Excellent place to train. The absolute best. This school has decades of experience teaching effective, proven self defense for use on the street. From day one, the emphasis is on teaching "Real" movements using a "hands on" approach. Lots of hitting pads and doing things on the teacher to make sure you understand how it works. For the sport fighting (MMA) enthusiast, they teach "Shootfighting", a combination of Muay Thai Kickboxing, Jujitsu, Russian Sambo, and Catch wrestling. Not just 'Stand Up' and 'Ground' in separate classes, the "Shootfighting" integrates the two creating a much more well rounded fighter. The instructors are professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. THERE ARE NO "KID" TEACHERS. All of the instructors are adults, and the adults and kids are taught separately in the group classes. If you are looking to train as a family or for training for you son/daughter, you will not find a better place. Instead of focusing on 'point fighting' and playing a 'game'. Kids build up their self esteem and confidence while learning real physical skills that will need if they are attacked. There is nothing worse than if a kid thinks he can defend his or herself only to get beat up (OR WORSE), because what they learned doesn't really work.I do know that there are quite a few CHP officers, Police, SWAT, as well as Correctional Officers from CMF training here as well as some of the other locations (and they are some of the coolest people to train with) If it is good enough for them an their families, it is good enough for mine.

Our 5th grader son started with Mr. Hobbs at the Davis studio about 2 years ago. We have been so happy with him as a teacher: he's great with kids! He is tough but encouraging, kind, and funny. Our son loves him and has been steadily advancing. We like that the focus here isn't on the belts but on technique and taking the time to learn the moves thoroughly. Can't recommend him enough!

This is a great studio, very supportive. I used to go here at lunch and train with Mr. Hobbs. He really works with you and never is intimidating or disrespectful. I now live in Sac and wish I could find a place this great and reasonable. I just about willing to make the commute to go back.
