We stopped by Vic's Café on a whim while passing through. Their breakfast menu is simple, featuring items you could easily make at home but might be too lazy to. I ordered the salmon bagel and added eggs, while my husband had the croissant breakfast sandwich. The food was good--nothing extraordinary, but certainly not bad either. My husband ordered tea, and I got a matcha. We both appreciated the presentation of the drinks, and I really enjoyed my matcha.Overall, it's a cute little spot with a friendly staff. We'll definitely be returning.

Around the left black-and-white awning corner of Vic's Ice Cream is a little cafe space. Inside the rectangular space wrapped by photograph-hanging walls are a few tables to the left, a counter that lines the left wall and front window, and the main ordering area where a few pastries are on display, coffee/espresso machines sit in the back, and an open space of counter will soon hold readily-prepped food. I decided simply on a cup of Americano with room and a lemon poppyseed scone. Unfortunately, this was a rough first visit. The espresso, though watered down as per the Americano description, had a predominately burned taste that was partially remedied by milk and sugar. I would usually go and describe it a bit, but this was a bitter brew. The scone didn't fair any better. At first, I thought the scone was simply dense as most are. But immediately biting into it made my brain conjure up the words "dry and stale". While the lemony taste was there, it just needed to be sent back to its time earlier in the day. I tried to see if a quick reheat would do anything, to which it softened it up a bit, but it didn't cure the overall issue. I hope this was just a hiccup as a quick look around saw families and groups thoroughly enjoying their food and reviews are glowing. Plus the ice cream portion is always a hit personally. It'll get a 'fine' 3 but I'm hoping this is temporary and will go only higher.

This cafe is the ideal spot for some warmth, good coffee, tasty food and chill vibes. The staff is incredibly friendly and prompt. The cafe is clean, with a comfortable couch and several tables to sit at. I enjoy the anti-hipster-ness of the cafe. It's not trying to be ultra hip, it's just a comfortable cafe you can rely on serving you a tasty cup of coffee with a smile.

I've been here several times because I only live 2 blocks away for the past 42 years. This time, I came to meet my minister at Vic's Cafe to have a little chat. Because i haven't seen my minister in a couple years, I asked the employee while he wasn't busy to take our picture with my phone. He said No, he can't! I was disappointed. That's the first time I've ever had that happen to me. Even at Nordstrom Cafe, when the waiter has a minute, he'll come back to take the picture.I was disappointed that the employees didn't come out to clean off tables, as they became available. I Love their Chai Latte, otherwise I'd think twice before coming back.

This location is convenient and I like to support local small business, but the prices are high for the food and drinks. I've tried to also give this cafe multiple attempts on the quality of their coffee beverages, but they always come up short. The espresso is inconsistent and tastes burnt/left to die before adding it to the milk/cup. I also request and pay for soy/almond milk due to my lactose allergy, and many times it is not made with it. Please raise the standards of the quality of drinks and baristas here! It's such a shame for the location, the Vic's name and the Land Park community.

Great Coffee Stop South Of The GridSITREPThere are times when I'm actually heading south of the SacTown grid (to do some shopping, "Hello, Oto's!"), and sometimes I'll just bypass my usual stops at Weatherstone (2 blocks away from my home), Temple (4 blocks from my P.O. Box) or any number of Starbucks, and make a beeline to Vic's Cafe.THE SETUPMy yelper buddy Johnna turned me on to this stop and I've been a fan since. MY FAVORITETheir sugar free Hot Mocha's are da bomb, and just what I need to perk me up for an hour of Asian Store Shopping. At only $4.50, you can't beat the quality of their mocha, and throw in a $2.25 chocolate chip cookie and I'm set. [And definitely getting my chocolate at this point!]THE LOWDOWNGreat stop for coffee & treats when heading into the Sacramento "Southlands" ;)

today was a sad day for me at Vic's. Only my second time here and I brought a few of my students here at lunch on a Saturday. We ordered multiple coffees, ice cream from next door, and even some food as well within our group. All of a sudden a young girl with black long curly hair delivered our avocado toast and then turns to one of my high school kids and says "if you're not going to buy anything then you need to leave". She was so confused she looked over at me and the girl very rudely says to her again even louder that she needs to leave. She's looking at me trying to figure out what to say and I just responded okay we will go then. She was snacking on her own food while all of us paid for items from the cafe and shop. If there was an issue I think there is many other ways to go about it but her attitude was extremely off putting and disrespectful. On our way out we were questioning why she acted in such a way and other customers were leaving and telling us they thought it was rude as well. I like their coffee and I love to support a local business but it will be hard to come back after this really bad experience. Ice cream 10/10, customer service ZEROOOO.

A very neighborhood oriented cafe connected to an excellent ice cream shop.At a time when food can be ordered on a tablet without ever speaking to the staff directly across the counter, Vic's Cafe is a refreshing reminder of a kinder, more sympathetic, customer-oriented time. Every customer gets a kind greeting, with a "no problem.." or a "we can do that..." or "...I really like your ...". A great selection of made to order menu items with pastries from Ol' Soul. It's always great to see a smile from the local kids when they are treated by the staff as "real" people with interests. There is no better place to get a 12oz Double-Shot Temple Bean Latte for $5.25 or a Cap for $4.50!!!Everything is brought to the table with a courteous smile. Unfortunately the cafe is open only from 7-2 Tu-Sun, so no late night sessions.Ask them about their personal playlists...
