Thai Unique

Located outside the immediate downtown of Placerville, but not too far, Thai Unique is worth the drive over. It's got its own parking lot and spacious seating. When I visited on Fathers Day, i arrived just as they opened for their dinner menu (which starts at 4.) 3 other parties arrived shortly after and another 5 or 6 takeout orders were being picked up. My point being, this place is popular with locals! Nice decor and ambiance made it a pleasant experience and the food was excellent. I ordered the tofu and veggie ginger and a side of rice. My boyfriend got their pineapple fried rice. Portions were generous. It was on the pricey side for dinner, so a definite splurge but they do have lunch specials until 3. Make note they do close between 3-4 if you plan a visit,Overall, a solid choice in Placerville and while I don't come to this area often, I'd opt to dine here again.

This is a decent spot to stop off the 50 on the way to/from south lake. Food is fine, some dishes are better than others, but nothing memorable. The service was good. The biggest downside is the deteriorating condition of the dining room. We were sat at a corner booth with huge tears in the vinyl cushioned bench, along with a few other similar things throughout the restaurant.Will we be back? Perhaps if it's dinner time when we're passing through Placerville and it seems like the best option, but won't seek it out.

I'm gonna knock it down because I was so annoyed at my last meal here. I ordered the $13 steak salad (crying tiger). And the steak was so overcooked it was like jerky. It was also small in portion. They essentially gave me "nuer khem " over lettuce and a few slices of carrots and tomatoes. It's been months and I still think about it and go into a blind rage. Best Papaya Salad in town, and I love how spicy it comes, definitely a great place to chow down on authentic Thai food and it comes with great service guaranteed from my own experience! (:

The food is pretty good, I order Pad Thai with Tofu and Vegetables spicy!Serving size is average or a tad small compared to other restaurants I've been to. Staff is nice and the atmosphere is welcoming.

Excellent Thai restaurant. Good service and great tasting food.We ordered the papaya salad, spicy, and it was perfect. Great flavor, good level of spiciness. We also ordered the pumpkin curry with pork and the Thai noodle soup. All dishes were excellent.The best food next to a Tesla charger I've ever had. 100% recommend.

On walking in, first thing I noticed was that me feet were sticking tot he floor at every steps as well and my friend that was with with me. Felt like a greasy kitchen floor, where every step you took you had to peel your feet off of it. We sat down to a dirty table and had to ask for it to be wiped down. they did so promptly. However with a soaking wet rag and left it like that and it took us having to use the napkins to dry it off before being able to actual let our hands touch it. I've eaten a ton of Thai food. Normally, when you order a curry it comes standard with rice. NOT HERE. They charge you extra for rice at dinner. When asked about it. they mentioned rice is only included with lunch. This makes no sense. Their lunch was almost the same price and portion. Paying close to $20 for dinner for a curry dish, One would think you shouldn't need to pay extra for rice. Prior to leaving I used the mens rooms and promptly turn around and left as the Floor was completely wet everywhere from a leaking toilet in there. Very disappointed in the only Thai place in the local area.

I've been here twice, obviously not learning my lesson from my first experience. I ordered tofu pad kee Mao on both occasions and was very disappointed. First thing wrong is that it was not spicy at all. I'm not a huge spice fan, but this literally had no spice to it. Second, they bearly give you any noodles. And this is a noodle dish!! I got maybe half a cup of noodles and what i did get was severely overcooked and falling apart. Poor taste, poor cook, very disappointing. Perhaps my standards are too high because I came from the Bay Area, where Thai food is actually good. Definitely never coming here again.

First time here last night. Tried the Lemongrass Chicken entree and it was a good choice! I was so hungry I forgot to take a picture Being a chicken snob, I am very picky about my chicken. This boneless skinless chicken was marinated in lemongrass then grilled to perfection and moist inside. The amount of chicken was substantial, and piled high upon a bed of perfectly cooked broccoli florets and covered with delicious peanut sauce. This is the first time I have ever said this, but I would have liked a little more spice in the sauce. I never thought those words would be said by me! Overall delicious and a great value for the price. Spring Rolls were also good. Crisp not greasy and the filling was very tasty. Will definitely go back again when in town

The ThomYum soup was delicious and the fresh spring rolls are huge. Wonderful service.
