim sum there next time.

I frequent well season a lot. I come for dim sum multiple times a year and I actually had my small wedding dinner there. I will say the service is what you expect of a Chinese restaurant. The service is 7/10 but I know I am going to well season for the food. This is the best and most consistent dimsum place in Elk Grove. Recommend trying but don't expect to be greeted or have your order taken immediately.Dinner is good too!
