Tijuana Taqueria

I've been wanting to try Tijuana Taqueria for a while. It's a bit out of the way at the east end of Placerville on Broadway. I ordered a 2 item combo dinner to go. I ordered a hard shell crispy beef taco and a chicken enchilada. It came with rice and beans. When I got the order home, I discovered a soft taco and not a hard shell crispy taco I had ordered. Bummer. Everything else was accurate. The soft beef taco was good and tasted fresh but it's not what I wanted. The chicken enchilada was spot on. The mild salsa on the side was watery and also spicier and hotter than "mild". The Mexican rice was excellent and so were the beans.

I've been enjoying the carnitas from this family run business for decades! Looks like papa is handing the reigns to a new generation. Still THE best carnitas in the county! Going strong.

The food I've had here has all been excellent. I'm fond of their crispy shredded beef tacos, veggie burrito (it has grilled veggies as well as the usual ingredients) and, a particular favorite, their chile rellenos. Cannot say much about the ambiance, except it's always clean. I usually just order at the take out counter. The food is prepared fresh.

A bit out of town, but worth the drive. The chicken enchilada suiza were wonderful. The restaurant was attractive and the server was very friendly.

Great authentic Mexican cuisine. Great owners great service, good people. I love going there!! And you can't beat the prices or the service!!

I ordered a bean and cheese burrito enchilada style (red, wet) and got tomato sauce on the burrito. Terrible! The guy said that's how they make it where they're from in Mexico. He said he has 5? kids to support. I've been there before and not gotten sauce like that. Won't go back and won't support inauthentic Mexican food at this place.

My husband and I just heard about this restaurant and tried it yesterday. I had fish tacos and my husband had the tostada. Both were very good. The rice and beans were very good and too much for me. We have been looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant, we have found ours.

The food was amazing!! Recommend the menudo! The service was amazing and all the workers were super kind! Actual authentic mexican food! 10/10
