I visited Urban Plates for the first time this past Saturday afternoon, and I had a great experience! The place is really cute, with a modern vibe and options to order either through a kiosk or directly with the staff. I got the turkey avocado club with a side of truffle fries, and it was so good! The sandwich was perfectly made, and those truffle fries were absolutely delicious. Must try! What really stood out, though, was the service. William was the one who checked on us, and he was super sweet! He made sure we had everything we needed and came back to check on us throughout the meal. Need more people like William Overall, a fantastic spot for a casual meal with great food and even better service! I'll definitely be back to try other stuff!

Wish we could use 1/2 stars because this place a solid 4.5 Bring hubby back with us next weekend to see about trying more options on this very diverse menu that I applaud with the healthy sized portions of fresh from scratch foods 5/5 Ahi I put with Brussel sprouts and rice was so flavorful I did not even open sauce or use wasabi that came with 5/5 Brussel sprouts good cooking and not over sauced as so many can be these days 4/5 GF bread good 5/5 moms garlic shrimp she put mashed potatoes, gravy and beets with goat cheese5/5 shrimp well seasoned slightly smallish 5/5 mash with gravy You can taste the from scratch 5/5 beets/goat fresh, beets excellent texture and goat was subtle Lemonade 5/5 grateful not too sweetLime/turmeric 5/5 bought another on for drive back to SF Mango tart 5/5 more fresh mango than tart which is good for waistline and the mango was PERFECT Backpacker cookie (saving for tomorrow)GF chocolate cookies 10/10 lol tastes like a brownie and chewy Service 3/5 only reason this place isn't receiving a five hoping to change that next weekend. Last week Friday, we visited Urban Plates with a large group and our experience was fantastic from start to finish. I would say, the place is located in Fair Oaks and going from Elk Grove, the GPS took me through inner roads. I was little nervous but thankfully reached the location safely. I was amazed to find the location in a prime accessible area. Upon reaching, I was happy there were ample parking. For customer's worried about parking like me, all I need to say tons of parking plus it's free. First impression of this place, it reminds me of Jack Urban Eats. I kept telling people in my group, the menu and ambiance resembles of Jack's or it's just me constantly thinking of other restaurants. You can order either at the cashier or through Kiosk. I ordered chicken sandwich with fries through kiosk. Ordering through the kiosk was a breeze. The sandwich was fresh and flavorful and perfectly cooked. I would say, most of us enjoyed our meal. Some folks complained it was overpriced for their salad or soups didn't taste that great. My tummy was happy and that's all matter's, right? The staffs were attentive and incredibly helpful. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with friendly smiles, and they helped us navigate through kiosk. I loved the fact at the kiosk, you can pick up the number and enter while checking out. The staffs were standing and guiding us. Food came out fairly quickly although we were like 20 plus people in the group. I noticed the staffs were refilling drinks, taking away dirty dishes whenever they saw people were done. I would say, customer service was A+. Totally recommend this place for group events. And I'm returning to try the Nashville chicken.

My friend and I checked out Urban Plates for dinner tonight and it was packed when we arrived around 5pm. The dining area was nice and open with lots of seating (outdoor seating as well) - the kitchen was also open too so you could see them preparing all of the food. My only complaint was the placement of the ordering counter - it's right in front of the main entrance and when it's busy, it gets very congested in that area. They do offer QR codes on the tables to order from and touch screens for faster service - we opted for the touch screen instead of waiting in line. We ordered the Kids Macaroni and Cheese with Fries and the Kids Steak Plate with Brussels Sprouts. Both came with a piece of grilled bread and the portions were huge -- we left so full and satisfied!Staff brings your food to the table and they were walking around and clearing tables and checking in with everyone to see if they needed anything else. Super friendly too!Their menu is pretty big with so many good looking items - salads, bowls, sandwiches and burgers! They offer a vegan menu and their desserts looked really good too! We will definitely be back soon!

Omg if I could leave 10 stars I would! I have always said that service is the determining factor on whether a place will be great for me or not and mannn was I in for a treat here! William was spectacular! He made sure we were well taken care of the entire time. Keep in mind, you pay when you get in the front door so when they bring your food out technically they don't have to wait on you anymore but William went out of his way for us to make sure our first experience here was one to remember.The food was great! The soup and sandwich combo is such a good deal only $9.99! We also ordered the grass fed burger with fries. We forgot to say well done on the burger but that was no problem at all for William, he corrected it right away, no questions asked! He also kept coming back to make sure we were happy and everything was good. He even asked if we were happy enough to ever come back again and I said absolutely! Even if the food was average it still wouldn't overshadow the joy William brought to us today. It's abundantly clear that customer satisfaction is his top priority. My fiance and I don't eat out over here very often since we live in Folsom but we will definitely find some time and go out of our way to come back again especially if William is there! More like 3.5 stars! I have been wanting to try Urban Plates and finally came here for dinner on a Friday night. The place was packed. At one point, customers were standing around waiting for open tables. There is a nice open patio with heaters but it was a cool night to be sitting outside, especially if you have little kids or elderly. This is a counter-service restaurant. You order/pay, get a number, find a table and they will bring you the food. You can order at the two kiosks or with a live person. The menu was overwhelming for me. I wish I had a chance to look through the menu in advance. In haste, I order the Moroccan Chicken Braise which wasn't bad. The sauce/gravy was on the watery side. The slice of bread that came with the meal was not edible. It didn't taste like bread and it was hard as a card board. My friend had the Grilled Grass Fed Steak with broccoli and french fries. You can pick your sides. It was interesting that he asked for medium well steak but was told he can only pick medium rare or well done - no in between. I wonder why? Maybe the steak is cooked already in only two different temperatures? Anyway, I had a taste of the steak and it was alright. Mind you, I'm not a big fan of steak and hardly consume it. We also got desserts because it's Friday :-) The Chocolate Vanilla Layer Cake was rich and moist. I didn't care for the Cowgirl Cookie. Perhaps we didn't order the right item in this visit. I plan on giving them another try. I would like to try the Seafood Chowder and Grilled Portobello Mushroom Sandwiches or their Salads. The location is great for me and I love the patio. The staff was very nice and work quickly to clear the tables for the waiting guests.
