Thanh Huong Food To Go

I've been to two banh mi shops in Sacramento and Thanh Huong is the third shop that I most recently tried.We have already been here twice in the past week.Because it's tucked away in the corner of a plaza, we didn't even realize of its existence unless you had drove further in. It is also close to one of the other more popular banh mi shops.For banh mi, I got the one with cold cuts. Taste-wise, I like the banh mi here more as well as their banh baos. Their Vietnamese desserts are also quite good such as the Vietnamese glutinous rice balls filled with mung bean served with ginger syrup and coconut cream.Next time, I want to try their banh cuon as they looked pretty good.Would rate this place 4.5 stars! Staff was also really friendly.

Catering review- Called in a catering order 3 days prior to event. Owner was accommodating and reassuring. Keep your paper receipts! We did have a couple of pick up mistakes but it was easily resolved with proof of preorder receipts. Luckily plates were made. Food:Banh Beo - 2 types. We didn't know the difference so we ordered both types. Delicious. Plenty of fish sauce given. Banh Bot Loc - delicious! Easy finger foods and it was a big hit for the guests. Goi ngo Sen - bamboo shoots in Vietnamese salad. Flavors were all there. Happy with the flavor balance. Picked up a side entree of caramelized pork and egg. Super good dinner to go!

It wasn't clear what the stir fry noodles looked like. I assumed it was egg noodles. It turned out to be clear noodles. My guests still enjoyed it though. Picture attached for reference.

This is a great alternative if you want banh mi or other Vietnamese fillings but do not want to wait in a long line at the other two more popular nearby sandwich shops. Have only had the opportunity to try their banh mi and egg rolls. The banh mi bread was good! It was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I would recommend trying! They are happy to bag the veggies for you in a separate bag if you don't want your bread to get soggy for to go orders. The egg rolls had very good flavor and was served to me still warm and crispy. Yum. For $1 an egg roll, it is a steal! There's not much decor inside, but that's okay because that's how you know they are there to sell you food and not ambience or other flashy stuff. The staff there is also very nice and friendly. A order at the counter type of establishment with some tables for indoor dining.I noticed they have a lot of party trays on their menu, and while I was there one time, saw at least 2-3 people picking up party trays. I imagine they get a lot of business in that area so something to look out for when you are having a party. :)3 stars for now as I haven't tried too many items yet.Will update review later when I get the chance to try more items!

This place is great to order for your big parties or for a potluck! We love the egg rolls here & it's always a hit. Our family loves the shrimp salad with pork also. They have a variety of items you can order from. Would def recommend this place for catering. Pricing is reasonable and the service is always fabulous!

The family's always come here for their baguettes and abundance of snacks they offer on the counter and on the menu. Usually it's pretty quiet, at least when I went. It seems that they do mostly catering orders and we definitely ordered a few times, mainly for their eggrolls. They're done perfectly and deliciously. The last time we ordered the Large chow mein for Thanksgiving. We saw the platter a few times from other people's order and it looked really good, so we thought we give it a try. If I remember correctly, it was $65 for the large. We were a bit shocked on the price and size when we picked it up. The pan was large for sure, but quite shallow. Mom was not pleased about it. We know everything has gone up because of the economy, but as long as it's good I guess that's all that matter. However, the taste of the chow mein was not up to par...it looked the part though. I don't know if it's because they were slammed with the holiday orders, but that shouldn't matter. There was no flavor and just nothing. Just noodles and some vegetables. We'lll be back for the baguettes and eggrolls, but not the chow mein.

Let me start with the customer service, it was great! The young man up front was very polite, friendly and welcoming. The establishment was clean, and not busy. Now for the food, I was really hoping it would be great, but unfortunately it was just mid. It was rather basic. The spring roll could've had a wider variety in toppings, something to give it more flavor. And the sandwich was just ok. The bread was delicious but I think the sandwich toppings and meat needed more flavor. With all the various sandwich spots near by, I'll try a different one next time.

Ordered a tray of egg rolls and they were pretty fire. Even cold, it still held its crunch. Would definitely recommend this place.

My sister said sandwiches from here are amazing and taste exactly like Vietnam. I came here to try number 1 and 2 sandwiches. The bread texture is not soft, not too hard, it is just perfect #1 The pate is so good; the meat is filled enough, the veggies delicious, and plenty of cilantro; cold meat and butter on both sides of the bread is what I loved the most. The sauce on #1 is 10/10.#2 It Taste good too, but the grilled pork is just a little bit salty for me, I think, because of the marinate. The black pepper on the meat makes it come out outstanding.The service is fantastic; they welcome each customer and care like family. The environment is clean and huge, and I feel comfortable!Recommended that everyone come to try out the number 1 sandwich and other foods, sweet dessert, ...

Food is always good and really fresh! My favorite place to order eggrolls and i always stop in for a Banh mi if i am close by.
