A traditional public house! Beer on draft, pub food, cozy nooks to sit in, kids and dogs on the patio, and friendly staff.Paul and I had our first date here almost 5 years ago (aww) and now we take our doggie and little niece to enjoy a respite from the bustling Christmas events in the street. The vibe inside is warm and welcoming, dark woods and curtains in the windows. Outside seating is available and many bring their pooch with them. Order at the bar and the waitress will find you. You can get yourself some water at the jug by the front door while you wait. Nice space to sit in for a while, drink a beer, and enjoy your own or others company.

Went to Fat Rabbit a few days ago for lunch. Went because it was one of the only places I could find in the Sacramento area that served pierogies. I've never had them before, but I saw some in a cooking show and all of a sudden I had to try them. The place was not crowded during lunch. You pick up a menu upon entry and order at the bar. The place was clean and comfortable.I ordered the pierogies and a pretzel and my husband ordered the fish tacos. The pierogies were really good. Mild in flavor, but super smooth potato filling and topped with carmelized onions. The pretzel was also good. My husband enjoyed his fish tacos, but he said he would probably not order them again because the mango salsa was a little too sweet for his taste.

Overall I liked this place. The food a drinks were great and my friends all enjoyed it. However, improvements must be made.Odor when walking in. When we walked in we were hit with a distinct odor which did not agree with me. The best way I could describe it was stall air mixed with moisture. I did notice a couple walk in and both said it smelled and they quickly turned and left. The bar drink menu was sticky and gross and so was the edge of the bar. No one greeted customers as they arrived As a new patron to the bar there was no explanation anywhere that they had no wait staff and all food orders were to be placed at the bar. Seating is first come, first served. This place is in need of a deep cleaning and proper ventilation needs to be installed. With a little attention to detail, this place could easily become amazing.

We stopped by here for lunch to try a new place. It was not what we expected. The fish was good, but the chips (fries) were awful, they tasted like they were reheated and stale, and lacked some salt. The guy at the bar serving us was very nice. The other problem was the carpet. It definitely needed a good clean.Maybe after a few beers none one will notice . But we will not be coming back to this place.

Very good pub! My fiance and I came here for st paddy's yesterday and enjoyed every bit of it!It was very crowded but was to be expected for the holiday. We still somehow managed to find seating. The ambience was very home-y, I loved the wooden booths and historic artwork. I'm a big history person so I loved it!! Much better than most pubs I've ever been to, with very fast service even with the amount of people there. Fish was delicious with a soft bun. Fries were hot. Shepherds pie was good just a little salty. Pretzel was good, cheese sauce was okay. Overall had a good experience here! Will definitely be back! :)

Loved the old world atmosphere. Hearty food, good Irish beer selection on tap. A step back on time. I was able to relax and be comfortable.

Just a nice comfortable place to meet with friends. There are private booths. It is always cozy. The beer is always good and there is a great selection. The food is great (traditional pub food). There is something for almost everyone on the menu. Of course the fries and traditional pub dishes are favorites (mine at least) but I've had some great salads there too. You feel like you're welcome.

Decided to try English food with a friend who is well-versed in the food. It is a different experience as you find a seat first, claim it, then order your and drinks at the bar and you pay for it upfront. The decor resembles a typical American version of a pub. The service was really awesome. The food came out all at once; even the appetizers. So order and pay for them first. Then order and pay for your meal. The food is incredible. Cooked fresh and hot. The best is the Poutine style Steak fries. Very delicious. Bangers/Mash and Cottage (Shepards) Pie was done very well and full of flavor. Definitely worth it to stop here and eat.
