Umami Ramen

Listen, I have been telling everyone that Umami Ramen has become my favorite spot for ramen and is probably also my favorite restaurant in Folsom (I still have a lot to explore though).Whenever I'm in the area, I try to plan around their hours. The have a reset time in between lunch and dinner and I make sure to set my meetings so I can either make it into Umami Ramen for lunch or an early dinner. They have plenty of parking in the area and it's usually easy and quick to stop in and place a take out or dine in order at their kiosk.The optimal experience is dine in because it's so fresh and hot and the way they plate everything always looks so good. If you place a take out order they'll pack the noodles and toppings separate from the broth so it doesn't get soggy. They do a great job packing takeout orders. The staff is also so friendly, they always bring me a cup of water even if I'm waiting for take out. They typically check in on me to make sure I'm enjoying everything too.They do have rice dishes, which are delicious. Their karaage chicken is also really good. If you catch them on a sushi day order some- it's delicious and not always available.They also have a little shop area with toys, snacks and desserts- it's fun to look at and it's nice to try some unique items.If you're thinking about going- do it! It's such a cute and yummy spot.

Food The bottom ramen was the Spicy Tonkotsu ( Thin Noodles ). I got the medium spice level, which was such a good one. Enjoyed the broth, it didn't feel too heavy. A full egg was given and two big pieces of meat. The combination of the vegetables and everything that was in this ramen was perfect. The ramen came out at a good temperature and it was served hot.ServiceYou order at a kiosk and then place the number plate. Once you sit down at the table after the food is ready then they bring out the food to you. The experience of this store is really cute. At the front of the store, there is a mini store where they have Japanese drinks and candy along with some anime items. There is a parking lot. Very enjoyable for you or your family. Would visit this restaurant again and try the different ramen options.

First time trying Umami Ramen and I can definitely say I will be ordering it again. I tried the R2. Spicy Tonkotsu (Thin Noodles), the Onigiri - Tuna, and the Oolong Tea (bottle). The Spicy Tonkotsu ramen was a 10/10 for me! I ordered it mild and itstill had a spicy kick but the broth was rich and flavorful. The Pork Chashu was tender too! The noodles were bouncing which was a fun surprise being that I've never had ramen noodles this texture before.The Tuna Onigiri was a nice complement to the spiciness of the ramen broth. It was a first time trying onigiri for me so I wasn't sure what to expect. The rice had a stickiness to it and the tuna was flavorful and not dry at all which I will say I was expecting but it was so good!Lastly, the Oolong Tea to wrap up the whole meal. It was tasty, light and my ideal choice of beverage to wash down a delicious meal.For a first time experience with Umami Ramen, it gets a 10/10 from me. The food's quality, the tastes, and overall presentation were remarkable. I will definitely be back. Strongly suggest!

Food is always DELICIOUS. Our spicy tonkatsu was a tiny bit too spicy but we just had lots of water and ate it slower haha we also got the chicken, gyoza, and edamame (large portion). Chicken was so good my bf wanted another order even though he was full. Let's talk about these surprise decorations though! Didn't expect to see it look so cute when we walked it and it was such a lovely atmosphere! The playlist was all love songs (oldies). Service on such a busy night was surprisingly excellent! Our appetizers came out quick and held us over since the ramen took a bit longer than usual. The timing of getting us the appetizers and letting us enjoy our meal was perfect though so I highly recommend getting appetizers if you notice it's a busy night. Wish they had a water refill station so we wouldn't have to bug the person bussing the tables for a refill. Sweet touch to give us all a Valentine's Day treat too thank you for an excellent night!

A rainy drive back to the bay area from snow boarding in Tahoe all day, we found this ramen spot in Folsom. Perfect for the cold gloomy weather to warm up our body. The restaurant is quite spacious inside. Right side are all tables. Left side has a bunch of cool things you could buy including food and drinks. You order at the 2 kiosk in the front and take a number. Once your food order is done someone will bring it to your table. We didn't wait too long for our food to arrive. Food recommendation:- pan fried gyoza (really like this. Wish the bottom was a little crispier tho)- shio ramen (has a nice yuzu hint. I wanted something lighter and the thin noodles was perfect. They gave so much noodles) - spicy tonkatsu has a really nice kick of spiciness

My first visit to Umami Ramen was nothing short of fantastic! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by a unique setup--a supermarket-style area filled with mochi, snacks, and anime merchandise. It's a fun and unexpected touch that adds to the overall charm of the place.The restaurant operates on a self-order system, which makes the experience feel modern and efficient. Once you place your order, the staff promptly brings your food to the table. If you're new or unsure about the menu, don't worry--there's always a friendly staff member near the kiosks, ready to assist with any questions.I ordered the veggie ramen, and it was absolutely delicious. The broth was rich and savory, perfectly complementing the hearty tofu and soft-boiled egg. Every bite was a comforting burst of flavor. On top of that, the staff were incredibly attentive, frequently stopping by to refill our waters, which added a nice touch of hospitality.Overall, the combination of great service, amazing food, and a unique shopping area makes Umami Ramen a must-visit spot. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

I heard about this place through friends. Parking is easy and plentiful. They have a small area for refrigerated food and Knick knacks. To order, you use the kiosk to order. The food comes out pretty quick so it's a short wait time. It had more of a fast food vibe. Good place to go to if you're looking for an easy, quick bite to eat. Pros: broth is pretty good, a little on the salty side. The portions are good. Cons: none

I have a couple of die hard Ramen fans in our group that span the globe looking for gems like Umami. They tell me this is the best Ramen in Folsom, maybe all of Sacramento County.As many of you know we had to eliminate this delicacy from our diet due to small intestinal issues. But the Sushi and Takoyaki? All systems GO!We loved the Onigiri and the taste of the Pan-Fried Gyoza. They have a very unique Geso that was also very good. I should know, I ate almost all of it!It's a comfy place that wasn't very loud. Our pals, Monica and Denise, did all the ordering through a tablet like apparatus and that was it. What limited staff we dealt with were very pleasant and efficient. 01/25

Drop by here for the first time for a quick bite. It's a nice little place with a station for toys of anime characters for sale. There is also a kiosk where you can place your order or if you were like me and had no clue what to order. You could just ask one of the nice workers there to help you out and place your order for you. It's a very casual place. Plenty of seating available. And most importantly the food is just very tasty.

My wife and I tried Umami Ramen for the first time today. The restaurant was clean and had a great selection of drinks and snacks imported from Japan. They also had an impressive display of Japanese action figures. Ordering was done through a kiosk, which was convenient.My wife had the R3 Black Garlic Tonkotsu with thin noodles, while I went for the R9 Spicy Paitan, a chicken-based broth with chicken. We both really enjoyed our meals--the broth was flavorful and well-balanced, not too salty. We also tried the Uji Matcha sparkling water; it was decent but a bit too sweet for our taste.Overall, it was a great experience. We'll definitely be back and will be bringing our kids next time!
