We loved our dinner at Vacanza yesterday! It was my birthday, so my kids asked me where I wanted to celebrate, and I immediately chose Italian. From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, it had an authentic Italian feel. The staff were extremely friendly, and the food was amazing. My lasagna was excellent, and the tiramisu was to die for!Italy holds a very special place in my heart, and this restaurant brought me right back to my trip. I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves Italian cuisine.

2024-2025I've come by 3 times now and have mixed feelings. The Vacanza and Mimosa House are under the same owner and share the space. Our first time here was for a 3 ladies - GNO and it was peach season. I remembered it was a great dinner. We came back a month later and it was a good dinner for 4 adults. We ordered similar items as our first but it wasn't as good this second time around. Peach was towards end of season and it wasn't consistent to our experience just a couple of weeks before. We sat on the Vacanza side our first two times.2/7/25 - sat on Mimosa side. Ambiance is not as nice or loud but we did have 1/2 the restaurant to ourselves this time. We saw that they updated their seasonal menu so we're excited to come back. We came back again for GNO with 6 ladies and it looks like it's fig season or so we thought. We received nothing with figs despite ordering 2 fig dishes. Starters:We ordered to start the $18 fig bruschetta - described as grilled rustic ciabatta, sacramento honey bruleed figs, cypress grove humbolt fog goat cheese, ricotta, balsamic crema, olive oil and thyme. It was 3 pieces and was mushy and not great. The grilled ciabatta was not crispy so it was a lot of wet goat cheese on soft bread. We also did not get fig but got slices of pear on it instead. We also ordered to share the pig and fig pizza, described as honey roasted figs, arugula salad, twenty four month aged prosciutto di parma, cypress grove humbolt fog goat cheese, balsamic crema - this was very doughy. This was also topped with pear and not fig. I think they were out of fig for the day or something.Fried Mozarella $16 (we've had this all 3 times) - it's the one we all agree is consistent and tasty.Described as fior de latte, parmiginao reggiano, chives and spicy pomodoro sauce. Brussel Sprouts $16 - get this. It was delish! Described as pork jowl fat fried brussels, castelbelbo fonduta, and parmigiano. For my entree, I chose lasagna $27Described as beef and pork ragu, short rib, bechamel, tomato, pecorino sugo, basil oil, parmigiano and chives. I was surprised on what came out. It was ok, nothing to brag about.2 of our friends ordered the Pappardelle Al Ragu $27Described as pork belly and short rib ragu, tomato sauce, castelbelbo fonduta, basil and parmigiano. I recall it was a table favorite on one of the prior dinners but today 2 ladies ordered it and neither finished and didn't take to go. 2 other friends ordered the bucatini and meatballs $26Described as tomato sauce, parmigiano, whipped ricotta and basil. We asked for a chocolate martini and they don't have it on the menu - they have an espresso but the server kindly asked the bar and they were able to accommodate us and made 4 for dessert. I ordered a cocktail and swapped out gin for vodka so they can make adjustments if you ask which is appreciated. For the over all price to portions, this is definitely on the pricier side. Betting a good portion of our bill were cocktails. I'm not sure if we'd come back anytime soon with the way how things turned out this time around. We'll have to wait and see.

We went out for my boyfriend's Birthday atthe Regal to see a really enjoyable movie. After the movie we looked around to see what looked appealing, a decent dinner nearby. We walked into the Vacanza Romana restaurant, and were nicely greeted and informed there were no openings but we could sit at the bar area. Absolutely no problem considering it's a busy restaurant and we hadn't made reservations. Our waiter was Dominic, he was nice enough. He took our order, Foccatini & Meatballs and Lasagna and a beer. We were brought some yummy bread with olive oil and vinegar dip while we waited. When Dominic brought out the order, we were both surprised by the lasagna's appearance, it was brown. Dominic explained it was seared (it looked like it was seared twice or fried on all sides). It looked dry.We asked Dominic for some Parmesan cheese, some Italian restaurants just have it ready, 1/3rd of it landed on the table (np). I also as to ask for a spoon so I could Twirl my extra long pasta. My buccatini and meatballs tasted alright, but the lasagna didn't taste like lasagna, it was overcooked and dry.It tasted and looked like an overcooked vegetarian hamburger. We should have sent it back and ordered something else, but then my pasta would be cold.My boyfriend grew up in the east coast, so Italian food has always been a favorite to him. I just wanted to take him to a nice restaurant for his Birthday. We'll never be back or recommend this place.

4 star for food 2 stars for service. A group of 10 ladies went for dinner. Our waiter was not very accommodating or helpful. He wouldn't close the blinds for our surprise party. He wouldn't let 1 person order a 1/2' order pasta. He became argumentative with one of us. The manager came over. I'd go back for the food. We ordered 6 appetizers that were all amazing. The ravioli was excellent. The cocktail 2 of us ordered couldn't be made because they were missing an ingredient! That was surprising.

Our server was very nice! Her name started with an A. She was very sweet and attentive. I feel bad for forgetting! The ambiance of this place comes off as modern - ish Italy. Very cute decor, nice booths, nice dish ware and we loved how you can see the pasta being made. Everything that we tasted was pretty good. I will say the calamari we had as an appetizer wasn't too flavorful. We felt it needed a tad bit of salt. It definitely needed that aioli to give it more depth. The other thing was the spicy pasta my husband got. It was too spicy to where it was too spicy to consume in one sitting. The other 3 dishes we got were good and portions were enough to satisfy your hunger. We hear they are a sister restaurant to mimosa house and that's pretty cool, I've been there before! We will most likely stop in again sometime to try other items.

My wife and I celebrated our ten year anniversary yesterday. We had a vow renewal ceremony at the house earlier in the day, and it was fun but rather hectic. Where we wanted to have dinner that night was somewhat of an afterthought. I was going to make reservations at Visconti's in Folsom (which is delicious, by the way) but I wanted to take a chance on something new. Vacanza Romana popped up in my Google results when I typed in "anniversary dinner". We decided to take a chance, and we're happy we did. The ambiance here reminded me of what I imagine going to Rome might have been like in the 1960's. They even have a window view into the kitchen where guests can watch their food being made. When we arrived, it was pretty busy. We had to wait for our table, but we didn't mind. They were able to give us a temporary table while we waited for ours to open up. They have a seasonal menu, which meant that everything on the menu was fresh, which is always a plus, and is (generally) a good indicator that the restaurant you're eating at is boujee AF. They have everything from oysters to ravioli to pizza on their menu. They also have an impressive and extensive wine list. We both decided to order the lamb, as well as calamari and oysters for our appetizers. When I made the reservation through Open Table, I was asked if this was for a special occasion, so I put down this was for our anniversary. I didn't expect much of anything by giving that info, but we ended up being surprised (in the best was possible) by what they did for us. When they seated us, we had a hand-wrhand-written note waiting for us wishing us a happy anniversary. We were also given champagne and a strawberry desert with "Happy Anniversary" written out in chocolate. As for the food, it was amazing. Even the complementary bread was delicious. It came with this oil and sea salt mixture that would have made wonder bread taste amazing, let alone the hot, fresh bread that was served to us. The oysters practically melted in my mouth, and the calamari was crispy, which isn't always the case, depending on where you get it from. The lamb was amazing. I ordered mine rare, and it had a complex and rich flavor that was addictive. It was served with whipped potatoes that had a sauce on it that perfectly complemented both the lamb and the potatoes. Overall, we were highly impressed with the food, the atmosphere, and the service. The owner even came out to check on us and ask how our meal was. I would highly recommend this place for a special occasion or an upscale date night. You might be dropping a little bit of paper when the bill comes, but sometimes you have to live a little and celebrate in style. They also have a Cold Stone ice cream shop across the way, so now you have even more incentive to go.

We love Vacanza Romana and it is a great restaurant addition to Town Center. Tucked away next to the movie theater, it is a great place to go to sit and relax, have a glass of wine, an appetizer, or a great dinner. They have many selections to choose from and their wine list is extensive ..... but I really like their Negroni! (They have a few variations of it as well). The staff is awesome and they will take care of you. Save some room for dessert!!!

Such a disappointment to write this review. Vacanza has been one of my favorite places since they opened, but I've spent the last two days dealing with serious food poisoning from here. We came for my birthday and just about every aspect of the visit was quality until my food arrived. I got the Frutti De Mare and about 1/3 of the way through I ate one of the scallops, and noticed it was very rotten and bad. I leaned over to my wife and told her immediately that I was going to get food poisoning from this. Sure enough I started feeling sick that night and have been sick the next two days vomiting and having severe abdominal pain. Perhaps it was just a one off bad luck, but you've got to be extremely careful with shellfish and this clearly got through the checks and now I'm paying for it. I still love this place, but this is a serious step back for me.
