I am extremely disappointed with The Orchard. The carry very little fruit and vegetables which is what I thought a farm stand would carry. I went there in summer looking for tomatoes and was told they didn't carry them.I ready the article in Sunset magazine and was surprised that Sunset writers wrote fiction. The orchards they inherited with the sale were in very good condition, but now are in very poor condition. I read that they held an apple festival, but they forgot to inform the community. I only learned of it by reading the magazine article and I am a local. It appears that they want to cater to the Bay Area tourist not the locals. They closed down in November instead of catering to the needs of people wanting pies and goodies for Christmas. As the other reviewers have said their pies are very expensive ($35) so I get my pies now at ACE Hardware for $19. They are made by a company out of Lodi and are very good.DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME GOING TO "THE ORCHARD".

NO LONGER MACHADO!I'm extremely disappointed with my recent experience here. I've been coming to this farm for almost 2 decades buying the best pies from machado. I bought a few pies on the website in advance to take to my family on Thanksgiving and got ZERO correspondence from them after placing the order and calling + sending several emails. After a month of being ghosted by them, I eventually got my refund but the ownership has TERRIBLE customer service and desperately needs to get their shit together. I will never come back here and I've told everyone in my life who used to visit Machado religiously to also never patronize this business again. I'd give ZERO STARS to this orchard if I could!!!! Way to drag the Machado name, SMH!

I bought a pie there that was supposed to be a peach pie and when I got home found out it was a pear pie. Bummer... $32 for a pie I didn't like. Live in Berkeley so unable to return it. First time there, can't really recommend it.

We stop here on our way to Tahoe every year and it's definitely worth the visit. The pies are absolutely delicious, my kids love the pick out candy and look at the gift section. We also like to walk around the grounds to stretch our legs. I definitely recommend this place to others as well!

REALLY REALLY CUTE. The decoration and design reminded me of animal crossing (in the best way of course) the pie and gummy bears were delish and super fresh. The sweaters and tote bags were so cute I couldn't decide which one to buy, I ultimately chose the tote bag. Very cute, well run, and deserves tons of support!

We were faithful Machado Orchards customers for years, and were crushed to see that they retired and sold the business. We've since read the Yelp reviews but decided to give this place a try ourselves to form our own opinions. The pies are extremely expensive at $35 for a whole pie and $10 for a slice. The inside shop is also very expensive...seems like this place is now geared up more for tourists dollars rather than us locals. Reception was less than welcoming and friendly. We were basically kinda ignored. So we walked around but didn't buy anything. We work hard for our dollars and since we weren't shown much value as customers we didn't part with any of our $$$

Came by yesterday to get a holiday pie and see what else I could find. The place is almost empty now. No produce or yummy goods like Machados used to have. Only like 5-6 pie flavors. Ended up walking out and going to Ikeda's for pies.

Tried this place once after Machado's shut down. The pies are tasty but extremely pricey. The place is set up like some yuppie Napa market as opposed to anything welcoming or warm. Instead of fresh produce and pickled goods, there are expensive boutique honeys and soaps. So it's definitely going for a different vibe. That I could deal with if the service was good. Unfortunately the staff seemed less than welcoming. They seemed to curse any mention of the name Machado's. I'm sorry but if you open up shop in the previous location of a beloved local institution you should expect at least some mention of it from potential new customers. Instead of rolling your eyes when someone asks you what happened to Machado's maybe say something like "Yes sadly the previous owners have retired but we hope to earn the same love from the community as they had for years" and then just move on. Why risk alienating your new customers?
