Tasty Hawaiian BBQ

"Too tasty, I'm addicted."Best Loco Moco I have ever eaten! Even better than the ones I've tried in Oahu and Maui!Rice is cook perfectly sticky. And Macaroni salad is bomb! Chicken Katsu Is crunchy and savory, totally tasty!

Ugh, it had been too long since my only visit and I forgot that I didn't like this place when I tried it. Forward 5+ years later and looking for chicken katsu DoorDash delivery at my work. High ratings but same experience as my last time. The chicken is such poor quality that it's stringy and questionable at best. I like the crunchy breading but I'm hoping upon hope I don't get violently ill later on. I thought the Mac salad also tasted sour.

Found this place on Yelp that was close by to my work place that I wanted to try out for lunch. I was able to call to place the order before heading over, which was really convenient. I ordered a Hawaiian BBQ plate that came with veggies, a scoop of white rice, and a scoop of Mac salad. The total was surprising for the amount of food I got! Definitely a cheap and tasty meal and my favorite go to place for Hawaiian food in sac!

I love Hawaiian bbq and this place was just a treasure. Did you know if you sign up for their loyalty program, you get 50% off a plate on your birthday? Not only that but the prices are so cheap, even without that loyalty program. Essentially you get the same hearty meal as other Hawaiian bbq places but at a much lower price. I love this restaurant. I got the chicken plate and man it was full of flavor. I didn't even need the cup of sauce they gave me and actually saved it for other meals instead. I ordered my plate and the wait wasn't even that long I think I got it within 10-15 minutes. The portion was also huge so the one plate was about 2-3 meals for me. The ladies helping me were super nice too so I'd definitely come back.

Things that were good;-Price: $11 for a combo plate is awesome-Serving Size: Plates are heaping and they don't skimp on proteins-Rice: Extra fluffy, not too stickyThings that were NOT good;-Mac Salad: Was room temp, made me nervous about food safety-BBQ Beef: Chewy/overcooked with parts I couldn't bite through. Flavor was excellent, however.I'm unsure if I caught them on an off day. May check out again if nearby as the price is right.

Ordered through UberEats. The food arrived within promised time. Huge plus. As far as food, my go to is always Kalbi short ribs. So you already know that's what I ordered. The beef was slightly rubbery and could have used more flavor. The bbq beef slices were pretty flavorful. The Mac salad needed some oomph so I had to shake some black pepper. Hubby ordered the chicken katsu. The dipping sauce for the katsu was just okay. I'm still on the hunt for some good, good Hawaiian food. So if y'all have a recommendation please let me know.

Sacramento is very fortunate to have its fair share of Hawaiian BBQ restaurants. And this place, "Tasty Hawaiian BBQ" is no exception. In fact, it is one of the better spots I've eaten at in comparison to the more popular places such as "L&L" and "Ono". Located in the South Natomas area of Sacramento, Tasty Hawaiian BBQ has been in business since 2018. The best way to find this place is that it is right off of Northgate Blvd. and tucked in between the Arden-Garden connector and W. El Camino Ave. The parking lot is shared with several small business as well as a 99 Cents Only Store.As far as the inside at least during my visit (on Sunday 6/19/2022), indoor dining was closed and everything was takeout only. Even though it has only been opened for a few years, it had an old school hole-in-the-wall feel to it. The large menu directly behind the main counter was large and easy to read. Here you will find several options including family meals, regular-sized meals, mini meals, appetizers, rice bowls, and tropical smoothies. Since I wasn't craving a full-on meal, I ended up going with a ""BBQ Beef" mini meal while my +1 went with their "Teriyaki Chicken" mini meal. These were priced at $7.99 which is quite a good deal considering the sharp increase in food prices.Within less than 5 minutes, our meals were ready. They were conveniently placed in a styrofoam container complete with one small teriyaki sauce and utensils. Since the weather was very cooperative, I drove to a nearby park to enjoy my lunch. After opening up the container, I was impressed with how generous the portion was for the mini. This included several very hearty cuts of beef complete with moist white rice, creamy macaroni salad, and buttered cabbage. The flavor was out of bounds amazing as the beef itself was seasoned to perfection. The macaroni salad also had excellent flavor while everything tasted superior to some of their major competitors out there.After factoring in the service (which was excellent), prices (also excellent), and most importantly the food taste and quality, I am giving "Tasty Hawaiian BBQ" a solid five-star rating. I've been to quite a few amazing Hawaiian BBQ restaurants around Sacramento, the Bay Area, and Los Angeles and this place definitely ranks up there at the top of my list.

Good Hawaiian bbq portions are huge one combo is enough for 2 people I would love if the ribs were cut with scissors before plating them would make them easier to eat

Not bad for a hawaiian food thats being owned by asian people.. i like their chicken bbq and mac but wish they gave more .. keep it up and always make em delicious ok

My husband placed an order and I picked it up. As soon as we entered, no one greeted us. Customer service was not great at all. Two ladies were sitting in the front just starring at us as we walked up. I told them we were there to pick up and gave our name. The younger lady started checking the bags, then proceeds to snatches it and pushed it to me. There was no thank you,come again, have a nice day. Nothing! Then when we get home, I opened it up and noticed there was no seasoning or sauce at all. The food was so plain and dry I could barely swallow the beef. Sadly this was my first time and will be my last. I did indeed say thank and bye as we left. I definitely did not feel welcome there. Portion of food was big. But they can really work on customer service and seasoning the food. Mac salad had a sour taste to it.
