When I saw Tasty Dumpling opened a new restaurant close to Arden I was thrilled. I would regularly drive to their Curtis Park location for dumplings. The one thing that I have to say about Tasty Dumpling is that the food is consistently good. The Arden location was no different. This casual dining restaurant has soup dumplings which are my favorite. They were juicy and the skin is thin with a good amount of meat. My next go to is the green beans, I love the crunchy fried garlic mixed in the green beans. Today I also tried the egg drop soup. I was pleasantly surprised, it was flavorful with a lot of egg. We also tried the shrimp dumplings, I enjoyed them also but my go to would still be the soup dumpling. I also noticed that the menu had a larger noodle selection. I will definitely be coming back to try them out. And a side note. The service was good. This is a more casual restaurant where you order at the counters and the food comes out when it's ready which works well for my family .

Today, a coworker and I decided to check out Tasty Dumpling. I ordered a bowl of Hot and Sour Soup and Pork Xiao Long Bao. The Pork Bao was absolutely delicious--we both loved the flavors, the pork, and the dumpling wrapper. The broth inside the dumplings was delicious, perfectly complementing the pork filling. The Hot and Sour Soup, however, was a disappointment. I was surprised to see it on the in-store menu since it wasn't listed online, so I decided to give it a try. The portion size was much larger than what I've seen at other restaurants in the area, but the soup itself fell short. The temperature was way too hot to enjoy, the broth was bland, and the tofu and mushrooms tasted like they had just been thrown in without fully blending into the dish. To make things worse, at the bottom of the bowl, I bit into a clove or pepper packet that was absolutely atrocious and completely destroyed any remaining hope I had for the soup.Overall, I would definitely return for the dumplings but I wouldn't order the soup again! The service was great--the same person who took our order also brought the food to the table, and he was super friendly. The atmosphere was relatively quiet, with just the usual background noise from other diners. The restaurant has one unisex restroom, a single outdoor table, and several indoor seating options.

We visited Tasty Dumpling Sacramento at noon on a Saturday, and the restaurant was surprisingly empty. Despite the lack of customers, there were about eight workers in the back, busily cooking away. This setup suggests that the place might be a popular spot for grab-and-go orders.Upon arrival, we were greeted by a friendly staff member at the door. We placed our order upfront at the counter, choosing the soup pork dumplings and a side of egg rolls. After ordering, we were given a number and allowed to choose where we wanted to sit.The soup dumplings arrived at our table quickly, but unfortunately, our egg rolls never made it. We had to remind the person at the counter about our incomplete order. They apologized and promptly made the rest of our order, although the additional wait time was a bit frustrating. The soup dumplings were decent, but they didn't have as much flavor as I had hoped. Overall, it was an okay experience, but I've had better dumplings elsewhere. While it might be worth a try for its convenience and quick service, Tasty Dumpling Sacramento didn't quite hit the mark for me.

I gave in to my craving for stir fry green beans after trying it at their first location (Crocker Dr.) and decided to check out this location! It's located off Howe and Fair Oaks Blvd, has a small parking lot but a bit more space indoors compared to their location. Because it's newly opened, the wait time for ordering and receiving food can take a while due to high volume of customers. It took about 30-40 minutes to order in-person and wait for takeout. I recommend calling to order ahead of time if you are not planning to dine in.Unfortunately, the employee at the front was responsible for being a cashier and waitress at the same time. With the long line of customers waiting to order takeout or dine in, and seats already filled with customers waiting to be checked on, it seemed very overwhelming for her. They should've had at least two people up there during their grand opening period to properly handle these rushes. The food was good and plentiful, can't really go wrong with stir fry green beans and some rice. I didn't get the chance to try their dumplings but I'd like to come back and dine in when it's less busy!

This location just opened by our house. The menu is extensive but doesn't specify vegan/plant based items.Fortunately our server at the counter was fantastic and helped us navigate the menu to order a very nice dinner. The broccoli and green beans were phenomenal. Each of the items was prepared fresh and served very hot. The vegetable dumplings were our favorite. The red bean buns were also very tasty. Overall very nice meal. Will come back again.

Had to go to the new Tasty Dumpling location because I love the original location and this one is much closer to me which I am so happy about. When you walk in you order at the counter then they give you a number if you are dining in and you choose your own table from what I could tell. I ordered takeout and it took a bit, however since they just opened it wasn't a big deal.I got the pork xiao long bao, traditional xian noodle, and a thai ice tea. The pork xiao long bao I felt like didn't have quite enough soup but the flavor was great! The traditional xian noodle was a cold noodle in their chili oil sauce that was pretty refreshing. Their thai tea was also pretty good but just a little too much cream in my opinion. Overall I thought the food was pretty good and that this place is a good addition to the arden area.

I have been here 3 times now, it is a nice addition to the Sac State/Arden area. It is in the brand new development on Fair Oaks boulevard and Howe. You order at the counter and they give you a number. The restaurant has a sleek, industrial vibe to it. The service is friendly, but they are still getting their feet wet. I have had the Pork Xioa Long Bao, Shrimp & Pork Xioa Long Boa, and the Pork potstickers, all three were excellent. I have had the Zha Jiang Mian and the stir fry wide noodles. Both were good, but I like Zha Jiang Mian better, it tastes to me like spicy spaghetti. I had the pork bun, which was steamed, I prefer them baked. The Stir-Fry Green beans were awesome, and they give you so much, that you need at least 3 diners to finish them off. I also enjoyed a beer while dining there, but I think they need to add options for non beer drinkers such as wine or cider.

We love tasty dumpling! We would always go to their other location on Crocker and were super excited when they opened one closer to us. Claudia helped us ordering and she was super friendly and attentive. She made the most experience amazing! We had stir fried noodles, xao long bao, beef roll and papaya salad. The papaya salad was soo good for restaurant quality. It reminds me of what I make at home! The xao long bao has so much souppp. It was amazing! I'm definitely coming back!

First off, let me start by saying I love supporting local businesses, especially those that are Asian/female owned so this review saddens me. Ok let's get into it. This is the second location opened by Helen Zhang, as her first location is off Crocker Rd in Sacramento. I walked in with an open mind knowing this place just opened.Upon entering one isn't sure if we seat ourselves or order at the counter then sit. After a couple minutes we realized you order first. The male employee helping us seemed ok at first. We go sit down and after a couple minutes I noticed my plate was dirty. I handed him my plate, when he came back I asked for our drinks. He came back and said sorry we're out of ice. I thought this was strange but didn't think much of it. The food was good and bad. We ordered the pork xiao long Bao, steamed buns and cucumber salad. The xiao long bao was the best. Thin skin, savory filling and lots of soup! Bun was pretty authentic too. The cucumber salad, however was awful. So bad in fact I didn't even bother taking a pic. As we were eating I noticed the customer next to me got a drink with plenty of ice. After the male employee dropped off our drinks he never checked back in with us. I don't know his name, he had dark hair and looked disgruntled. I don't know if he had a bad day or just doesn't like his job. Definitely lent to the overall meh experience. All in all, will not be back. Too many dumpling restaurants in Sac to drive out of my way to eat here again. Ambience 4/5Food 2/5Service 1/5Overall score 1.5 out of 5

The food tastes authentic, the interior was modern and clean, but the overall vibe was a bit strange. The ordering process is the fast food restaurant type: order up front, pay, then you seat yourself. There is only one cashier and register, so the line gets pretty long despite the tables being empty. It would be much better if another register or self-or kiosk was there. The service was a bit lacking, you can tell they haven't received much training or experience yet. We ordered 2 spicy pork xlbs and 2 regular pork xlbs. Somehow we ended up getting 3 spicy pork xlb and 1 regular pork xlb. When we tried to tell the staff, the communication went awry and we ended up settling with what we got.On top of that, the xlbs came at separate intervals. If we ordered 2 of the same items, wouldn't it make sense to steam them at the same time, then receive them at the same time? Unfortunately, that did not happen for us. Our spicy xlb arrived in the beginning, and near the end of our meal.
