I happened to stop by soon after this location opened to try their boba and shaved ice (which I still need to go back for), and they were closed. Then I saw they were closed for afternoon tea, reservation only (they make the food before tea starts, so they need to have an accurate head count, and you will be charged if you are a no-show), and knew I needed to come back for that.Afternoon tea was wonderful, and the place is so pretty. The crumpet was incredible and a nice addition to the typical tea. We also got lucky in that we had the queen's tea, but someone else who had the royal tea was a no-show, so they had enough leftover ingredients to give us the salad that comes with the royal tea to try. I personally don't like vinaigrette, so while I would get the royal tea next time to get the salad, I would ask for it without the vinaigrette. They also have a wide variety of tea here, so you can have traditional black or green tea, or you can have something more fun like a cotton candy tea. My only complaint was that there was no jam or cream for the scones, just the crumpets, so I would recommend adding that (maybe even serving the two together so you know to split your cream and jam and just slightly increasing the servings). I definitely recommend checking out and supporting their afternoon tea venture, and I look forward to returning both for their usual offerings as well as for tea again.

I will start this review with my final thoughts. This conclusion encompasses our overall experience from the website to the check l will not be visiting Vampire Penguin Folsom again. This is a great concept and great attempt however, at a price tag of 166.76 for tea for 3. The Royal Tea, Princess Tea and a Children's Tea I would expect a lot more. A private area for parties, a clean bathroom, friendly staff, better tasting food, feeling welcomed. Afterall that is the experience I paid for. I was hoping to bring someone here for a birthday next month. I will definitely go elsewhere.Pros-The seating area was clean.The tables were set up nicely with everything girly.The attention to detail in the design scheme.Beautiful pastels.The food was presented nicely everything looked so beautiful and appetizing.The tea service was nice, great tea selections.Cons-The website does not provide a confirmation # at the end of your transaction. I had to call the restaurant to confirm they got my information, including credit card #. The 1 coed bathroom was dirty. Visible fecies around the toilet rim.The seating area is small and not secluded from the people in the Paladio walking by. We felt like we were in a fishbowl. People literally stopping to stare.The staff were nice but not friendly.There was only one person waiting on the entire restaurant. There were 5 parties at the time.We had to wait quite a while with a hungry 5 year old. Since the reservation was made in adavance (including menu selections) I would have expected to be served sooner. Many of the clientele were children (anyone with kids can understand)I mentioned in the reservation that we were celebrating my daughters birthday. None of the staff acknowledged it.

Just had tea with my ladies here today! We all agreed 10/10, would recommend, and return! We shared some sandwiches, scones, fruit, and cupcakes. Everything was super tasty. They accommodated my friend's gluten allergy perfectly. Awesome place to catchup with the ladies. Ambiance was everything cute pink and the flower wall is perfect for a photo. Service from Amber was attentive, professional, and friendly! We loved our experience and plan to return in the future!

The afternoon tea is a rip off. $58 for TINY portion. The four tiny sandwiches equal the same as one homemade on white bread crust cut off sandwich made at home lol royal tea includes (1) tiny croissant with chicken salad. (1) 1/4th regular size sandwich cut into circle with egg salad. (2) 1/4 size regular sandwich turkey. (1) 1/4 size regular size sandwich with cream cheese and cucumber.
