FOOD 5 Stars! Ambience 4 stars Averages to a 4-1/2 star experience. I'll be back. And back some more. We were running errands and I was getting hangry and we were in the area. Hubby offered up Tony Baloneys an old school Italian eatery that he has been wanting to try for years. They offer some pasta dishes, Pizza and Submarines hot or cold. We tried two different hotties to split. The hot pastrami which had thinly sliced lean tasty meat, and the recommended meatball sandwich. Meatballs were flavorful and offered a smooth and creamy bite. The bread was killer and had just the right amount of crunch on the edges but stayed soft enough to bite through. We also enjoyed a pitcher of IPA for an incredibly decent price and ended our meal with a raspberry cannoli. Cannoli was delish but very hard to bite through making it not ideal for any person wearing dentures. My parents could never enjoy this yummy dessert. The guts of the place are retro Italian funky and eclectic. Not pretentious but welcoming in a come as you are kind of way. My critiques would be that there was not any kind of background music which lent cafeteria feel. We usually eat at non busy times so there were not many people there but you could hear peoples private conversations very easily as they echoed through the restaurant. Something about background tunes allows you to have a better overall experience and feels much more private. This place begs for some Dean Martin crooning That's Amore. Also, it's not a deal breaker but I'd like to eat off of an actual plate. Our sandwiches came on paper in a basket. Fine for almost any sandwich but the pastrami was juicy and we had to use a fork and knife vs picking up by hand. The paper got too soggy and integrated with my sandwich. I had a couple of papery bites. I would order this sandwich again though. Tastiest leanest pastrami sandwich I've ever eaten - even with some paper added! Overall, I would absolutely recommend a visit to Tony Baloney's

My favorite here is the pepper steak sandwich add provolone. Also make sure you get a side of their potato salad, it is always good! My only single criticism is the seats in the restaurant seem a little brittle and old. The women running the counter are also very nice and accommodating.

This is an old school Italian joint. They've been here for 60 years! They've got the red and white tiled floors, nostalgic wood furniture and wood paneling, and classic Brat Pack music playing. Think Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra. Certainly makes me miss my dad. Service is quick and the people are friendly. The menu is basic. They have hot and cold sandwiches, salads, and spaghetti and ravioli. If you want a hot sandwich, they recommend the Pepper Steak, which is the most popular. If you want a cold sandwich, the Italian Cold Cut is what they recommend. We ordered:Pepper Steak Sandwich - YUMMMMMM! The steak is tender and flavorful. The roll is toasted just right. The toppings are simple: Mayo, cheese, tomato, and oil dressing. So delicious!!!Italian Cold Cut Combo - same toppings. Also very good. I think it's the toasty bread that makes the sandwich even better. Meatball Sandwich - If they're known for their spaghetti and ravioli, then that means their meatballs are going to be authentic. We also got cheese bread. Carbo loading! This place is definitely a good place to try out if you're in the area.

It's definitely a little whole in the wall type atmosphere and the crew is a little rough. However, they make a damn good hoagie and that's what I was looking for.

I've been frequenting this establishment for years and years. They serve up delicious genuine cold cut sandwiches with awesome flavor.Sadly, as of late, they have significantly cut back on the amount of meat on the sandwich and it's no longer as good. I think I'd gladly play a little more to have the same meat that used to be supplied. So I decided to try a pizza, this is what you get for $15Why?

I really only go because my mom used to come here when she was younger. I think the food is only OK, but hats off to a living institution. They have a very loyal customer base though. It's pretty much cold cuts and some pastas. I do really like their meatball sandwich. It's made with all beef meat and no Italian sausage, and I much prefer that. It's definitely worth a try if you want a hot sub. And their garlic bread is soaked in butter and is guaranteed to go straight to your hips. It reminds me of that pre prepared garlic bread that I used to get growing up. It's soaked in butter and garlic and brings back happy memories. So, if you just want a generic cold cut sandwich it's okay for that, but I'd probably just spend my money at Subway. If you want an excellent meatball sub, try out Tony's. Oh, and, their hours aren't good. Who shuts down at 7pm on a Friday and 6pm the rest of the days. It's a logistical nightmare. Again, go for the meatball sub, everything else is just a more expensive Subway. I usually hit Subway...

I was pleasantly surprised to find this wonderful family establishment unchanged after over 40 years of patronage. I started coming in the early 80's when I attended college at ARC. My flight wing from McClellan AFB and I would meet every Thursday for lunch until I left in 1996.28 years later travelling through I stopped in and ordered my standby - the pepper steak sandwich - one byte and it was like a walk back down memory lane - still the same after all these years. It's refreshing to know some things never change.
