I'm obsessed with this cinema! A cute and unassuming theater that screens indie/culty/arthouse/international films, this is a really low-key and easy way to spend an evening. Popcorn is $5 - small/$8 - largeI was able to get 2 tickets 1 hour before the show.Do arrive 10-15 minutes early to get good seats. It's a small theater so if you are short, the risk of low visibility is very high. I suggest bringing a pillow just in case - don't be like me =(

Dreamland Cinema is a cool micro cinema (26 seats). There's not a bad seat in the house and the chairs are comfortable. They show indie/arthouse/cult films. They release the show schedule at the beginning of the month. There's something for everyone. The ticket prices are great and I love the movies they show. Some of the shows do sell out, so if there's a movie you really want to see you should buy tickets ahead of time. They also have memberships, and if you're a member you can attend members-only screenings. They have a great snack bar. Their popcorn is great and I love that they serve it in metal bowls that can be reused instead of bags that are thrown away. There's a bin where you put your empty bowl at the end of the show. They have Mexican Coke (and other sodas) and beer. This is right off of P Street, you have to take a few steps down from the sidewalk to enter. The theater is in an old house, it used to be the Thistle Dessert Theater. You can find street parking pretty easy, but give yourself some time just in case. My only qualm is that the sound is sometimes a little too loud for me. I always have ear plugs on me so I wore those if it gets too loud for me. Everyone should visit, it's a really cool theater that shows amazing movies.

This is a small quaint mom-pop theater that seats about 3 rows of people. * The tickets are cheap and do sell out fast!* The parking isn't too hard to find if you go early.* They have snacks/drinks reasonably priced. * The owners have good customer service!* They show nostalgia movies.* It's walking distance to other eateries.I will visit again and recommend it to everyone who wants to watch a movie of the past in a cool setting.

What a fun time in this charming little theater! We visited this past Sunday to watch House (Hausu), a 1977 Japanese comedy/horror film with subtitles, and it was interesting to say the least. The place was smaller than I expected, a true microcinema, the entrance on the lower level of what looks like a house or office building. A single room for showing films, with just a projector and maybe about 20 seats inside (3 rows total), so seats are fairly close to the screen, with easy viewing from anywhere unless someone super tall is sitting in front of you. The lobby has a few tables and seating as well, and a concessions stand selling standard but limited snacks, candy, and beverages. One worker handling it all, which makes sense with such a small space. You won't get luxury loungers here, nor blockbuster new releases. Instead you get a unique experience, a more intimate setting, and cult classics and old films for those who are into the unconventional or just wanna go down memory lane. Dreamland celebrating their one year anniversary this month with $5 flicks, it was a cool experience for me and my bf this past weekend.

I somehow haven't written a review for this place yet but I have been seeing movies here since June 2022. I love coming here because they play great old or even not that old movies that I otherwise wouldn't be able to see in theaters. I saw The Handmaiden here last night and got a gose with guava(?) something like that beer and it was super good. I recommend checking this place out if you like movies and it is definitely limited seating in there so buy your tickets fast.

I don't want to say too much and spoil the experience, but this place is a fantastic addition to my neighborhood. A little independent movie theatre to suit all my eclectic film needs. Keeping little theatres alive is something I strive to do, as much as I can. They are located in what was previously the Thistle Dew Dessert Theatre. Hours are limited, so check out their website to pick a showtime on a Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. They also offer private showings based on their website. It would be best to buy a ticket on their website ahead of time because there are only about 25 seats. I recently visited to watch a showing of the drag documentary The Queen, which the Lavender Library (another invaluable place to check out while in midtown) had posted on twitter about co-hosting in January. We all had a great time!Dreams do come true. Website: https://www.thedreamlandcinema.com/

Such an awesome place. Reasonably priced to rent out for an event (birthday party). Very accommodating and the ladies who run it were very great and tolerant of the herd of screaming boys during the movie. Highly recommend this place as an alternative to a regular birthday party. Way more personal and custom.

We rented out this theater for our daughter's 16th birthday party and it could not have been better. The owners were super accommodating, the space was perfect for the size of the party, the teens loved getting a private movie to talk/cheer/laugh through, and our daughter had a fantastic time. Lauren and Tish were great to work with and we'll definitely be back to support their business. We highly recommend Dreamland for a party like this or if you want a cool place to go check out a movie in a smaller setting!
