Came here one Saturday afternoon with my family, and overall, it was a pretty underwhelming experience for the price. The location itself was in a warehouse near the train tracks, which didn't exactly scream "immersive art exhibit." While the projections of Van Gogh's works were nice to see, they weren't world-class quality. It honestly felt more like a school show rather than something worth planning a whole day around. There's not much to do except read the displays, take pictures, and browse the souvenir shop (which, of course, is overpriced). If you're coming here with kids, they'll probably enjoy it, as my son did, but for adults, it's a one-and-done kind of deal. It's very much one of those "Instagramable" places that relies on gimmicks to pull you in, so you can say you've been. If you're looking for a deeper experience, I'd recommend spending your money elsewhere.I did learn a couple of new things about Van Gogh, but honestly, I probably could've found those details online... Once you've been, there's no reason to come back. Save your money unless you're bringing little ones.

Definitely a unique, enjoyable, one and done experience.I went on a Monday at opening. I was a bit annoyed they opened 10 minutes late. Thankfully I chose 10am when the weather is still tolerable so it was fine waiting outside. I found free street parking and walked over. $15 for parking is a bit much without even an option to self-park. I've never been a fan of valet parking. Before reaching the big immersion room its like a musuem with paintings on the walls with Van Gogh's history and descriptions to read. A group ahead of us had a few small kids that were pretty disruptive. They were loud, running around, crawling and rolling on the floor. Not the greatest event for energetic children imo. Thankfully they didn't stay too long in the immersion room so I was able to enjoy without distraction. I thought the immersion room was super relaxing just sitting there taking in the beautiful moving artwork and music. I recommend paying the $5 for the VR it was pretty cool! (Even though I think that should've been included)Overall felt like I paid more than what it was worth but I'm not mad at the experience. I think it was great for something different to do but feel like it's one of those just need to try only once type of activity.

I was a bit underwhelmed with this to be honest. My dad mentioned wanting to go to this so I took him for an early birthday present. Walked around and saw all the replica pictures and read some interesting things about Van Gogh I never knew. Went into the Immersion Room and while it was pretty, it wasn't what we expected. Sat on the bench seats and the projector lights were blinding so we had to look in another direction. Then someone just stood in the middle of the room walking around which was rude and blocked the view. After the projection thing was over, it takes you to an area to color (yes with crayons) and then they try and get you to pay an extra $5.00 for virtual reality. After that, you're forced to walk in the gift shop with ridiculously overpriced stuff. Imagine getting off a ride at Disneyland and wham, you're in the gift shop. Same thing here. Overall it was just meh! Ridiculously overpriced - I paid $88.00 for the 2 of us. Maybe worth $10.00 a ticket.

Glad that we decided to go! Great experience. Large space that made it easy to enjoy the walking around. The immersive room at the end was worth it. The immersive show was beautifully put together and we learned so much about Van Gogh that we didn't know, so we left feeling enriched.

Expensive but worth it.We went to this in New Orleans in October and were blown away so invited my sister in law and her husband for a day out to see this in Sacramento. They loved it but I have to say we were a bit disappointed as the main draw is the immersive room where one sits, or lies, in a large room to view a montage of images and hear quotes from the artist all set to moody music.Unlike New Orleans the room was not "domed" so there was not projection on a ceiling, just the four large walls and the presentation was edited to cut out some of the "chapters" promised on the explanation wall prior to entering. There was no train effect as in New Orleans or animated crabs scuttling across paintings so a bit more disjointed.Still worth it though, especially the optional Virtual Reality experience which is very very well done and worth the additional five dollars. At the end you exit through a gift shop where items are surprisingly affordable as in New Orleans. There should be some notification if one is not getting a "full" experience as in New Orleans.4 hours of driving on a nice day to get there and back and a very nice lunch at Bangkok@12 downtown made for a nice day capped off with a bottle of champagne at Gloria Ferrer on the way home.

We bought tickets for Beyond Van Gogh & accidentally came to this location. We didn't know there was two different ones. The female at the front told us she'll give us a "good price" & that they have way more rooms & a better experience than the Beyond Van Gogh experience. We took her word for it & since we were already there so we gave it a shot. Overall it was a nice experience but I think they could have done a lot more. The price you pay around $70 for 2 people doesn't really live up to the show. This is aimed more towards kids in my opinion. We ended up going to the Beyond Van Gogh experience another day at the convention center & it was a lot better. Def recommend checking that one out.

I will say, paying for parking was a little ridiculous. But the experience itself was beautiful! My daughter absolutely loved it!

First off just seeing how much detail they put into the front of the building is 5 stars right there. This must have taken a lot of time to do. Kudos to the talented painter. Second the building was COLD so on a hot day in sac this is the place to be! The museum was well worth it. The technology behind the immersive room I've never seen anything like it. Pro tip stay for 2 showings it's totally worth it. Underrated room, the one where you draw! I drew for a good 30 minutes and let my art hang on the wall in their FOR-EV-ER. Staff is great. The exhibit is awesome and let me just say that gift shop, you won't leave empty handed there something for all! You all better van GOgh!!

Scam. Smells like actual feet inside. A ton of money to look at low res projections of random paintings. Skip it.

I was skeptical about buying tickets, because of how expensive tickets were if it would be worth it or not. I honestly didn't have high hopes with the price I paid for tickets. If we're talking $25 a ticket worth it but $44 a ticket for this is not worth it. You can just see images here & save your money! Spent 30 mins because not much to see.
