My husband, our daughter and I stopped by this park for a school project for our daughter's school. She was tasked to create a portrait made out of miscellaneous items. One man's junk is another man's treasure as they say, we found ribbons, balloons, and sequins left over from birthday parties, a feather, leaves and flowers as well! Her project turned out just as she envisioned! I would recommend this renovated park that boosts 2 playgrounds with swing-sets, a restroom, water fountain, covered picnic benches that can be reserved, a little library, basketball court, soccer field, tennis courts and a walking trail. Our daughter had a blast with the friends she met on the playground and didn't want to leave! We'll be back! SYOY! :-)

A park in Citrus Heights to go to if you have a large family gathering. You can rent the picnic tables and have the whole area.Lots of grass for the kids to run around on.There is a playground and average bathrooms with flushing toilets.Parking is a plenty.

Long overdue update for this park, which is one of my favorites in the Citrus Heights-Fair Oaks area.I'm happy to see that since my last review the bathrooms have been completely bulldozed and a new structure with individual restrooms has taken its place. Major improvement. The children's play area has also been updated, so that's another plus.If you walk the entire loop (including the additional section that was added more recently) it's about a mile. Perfect for walking your dog or catching up with friends. When they finally complete the bike path extension through this park they'll get my fifth star.

I like my walks. Sadly their are not a lot of big parks in Citrus Heights to do some walking. This park has about a mile of a trail. Too bad at the picnic area there are always some transients. It's not the safest walking alone. I feel ok if I'm walking with a friend.During the day there is a lot of people with dogs and kids so it feels safer.

This is a great park. I've been coming here since I was a kid and I have so many fond memories of this place. Now as an adult I enjoy walking my dogs and letting them run in the spacious green soccer fields! Of which this park boasts not only one but two soccer fields. The field toward the rear of the park has permanent soccer goals. Upon entering the park's parking lot the park appears small but it is actually deep and larger than it seems. Also there is a network of streams throughout the outskirts of the park which my dogs like to drink from :-) This park is nestled between some quiet residential communities and also has several park entrances through neighboring courts off of Larwin Dr. So you will often see kids and families playing at this park. Moms like to come here in the afternoon because it has a jungle gym for the little one and its usually not crowded during the weekdays. The weekends is a different story. This park is typically packed on the weekends! There is a picnic and BBQ area that can be reserved for parties, adjacent to the parking lot. And the soccer field in the front of the park almost always has a game in session. The only reason I didn't give this park 4 stars is because its right next to a electrical plant and its so close that you can hear the hum from the electric towers. The noise can be a bit disconcerting and erie.

I love coming to this park. I work not far from here and I take a walk almost every day during my lunch hour to come to the park and make a loop around the paved path. Much of the path gets shade when there are leaves on the trees and there are a number of entrance paths from side streets adjacent to the park. It is always peaceful and pleasant and I definitely feel safe walking here alone. Granted, however, I have only been here during the day. I have not experienced issues with dogs running amok. I think that any time I've seen someone with a dog, either the dog was on a leash or the owner made sure that the dog did not accost me if it was loose. I have never come across any dog droppings. They recently completely demolished the old restrooms and build a brand new facility. Since I have never been inside I cannot speak to that, but the outside looks great and I know for a fact that it is brand new (within the past six months to a year). The park has a good-sized covered area with picnic tables and also a few additional tables that are not covered. There are some BBQ grills. There is a kids' play area with jungle gym-type stuff to play on. There are some large grassy areas perfect for playing sports or just running around, and tennis courts at the far end of the park on the Fair Oaks Blvd side. I have found the park to be well maintained. They keep the grass cut and generally keep the sidewalks clear. Sometimes in rainy weather the sidewalks get covered with puddles and mud, but this gets cleaned away after it dries out.In short, I greatly appreciate the Rec Dept maintaining this park and I feel fortunate that it is available to me as a peaceful green place where I can take a break and get some exercise during my work days.

I've lived in the area many many years and sad to say Citrus Heights doesn't take good care of this park. It was wonderful years ago but has become overrun with idiots thinking its a dog park. They love to let their dogs run off leash and look stupid when the dogs either threaten u or try to sniff u. Not everyone feels safe when an unknown animal comes running after them! Also these dog lovers love to have their animals pee and poop on everything they can. It stinks out there it has become so bad. Thanks dummy's and thanks to our wonderful city leaders as usual.

I wouldn't call this park the best in Citrus Heights and surly not the best in Sacramento. I live up the block from this park and take my son here when we want to go out and I don't want to drive. But at times I think about it and the drive to another park. This park at times can feel borderline unsafe. This park is dirty most of the time at the playground. There is trash in and around the playground area. Animal feces in the grass. There are ALWAYS homeless people hanging around or sleeping under the gazebo near the children's playground. The playground equipment is a boiler even when it's not so hot because someone thought it was a great idea to place the children's equipment in the most direct path of the sun. So majority of the time the equipment which is on the highest spot in the park is now boiling from the sweltering sun beaming down on it.

I've been coming to this park for over a decade. My review is probably higher just because so many good memories were made here. While beautiful and almost whimsical, it has some questionable characters lurking around! I come here with my two babies, in a stroller, and sometimes feel unsafe and vulnerable. I try to come before sunset and watch my daughter run around and enjoy the playground. A few times now I have had a few close calls with dogs off leashes. It's actually frightening to see a pit bull literally charging at another dog or a child while their owner screams how "friendly" their dog is. No, keep your "friendly" dog away from me! I wish they would tighten up and follow the rules. It is a beautiful park and I will continue to come here, with caution. I do wish the city had a bigger involvement with upkeep and perhaps, an officer patrol the area more so moms like me, feel safe taking my babies out for stroll worry free!!!
