This bridge feels like home, more than most landmarks in the area, this one screams to me "Sacramento".Whether you're crossing it while driving through town, walking by while exploring or enjoying a special occasion like the Tower Bridge Dinner, it's a sight to see. It's lit up at night and you can see it while driving up 5 North as well.I remember how cool it was to cross under it during a fundraising walk, over and around the ballpark and back to the capitol building. In fact I've captured video on more than one occasion while we've driven under it as well.Whenever we have out of town visitors this is one of our spots to take them, especially when the weather is nice.

A beautiful land mark, especially driving in from YOLO. That direction takes you from the home of the River Cats to the State Capital. The bridge has been updated over the years and now shines as a bright beacon

Well, it's not every day you see a vertical lift bridge, much less a bright yellow one. Unless you live and work in Sacramento. Then you're probably used to it. As a non-local, however, I only recently have stopped, looked, and walked on it like I was some bridge groupie bowled over by the heavy steel construction and the constant rumble of vehicular traffic.I don't think I'm that much of an architectural pushover, but it was quite a uniquely conspicuous sight as I was walking the riverfront between the Crocker Art Museum and Old Sacramento. It was built in 1935 in the Streamline Moderne style heavily influenced by the Art Deco movement - even though the bright yellow hue didn't feel like Miami Beach to me.The bridge is only 737 feet long, so it won't take you long to walk it, and then you can do what I did and risk life and limb dodging the M Street traffic to walk on the other side. Actually it wasn't that scary since it was the middle of the day, but if you're here, make a point of stopping to admire this landmark. They can't all be the Golden Gate Bridge, and it's certainly better than the Dumbarton (no offense).RELATED - Exploring Sacramento? Tower Bridge is one of the most important landmarks in Sacramento. It is so beautiful regardless of day or night! The bridge is connected to the City of Sacramento and the City of West Sacramento. It is one of the major bridges between these two cities. I have taken countless photos of this gorgeous landmark in the last 30+ years. All the pictures are amazing! I also bring all my friends and relatives who visit Sacramento to see the bridge. They were very excited to see this beautiful bridge too! I highly recommend it to anyone who is coming to Sacramento. Make sure you are included Tower Bridge in your schedule. I'm sure you will have a great time in the area too. Enjoy your trip!

Growing up in Sacramento I didn't care much about this Bridge. However, moving away and visiting family made me realize that certain things shouldn't be taken for granted which I have become more appreciative of what is around me especially if it's part of history. This historical landmark bridge is what makes Sacramento so special as I take lots of pictures with different angles of the bridge. There is a little walkway under the bridge which can take you from the beginning to end of the bridge just be careful as you are close to driving vehicles. I have watched the movie, Lady Bird that has taken place in Sacramento and I totally relate to this movie, and you will see the Tower Bridge in the movie too. The Tower Bridge is totally right next to old Sacramento which is walkable if you are planning a trip to Sacramento. The Tower Bridge is a vertical lift bridge across the Sacramento River, linking West Sacramento in Yolo County to the west, with the capital of California, Sacramento, in Sacramento County to the east. It has also been known as M Street Bridge. If you're into architectural bridge design, then I highly recommend you visit this iconic bridge.

The tower bridge looks quite unique, and you can walk across it, or standing on the bridge to look at the river snd people in the river walk. It connects to the capital mall road directly to the capital building.

Wether you decide to drive past it, swim under it, or walk across it, you will love the energy. It's rare to walk past a golden painted bridge, so come visit! It's located in Old Sacramento where all the fun things are, so there is no excuse not to go! Looking, touching, and photos are free. Bring your favorite cameras and get ready to snap a few pictures for social media!
