I door dashed this restaurant and went in today for lunch. Both timesDELICIOUS! This is speaking as a fellow southeast Asian! On door dash i ordered: khao poon, stuff chicken, and papaya. The flavor for the khao poon was there. It isn't coconutty like most restaurants try to do to water down the flavors of most Lao households. The papaya Lao style was great both in the restaurant and on door dash, my only complaint per door dash is portion (so small!). The stuff chicken was good too, and it isn't a frequent dish i order. Just craving it that day. In the restaurant we had papaya salad again, steak and sauce, and lao sausage. The steak and sauce...omg gotta have!! The jaew som (green sauce pictured) was a little sweet. Prefer sour and more spicy, but it is a restaurant and i understand it has to cater to different palates. The sausage was good but i prefer SPICIER. Service was quick and friendly. Located in an older plaza but the neighborhood isnt too sketch! I would recommend!

I reallllly like this place. I work about 7min away. Pretty hard to find because they're doing construction in the entrance so not the most appeasing on the eyes but the inside is a small little ma and pa shop and the food is what's important here! Service is always great here so that's a plus. The beef noodle soup was delicious! Soup base has a bit of spice and a kick which I like but is just filled with citrus flavors! The Lao sausage is the most flavorful sausage I've ever had. It's a bit dry but it's so tasty..loaded with herbs, pork, and flavor. Red curry and garlic pork plate was super tasty as well and although it looks heavy, it wasn't greasy. Egg rolls I could pass on- nothing special there. On a scale of 10 is absolutely amazing:Lao Sausages 8/10 really goodBeef noodle soup 8/10Red Curry and Garlic Pork 7/10 pretty goodEgg rolls 6/10 not bad

When I worked in Davis, my company sometimes ordered catered lunch trays from Vientiane (pickup) such as papaya salad, larb, curries, noodles, rolls, and entrees for the entire site (~120 people) once every few months. There is construction going on for the whole complex behind the Chevron station and scaffolding, but parking spots are still available across the lot and the front door entrance is accessible (look for the business name on the doors since their main signage is obscured).I've worked in West Sac since 2019 and only finally dined in person for the first time today! Party of 9, put enough tables and chairs together to make it work longwise. Their decor was very fun (neon signage, floral wall). What we ordered:3 Khao Soy1 Red Curry & Garlic Pork1 Pad Si Ew with Fried Egg1 Drunken Noodles with Fried Egg1 Pork Eggplant 1 Jasmine Rice2 Pineapple Pork Fried Rice1 Thai Coffee2 Thai TeaI got the Khaosoy (Menu item #11) - beef noodle soup with wide rice noodles, ground pork meatballs, and shrimp; topped with cabbage, bean sprouts, cilantro, and green onions. I'd only had a version of this dish (Khao Soi) a few times before at Kin Thai Eatery in Sacramento, not sure how common or well-executed/authentic it is to find. The bowl was big, not overly spicy at all, with at least two shrimp and generous meatballs. The wide rice noodles were so good, super freshly made, soft/tender and just perfect for every bite! Zero regrets about ordering this delicious dish. I also got a Thai Tea to round out the meal, this was great too. Paid with card (Clover ATM processing fee) and 18% gratuity included for parties of 5 or more. I believe there is a discount if you pay with cash. Our table also got our photo taken for the wall (Instax/Polaroid) which was fun.

One of the best spots for Lao and Thai food! I'd never been here before, but my friends are regulars and recommended it for dinner. We had a party of seven and were seated promptly. Our server (young female) was super friendly and she recommended the top favorites on the menu. Our table ordered the Vientiane Tower ($53.99) which includes a little of every appetizer plus some others ordering Khaopoon ($13.95) and Khaosoy ($13.95).The food was served quickly, and we enjoyed the tower's presentation. Although everything was fresh and excellent, I wished they had supplied more food for the money we spent. I did not sample any of the noodle soup meals, but my friends stated they were really tasty.Overall, I would return to try their other menu options. They serve a range of Lao and Thai cuisine that would satisfy anyone's appetite. There is plenty of seating inside, and the wide windows provide plenty of natural light. Plan accordingly because parking is shared with other places and can be inconvenient on busy nights.

weekday dinner stop in west sacramento...thai/laotian restaurant...difficult to find because there is a lot of construction outside the building on 2/2025 visit...no signs...if you see a building completely covered by scaffolding, you are at the right place...need to get closer to figure out which space is vientiane...inside is fine with no construction...2 adults and 1 child seated promptly...menu provided and browsing...deciding on the lao sausages $10.95, red curry and garlic pork plate $12.99 and a khao soy (beef noodle soup) $13.95...prices are quite reasonable...sausages arriving first and getting 3 thumb sized sausages with a sauce....the flavors of the lemongrass, herbs and spices is what makes the sausages unique and packed with flavor...the sauce is also delicious....the beef noodle soup was also good and contained plenty of wide flat noodles...loaded with ground pork and meatballs, and topped with julienned cabbage...again, very flavorful and rich...red curry and garlic pork was also good..pork was cooked a bit dry, but daughter still enjoyed the flavor from thr marinade...red curry was good also...perfect with the rice....the meal was flavor packed and good at a bargain price...

Pretty solid Thai/Laotian food in an unassuming strip mall kind of spot. Came here for lunch and tried out a couple things.Lao sausage: A-This was delicious. If you haven't had lao sausage before, give it a try. They're a little sweet and have herbs, plus a nice sauce to go along with it. I could eat these nonstop!Khao poon: B-This is a vermicelli curry soup. The broth is quite tasty but I found that the noodles and the chicken don't really absorb the flavor.Pretty good prices for the portion, perfect for a quick lunch.

We ordered the tower with a beer. We asked for extra sauce but they said it would be an extra charge. Condiments should be free? I mean, we get free salsa at Mexican restaurants. I feel like that coulda been a nice gesture on the restaurant's side, but whatever. Food was okay. The sausage was good but I would have enjoyed chopped up meat instead of pasty meat like meatball meat. Chicken laab wasn't that good. A little dry since it's chicken breast and too much herbs.

Found this place on Instagram. My cousin and I were in town for a wedding and chose this place to try. It's a cute little restaurant. Kind of a whole in the wall.Food was good. We had papaya salad and lao sausage for appetizers. I got the garlic pork, red curry, and rice. My cousin got the khao soy noodle soup. Soup broth was flavorful. Didn't really have to add much besides the chili oil for extra spice.Wait staff/service was good. Everyone was quick and attentive. Overall, would recommend if you're in the area.

WHY WE WENT HERE:- dinnerTHE LOOK (FROM THE OUTSIDE):- located in a plaza off Jefferson Blvd, closest to the Webster St cross street- entrance to plaza is in between Kabab Corner and Chevron gas station THE LOOK (FROM THE INSIDE):- renovated modern; the look of a lot of boba spots now with the faux grass accent wallTHE MENU:- appetizers- salads- soups- rice plates- entrees- pan-fried noodles- fried rice- curry- desserts- drinks- sidesWHAT WE ORDERED:- 1. Chicken Satay- 5. Stuffed Chicken Wings- 14. Red Curry with Garlic Pork Plate- 21. Steak and Sauce- Thai TeaTHE TASTE:- 1. Chicken Satay - chicken was plain, color from turmeric, somewhat dry, peanut sauce felt like it was missing something- 5. Stuffed Chicken Wings - a hit; definitely for 2 people and not if you have a bigger party- 14. Red Curry with Garlic Pork Plate - red curry was spicy, garlic pork was a little overcooked- 21. Steak and Sauce - Laotian chimichurri was spicy, overall a solid entree- Thai Tea - tasty and refreshingCUSTOMER SERVICE:- our server didn't write down our order and forgot several things; gave us our drinks SUPER late (after we started getting our appetizers) and gave my SO the wrong beer, then comped it and gave him the correct one; for my red curry with garlic pork plate she forgot my egg and once it was provided to me it was overcooked

I love this little restaurant. It's cute and inviting and authentic. The staff are kind and you can either order to go or sit down. I often get them when I am getting my nails done next door. My favorite food items are: Yellow Curry (5/5 stars) carrots & potatoes (i add chicken) is a soup texture with coconut milk and so deliciousChicken Sayay (3/4 stars) a little dry but the peanut & pickled cucumber and carrot sauces are amazing.
