The Tin Lantern Bar & Grill

Out for a boys whitewater rafting trip and we were looking for a good place for dinner. This place came recommended from the locals so we decided to try it out - and boy did it not disappoint I went for the filet dinner - which was perfectly done at medium rare (no overcooked meat here). Highly recommended, especially for someone trying to stay on the low carb side of the spectrum. Folks in the group also ordered the fish, the ribs and the other steak preparations. I don't think I heard one word of disappointment from anyone - so I am guessing everything tasted greatI always go for the whiskey list - and these guys know their liquor well. There was definitely some good local beer and wine in the mix too - but I was happy with the bourbons I got.Great for groups, with a local go to place kind of ambience. We came towards the late evening on a weekend, and they were able accommodate our group of 6 - we did get a reservation an hour ahead of arrival. Definitely going back if ever in that area again

A hidden gem. My husband and I and our kiddo decided to try out a new place and we found them on Yelp. The food is delicious. The service was great and the prices are reasonable! They don't charge an arm and a leg for everything which we realllly appreciate. We'll be back. Only con is parking is limited.

Awesome food the Rib eye is perfect,,,,and the burger is fantastic just ask Bri!!! And the service is very good

My husband and I went for a date night. The service, especially Annie, was remarkable! She was so nice! Made sure we were happy throughout our experience. All the other service staff were on point! And so nice and welcoming. I used to work in Michelin star restaurants as a server and I was thoroughly impressed! The food was outstanding and the drinks were delicious. What a great experience and night! Thank you! We will be coming back often.

They make a very good Old Fashioned, so my stars are for that. I've stopped dining in as often because I'm just consistently "underwhelmed" with a "meh" sensation, and, the menu specials don't change often or rapidly. Oh, they do update the daily special on the website every day, but the same dishes and options appear so often in a season (or over a week or two) that it's good as not rotating very much, or makes me wonder if the items are not selling so they have plenty leftover the next day to repeat the same special.My grandfather has a great saying for the food, here: "It's neither great nor terrible."

Um yes! Absolute yes I got the filet and a whiskey drink that for the love of me I cannot remember the name of but it was everything I love in a whiskey cocktail. Forward and well balanced. The filet was absolutely perfectly cooked. Medium rare! The sides were also equally delicious! The staff was so insanely nice, chatty, and inviting. The bar is wonderful and they have a really solid whiskey selection. I ran a whiskey bar as a GM for 6 years... I'd know lol I will 100% come back to this spot. Such a gem in such a small town! Can't wait to try their other menu items

Cozy and festive atmosphere. The filet was excellent. Perfect service! Prices are very reasonable especially if you are used to Bay Area prices.

We had reservations for Thursday night. Seated and served right away. We ordered coconut shrimp appetizer (yum), pan seared salmon (delicious), burger medium (nicely prepared) and Cioppino- was expecting a broth but this was more tomato stew like, still tasty. They converted their old patio to expand their interior seating. They also added sound absorbing panel. When the weather is nice, we like eating outdoor.

The Tin Latern Bar and Grill is an awesome little place in the heart of Meadow Vista. I highly recommend getting reservations and sitting outside if the weather permits.The food was delicious. We ordered an artichoke heart that was exquisite. In addition to this, we both got cocktails that were very good. The steak salad and pesto chicken sandwich were cooked to perfection. They were both tender and juicy. Furthermore, the pesto sandwich came with a spicy Mayo sauce that was very good. If you're looking for a special date night out, The Tin Lantern will impress your other half, and you will have a great time.

We recently dined here on a Friday night. While the service was absolutely amazing, the food was, unfortunately, very disappointing.We started with the Caesar salad, which was fine--nothing remarkable, but it did the job. However, the issues began with the main courses. We ordered one of the specials, the sea bass, expecting something fresh and flavorful. Instead, the fish appeared to be frozen, and it was covered in a heavy sauce with capers that completely overpowered the dish. It just wasn't good.The risotto with beef tips and blue cheese was another letdown. It arrived in a bowl as a dark brown mixture where everything was blended together, making it visually unappealing. Worse yet, it was excessively salty, to the point where I could only take two bites before giving up on it.It had been about two years since we last ate here, and we were really looking forward to the same tasty food we used to enjoy. Sadly, that wasn't the case this time around. While the service remained top-notch--friendly, attentive, and truly excellent--the food didn't live up to the restaurant's previous standards.If they can get the kitchen back on track, this place could shine again. For now, though, it's hard to recommend based on food quality alone.
