Great demo in making Pasteis de nata! He answered so many questions about making phyllo dough, what a labor of love. Loved the history of different pastries made in each island and his interactions with one of the pasty shop owners. Will be signing up for another class.

My very first professional baking class with Jeremiah Duarte of Jeremiah Bakes! We learned how to make a stone fruit galette using rough puff pastry and a rolled pavlova, which is named after the Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova due to the light and airy texture of the meringue. Jeremiah is a wonderful teacher: patient, welcoming, knowledgeable, friendly, kind, fun, and 100% down to earth and approachable. He is also organized, prepared and efficient. For novice bakers like myself, I appreciated his easy manner and his focus on making his recipes unfussy and unintimidating; I actually felt like I could do them on my own (although we shall see about that!)Jeremiah even graciously prepared a plum tart for our group as a special treat. BONUS!!!I am anxious to sign up for another class coming up in August, where we will learn how to make desserts of the Azores Islands. I attended the Portuguese dessert class with 5 other ladies in the family and we had a blast!Jeremiah is a gracious host, chef, and instructor. Everything was well prepared. We were able to complete three desserts. And the best part...he had cake boxes already set up which were filled with our goodies to be taken home. Obrigada Jeremiah!

I took Jeremiah's Azorean Desserts baking class a few days ago and can't say enough good things about it. Jeremiah first told us about each of the three bakes we were going to work on in the class -- its history, how it's made, and when you would serve them. He had all the the ingredients pre-measured and ready to assemble, so when it was time to get started, it went quick. It was a hands on class, so we all got to roll up our sleeves and work the dough, whisk ingredients, cut cookies, and really do the work. At the end, we had a quite a few doughnuts, mini cakes, and cookies to sample and take home. Jeremiah is a friendly and gracious host who is knowledgeable and can teach proper technique. And how great that we all got sample a variety of Portuguese liqueurs during the class while we worked. Take a class, you won't be sorry!

I can't say enough about this man and these classes! I have taken cooking classes ALL over the WORLD and this was my favorite hands-down! He's funny, informative and the spread was delicious. I couldn't have asked for a better day with my good friend making Portuguese food! All I want to do is take more! We want to host him up our way there is so much interest! He's a 5/5 and then some. He adds history, a killer smile and the recipes were to die for!

We took Jeremiah's Easy Summer Fruit Dessert class and had an amazing time! Jeremiah hosts his baking classes in his own kitchen which gives the class a very personal, laid back feel which we all really appreciated. Jeremiah has everything prepped and ready to go when you arrive, allowing you to jump right into learning and practicing. Jeremiah models everything before giving you a chance to do it on your own. This approach gave us all the confidence to tackle everything he showed us, even when many of the techniques were new. We learned how to make two different desserts and also got to sample a recipe he is working on for his cookbook. At the end of the class, Jeremiah boxed up all our desserts for us and emailed us the recipes from the day. We had a wonderful experience learning from Jeremiah. He is so easy to talk to, explains everything very clearly, and makes you feel like you're a natural. We will be attending more of his classes in the future!

I signed up for Jeremiah's class with my friend. We walked into his home for the class and it was so inviting and friendly. Everything was consistent with his Portuguese these from the refreshments to the decor. He was extremely knowledgeable and took the time to answer all of my ridiculous questions. He went through step by step and made sure we were included. I highly recommend!!!

My mom and I attended his Yule log class and it was so much fun! It's really educational and interactive. The final product we put together looked and tasted great. It was really cool by the end of the class that we had made something so pretty :) Jeremiah puts together a great class and is very nice. Definitely want to go back again !

Love the class! Jeremiah explained well all the steps, plus tips and tricks in baking. As I am a beginner baker, those tips are very much needed. He makes it easy by preparing everything. By the end of the class I felt like I actually baked something delicious and amazing looking! (I took Rolled Pavlova class and I got to take it home and my husband can't stop eating it....lol) Highly recommended
