The Starlet Room At Harlow's

A pretty decent experience! Came here for the Kid Bloom concert and it was very nice and explosive. The outside area can be a bit confusing as there is another venue just next door, but the bouncers would usually clarify. However, it is very cozy overall and has both a front and back outdoor area for fresh air. I highly recommend eating beforehand as the menu at Starlet is very limited and overpriced. With that, there is extremely limited seating if the venue you are attending is on the packed side. However, they do have interesting shows, and features and the lights are dope!Parking can be pretty limited around the area, but circle around the residential street to find two-hour parking!However, it is pretty cozy and more of a chill venue than anything, so it's pretty good for a late-night hangout!

Small upstairs venue that has a really cool outside patio. This place is right above Harlow's, when you approach the front door you enter on the right (the left is the entrance to Harlow's). Staff are good at directing you to the right direction. You go upstairs, there's some spots to sit and a small stage in the corner. There's a really nice patio that they share with Harlow's. You have to go down a flight of stairs to access it. The venue is on J street so parking can be challenging. Overall a great venue.*There are no gender neutral bathrooms

I met a bunch of friends here for retro night. The music was great however, FYI- they water down their drinks. This came into realization when I ordered a double rum and coke because it was my only drink for the night, there was not even a buzz that was created. :(I watched the bartender make the drink. So, I'm guessing they water down the alcohol before opening. :(Anyway, it's best to order wine, beer or something else from a can. Have fun dancing my friends!!

The venue was cool but the scam is at the bar!! We ordered 4 drinks and NONE of them had alcohol in them! Total scam and when I told the bartender he just ignored me! How you gonna charge people for alcoholic drinks without the alcohol?? I know times are tough but Damn!! And NO customer service to fix the situation! If you go here ...order wine or shots so they cant scam you out your money!

So my colleague and I ordered three drinks at the bar. We got the bill for $54. When I got the bill it was $97. $54 for drinks$11 service fee$20 for room bill$taxWhen I asked the server about it, he said ignore all that. Tip is included. You are just paying for the drinks, service and tax. For the service? I figured my bill would be for the three drinks and I decide on the tip. What was the $20 bill to room fee about. Feeling scammed.

Great place to see a band. Small stage about 15 inches tall, very intimate. Bar service was fast and friendly, reasonably priced with standard bar, not club pricing. The Snares, a Sacramento band which was amazing, opened for Jon Spencer, also amazing.

This review is for the 80s dance night on 8/10/24. The good: bartenders were attentive and quick. The bad: WTF was up with the DJ tonight? If I'm paying a $15 dollar cover it shouldn't be train wreck after train wreck in the song transitions. Whoever was in charge of the music tonight should be embarrassed. People paid hard earned money to dance and have fun and what they got was basically someone slamming the slider from one song to the next. Every new song was an absolute vibe killer. I could've given my 12yo kid an aux cord connected to a phone and he would've done a better job.

Bar is ridiculously overpriced. 2.5X the price of a drink anywhere else in town. Why is it $12 for a single Jack and coke? $6 to $7 anywhere else.
