Umi Sushi

Omg! The taste and size of their sushi is crazy! If you're hungry and you love sushi or other great cuisines, stop in and check this restaurant out. I love sushi. Makuni's was my fav! But I stumbled to this little hide away as I was leaving Target with my kiddos . So we feasted, embarrassing as I must say I ordered 2 rolls. They are huge , mouth watering delicious. Yes, I ate them both. I couldn't help myself. Well so did the kids, not what I was expecting . Another family favorite. Small bit of advice, they get busy so go early if you can or prepare to wait a bit . It's so so worth it though. Another hit spot for us.

Service was very fast! We ordered the unagi don, lion king roll and the lobster roll with seared tuna on the side. We thoroughly enjoyed the lion king roll!! their portion size is big! Worth it for the price.

We had a great dinner at UMI a couple weeks ago. Portions were huge compared to competition and prices are almost 1/2 of other sushi restaurants. We were very pleased with the food and the service. We had the garlic edamame, rainbow roll, another roll (I forgot the name), miso soup and nigiri. The nigiri and rolls were phenomenal! Hubs went there this week for take out and the quality wasn't quite the same but sushi take out is never as good as dine in, so I'm not sure. Ambiance there is ok, more of a causal spot but we love that for weeknight quick dinners. I would highly recommend you try this if you're a sushi lover like we are!

Back to inconsistency... I recently updated my review with 5 stars because dining at the sushi bar made for incredible rolls. Got takeout yesterday and the rolls were made messy and then packed sloppily. The taste was not nearly as good as they usually are. Not sure if it was the sushi rice, or the fish, but the rolls were definitely not up to par this time. Sometimes it is just me thinking something tastes off, but this time my husband totally agreed. I am guessing it is a different person making the rolls, but I really expect consistency. It's a bummer because I wasn't eating sushi last year so was revving up for going regularly this year. Thinking it will just be on occasion dining in now.

food was very very mid. definitely not worth the price. only giving it a three star because the workers were very very nice and the atmosphere was pleasant.

Umi Sushi was highly recommended by a friend for its quality sushi and half off prices. As we all know , Sushi is an "art" form of food and often times, we pay a pretty penny for it. For Umi Sushi, I can say for its quality and food presentation, the price for this art is a steal!We were seated right away, our servers were very helpful in explaining the different sushi selections. The place was clean and nicely decorated. Umi Sushi had a LOT of sushi options at half price!In the end, we ordered the 3 item bentos (you get more for your buck compared to 2 items); for sushi we opted for ones we do not usually see: Orange Blossom, Hoss Roll and Chucky Roll. Also ordered green tea which was bottomless.The bento box has huge servings; you get 8 pieces of california rolls if selected! The sushi was fresh and tasty. I love the Orange Blossom which consists of crabmeat and salmon with no rice. Their green tea sure complimented the food. We were so full and yet still had some left overs to-go. I was surprised to see my tab, it sure was way less that what I expected for Japanese restaurant. Highly recommended Umi Sushi! It is now our go to place whether on our way or coming home from Tahoe. It's about half a mile from the 50 Freeway exits, but it is so worth it! It's just such a bummer that they are opened at 1pm on Saturdays (while they are open at 11am on other days) and closed in Sundays. We missed a few opps to stop by because of this. Hope they adjust their schedule soon!

Random pick after coming from Tahoe. We weren't too hungry but getting there. We got there at the right time, though we waited about 20 min. We were the only ones waiting at the time. Many people kept coming in and out and the waitress had to explain that it would take 45 min to an hour. The restaurant is small, but it was packed. Nothing fancy. There were only 2 waitresses and 2 sushi bar chefs. Service was good though. They were pleasant and efficient. However, our orders didn't come out until 45 min later; and there were many who didn't get their food yet. By then I was starving. We ordered the king lobster, Cherry Blossom, Lion King Roll, Rainbow Roll...and a bunch I can't remember. 7 rolls for ~$90. There's half off menu but it's not really half off because they would say a roll is like $20 originally and then it would be $10. The rolls were huge though. I could only finish about a roll and a quarter. The quality is decent. The fish was fresh. My king losbster's tail was only a decoration. I'm assuming the fried stuff inside was the lobster. I'm not really a fan of deep fried stuff, just making me more full. Overall it seems like a good place. I'm not sure what else is in the area to compare. It's really more of a 3.5 stars for me.

This was our first time here. Upon entering the restaurant the aroma of smells was delicious. It was a bite dark inside so be prepare to use your phone light to see the menu.We ordered the shrimp tempura it had 5 pieces, it was good and adequate. The rolls we ordered the super prawn roll and the red dragon roll, the rolls were massive and could be shared. It was delicious and very reasonable in price. Overall, the service was good! We will return...

Randomly ended up at this sushi spot with some friends. The 4 of us shared a party platter, which was just enough food for us. I think it was the N&R Platter, and the presentation looked great! We also shared a bottle of flavored sparkling sake, which was nice. The sushi was regular, and the service was great!
