I love the papaya salad from here. It's delicious (best in town outside of home in my opinion), the portion is big for the price and is a better value than buying every little ingredient to make papaya salad at home since I only eat it on occasion. For first timers, walk up to the papaya cart in the store and place your order once you catch their attention. Be sure to indicate how many peppers you want. I like mine with 3--big kick but not unbearable. The chili peppers they use are hot! There's typically a little wait but you can shop around in the meantime. Too delicious not to be worth the wait!

Bad customer service at the papaya booth. I went to order just two bags of papaya salad, but they were still working on a big order. Instead of just making me my order so I can be on my way, they were going to have me wait until they finish the big order first. I didn't wait, I left. I was the only person. Be smart. Quickly make your in store customer their order so they're not waiting forever! Especially if it's just one person!

Went into this store with the intention of buying papaya salad and they said that they were no longer making it. I was disappointed but walked away even though it was the sole purpose of going to the store. Literally 5 minutes later a girl Walks up and request papaya... and the lady starts to shred it and make her a fresh batch. Wow!!! I ask the customer if they are making her papaya and the lady behind the counter gestures to her to say no. Lol I was so disgusted at the treatment. I had a few other things I picked up but decided not to purchase them because it made no sense why someone would lie. Let's start with.... you're a second hand grocery store where you can't even be confident when purchasing meats and vegetables because it's not fresh enough. You don't have the customers to buy them like a big grocery store yet you pull something like that. Last time I try to support a small grocery store Anyways, I left and went to SF Supermarket a minute away.

Their papaya salad (medium spicy) is on point! I'm actually craving it as I write this review! The portions were huge and you had so much juice to sip on afterwards. It has the right hint of spice, crab sauce, fish sauce and so forth. I would come back just for this.Besides the fresh and delicious papaya salad, they have the typical Asian market items. What makes this place stand out a bit is that they also have a good selection of Lao and Hmong food. I bought two packs of frozen Lao/Hmong sausages and they were absolutely delicious.

They have good papaya salad here. A good selection of tropical fruits and bakery options. Got 2 of their rice rolls and it wasn't cooked all the way. Pretty disappointing as I really miss eating these. Boo!

Authentic hmong grocery store. What struck me when I walked in was how compact everything was displayed. There were only about 7-8 aisles in the whole store, but it had pretty much everything someone would need or look for in a grocery store. The produce was not stacked high like I am used to in other groceries, but rather pre-packaged in plastic bags and laid on counters. The papaya is the best here, better than restaurants, and it's ALWAYS made fresh.People at the registers did not seem professional, but rather more like friends of the owners.

The papaya salad here is good however, it depends on who is making the papaya and that is why I gave them 3 stars. The only issue I have is that I don't like sugar in my papaya salad and no matter how many times I tell these ladies no sugar they make my papaya even sweeter. Don't forget to taste what they make before walking away. There is one lady, her papaya is the best but she hasn't been there. I think she is the owner sister, she is younger but looks just like the lady owner there. I haven't seen her in a while. Best papaya service from her, she listens to her customers. Kudos to her. For the other foods that they sell, best time is in the morning. The food sits for a while, you can just tell by looking. But this is every Hmong store. Eat at your own risk. But the papaya though made fresh and taste great depending on who is making it.

Rude staff with a lack in customer service. Seems like they were forced to work. They do not deserve my money and time as much as I want to support my Hmong folks in the business industry. I shop here a few times a year and it's only because my mom asked of me to, so she can collect my receipts otherwise I would not step foot here. I would prefer driving down a few blocks and shop at the Chinese markets and get my papaya salad at L&L video or pure water on meadow view.
