Love this place. They have different varieties of strawberries and some time they have jams. It's cash only. The people are so friendly there.

Small little mom and pop operation...yup, it's one of those roadside stands. Fresh organic strawberries picked daily and grown within site of the stand. Prices are only slightly higher than most grocery stores but the quality is unmatched. No machines here, everything by hand and with a smile. Unlike grocery store berries that are grown for shipping and shelf life, these are some of the best berries around...this also make them very delicate. And since they are pesticide free, you might have company. Sometimes their hours vary due to growing conditions. They also take orders and provide to some of the local restaurants and bakeries. Lots of parking but it's on gravel/dirt. Come in summer or fall and the produce stand next door will be open. I often swing by for corn. If you can't swing by here or it's out of your way, stop by a roadside strawberry stand in you way home. It's a completely different world from the "Costco" strawberries.

I waited a long time for The Strawberry Patch to open. My experience with strawberries is usually less than stellar with most of the store bought berries needing lots of whipped cream and chocolate. This small farmer's market on El Centro near the 49er Truck Stop off Interstate 80 is a real treat even without the added sugar! This is a basic farm stand selling fresh locally grown strawberries. The berries are simply wonderful with a concentrated sweetness more like eating jam than a typical berry. Smaller than the store monsters, they lack the typical white center and do not bulge out. Prices are pretty reasonable if you buy a lot.Make sure to bring lots of cash to stock up on the year's fresh crop. The stand is also a quick stop off Interstate 80 making for a great snack heading to Tahoe or stuck in traffic heading back home. You will thank me later.

I absolutely love this strawberry stand. Sam family has been operating it for years. When my son was little they once let him pick a few of his own. I love their berries soooooooooo much they are sweet and delicious. Perfect for jelly, shortcakes just anything!!!!
