Union Gospel Mission

This organization is awesome! They provide shelter and things for those in need. It's a great place to donate blankets and clothing to. They also have a program to help others get back on their feet. A few years ago I volunteered here serving meals and attending their Wednesday night church service. I loved hearing the testimonies of some of the folks here.

Incredible organization with amazing staff, volunteers, and clients. The night I was there, they served a meal of rice, chicken, beans and veggies, plus dessert and drink, and it all looked so delicious. Everything was clean and well-run. I highly recommend the organization to unhoused folks needing services. It's also a great option if you want to donate items directly to those in need. Any blankets, coats, etc. that you are able to donate will go directly to a human who needs those items. They do a hard job incredibly well and make the world a better place.

Awesome Ministry!! The love for people here is real. Today I just dropped off a few bags of food I had cereals, canned beans, & pasta. My response was rapid I emailed the website yesterday 1/17/22 evening & got a response early today 1/18/22. I arrived and everyone there was so happy and friendly. I'd say if you have some extra food items definitely donate here.

I'm so disappointed and upset with the treatment we received today at this place. My husband went to check himself into rehab, literally had his bag packed and all the requirements were completed. Spent 190. To take a TB test to complete one of the requirements. Then for them to deny him before even interviewing him. WOW someone wants the help and can't even receive it! Unbelievable! Because he said he wanted to help feed the homeless they claim he is trying to run the program. He didn't even get a fair chance, this is not Christian like behavior. The director denies people because they are excited to go to the program. I'm still confused by all of this! No one deserves this treatment. They judged him! And for what!? So unacceptable no program should be ran like this!

My brother and sisters in Christ at this mission will have fulfill GOD's purpose for mankind by serving one another more than I will ever be able to.I pray The Holy Spirit will cover this place with Truth, Power and Love.Blessings to you all.Acts 20:35

Came here to donate a lot of women clothes and Feminine hygiene products staff was very friendly and easy to do just drive in donate to give you a receipt I like coming here because they don't charge women for nothing I donate to Salvation Army and Goodwill and they make women pay for it

Came a long way from where I once was! Was once occupying a bed here at this generous warm and welcoming place giving a place of security and shelter from those mean streets!#SDK3

I'd like to commend the Union Gospel Mission's culinary team, particularly Chef Dave and Chef Okeze, whose outstanding and consistently delicious food is deeply appreciated by the mission's community.

Great place to donate clothes, as you know they will be put to good use. These people do God's work.

This program has been serving the homeless of SACRAMENTO since 1962. They also provide a 9 month live-in drug/alcohol rehabilitation program that is the ONLY 100% TOTALLY FREE program of it's kind left here in Sacramento. While some might suggest you don't donate your money to UGMSAC I ask that person...WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO TRULY HELP SACRAMENTO'S HOMELESS?
