Top Choice Restaurant

I have always enjoyed Guilin rice noodles ever since trying the dish out at another restaurant in the Bay Area, but in general, the number of restaurants that offer this dish are few and far in between. Thankfully, Sacramento has Top Choice Restaurant for my Guilin rice noodle fix and I have been to this restaurant several times now! Guilin rice noodles (either soup or dry version) is a dish that is packed full of flavor and funk. Filled with various toppings such as peanuts and fermented veggies, as well as several types of meats like crispy pork belly, this dish is not for everyone, but it most certainly is for me. You can even ask for extra toppings. I've ordered the dry version once and the soup version a few times and I personally prefer the soup version. My husband prefers the dry version. The owners/waitresses speak Cantonese and Mandarin, and are attentive and friendly. Top Choice Restaurant is located in south sac, so don't expect a fancy establishment, but the ambiance is quiet and the tables, chairs, and floor are clean. The parking lot area is small but has plenty of spots. It has never been too busy or loud when I've eaten at this establishment, but I honestly prefer this as I enjoy a quiet environment when I am savoring my lunch. While Top Choice Restaurant caters to those who know about Guilin rice noodles as well as several other authentic noodle dishes (like beef knuckle rice noodle soup), if you have never tried authentic Guilin rice noodles and are feeling adventurous, I'd highly recommend this establishment! Just be ready for the funk of the fermented veggies and a different flavor profile than you'd normally be used to.

The portions are huge!This comfort food is delicious and really affordable compared to other options in the Bay Area.

I recently came back to Top Choice and I'm bumping this place up to 5 stars - last time I came I ordered the Guilin Noodle Soup on a really hot day. This second trip was no less hot but I ordered the Guilin Noodle with soup on the side and it was a lot better than the noodle soup on a hot day. The bowl of noodles has lots of ingredients, with crispy pork, egg, pickle mustard greens. Highly recommend top choice if you're in the area

Yummmmmm!!! My first time having this type of noodle soup dishes. The broth was super flavorful and the noodles were cooked to perfection. The crispy pork was in fact CRISPY. I love how they garnished the dish with pickled cabbages, pickled long beans, peanuts, and bamboo shoots. It really elevates the dish. If you ever try this place, don't forget to add their spicy chili oil! That brings the dish to a whole new level.

honestly these were flavors i've never tried b4. idek what i ordered ngl but it was def an acquired taste. like there's sourness, savoryness and allat. tbh it's not bad tho. the roast pork was very good. noodles were nice n chewy. if you like sour shi w noods def come here. hallway to the bathroom was hella sketchy tho. thought i was gonna get jumped. i didn't like the bamboo in the noodles tho. maybe j me but bamboo is just ahhh

This is Chinese comfort food. It is high in carbohydrates, and the crispy pork has a lot of fatty meat. However, it is very delicious. I did the crispy pork noodles to go, and the pork was very crispy. A side note, the broth should be drunk separately when you eat the noodle dish. This is how you are supposed to eat it. This allows the noodles to absorb the sauces the dish comes with. I like this restaurant, but it isn't something I'll eat often as I try to eat healthy. However, it's something that hits the spot when you are craving good quality noodles and crispy pork.

Delicious comfort food - think chicken noodle soup, but a regional Chinese version! There is a small selection of items but the dish to get is A with soup, which is authentic Guilin Noodles. The huge bowl comes with half an egg, peanuts and pickled vegetables, pork and a generous serving of noodles. The broth was savory and complex in flavor but light in substance, not too oily. Prices were very reasonable, service quick and kind, and parking plentiful in the small plaza. Be aware that they close rather early at 7pm!

All the old reviews about the horrible service were not experienced by me for the past year! I love this place. The waiter was kind and considerate by asking questions. The rice noodles have great texture and have a light chewiness. The soup is the best part. It's light and not too rich but is a great sip and compliment to the rest of the dish.If you don't like pickled veggies, definitely ask for your needs. The dishes come with it! They don't have ingredient descriptions for their food so be cautious with your wants.I never leave a review but this place definitely deserves it. The food is so good and filling. Perfect prices and huge portions

I'm a fan! Hard to find noodle places like this where I'm from. Love the different flavors all in one bowl of noodles. Quick service and the inside looks pretty clean. I always do A with soup on bowl but sometimes I do B with soup on the side.
