Drove by and saw that they were open, so I decided to drop by for a quick lunch, and quick it was.The service was pretty fast. The staff were all nice and friendly. I ordered an al pastor super burrito and it came out quick. The burrito was quite big and couldn't finish and had to take it to go. But there was lots of flavor in the pastor. The only thing I forgot to add while I was eating was salsa. Speaking of salsa, there was a self served chips and salsa bar with lots of options. Chips were fresh and warm and the salsa that I had was flavorful, just not spicy but that's okay. The menu is pretty big, with lots of choices.I even think I saw a menu with alcoholic beverages like margaritas and something about happy hour, but I didn't look into it; I was too hungry. The place is quite spacious with plenty of seating, good for groups. Definitely worth trying out!

Breakfast burritos was delicious, hot fresh and salsa bar amazing. Authentic Mexican cooking by family owned restaurant. Huevos rancheros was made to order and hot and fresh! My son had tacos Birrias and ate them all so yummy. Services in español and in English. Friendly and helpful.I keep coming back. lol Newly remodeled and new owners. Music and seating great.

When this place was Cilantros, we ate here every once in awhile and it was great. Our go to order was always a carne asada burrito and carne asada nachos. The nachos from Cilantro's would be filled to the rim and be difficult to close. We miss Cilantros.Valentina took over and we finally tried it this week. What a disappointment. We ordered our go to items. Our carne asada burrito was very soggy. Like it was dripping from the bottom. It tasted "okay". The nachos were sparse. Not many chips, no jalapeños, actually not much of anything. The roof of the container was bone dry, that's how little chips you get. Which is odd because they offer free chips at the salsa bar. So disappointed. So if you love soggy burritos and nachos on 6 chips, this is your spot. We will be going elsewhere for our Mexican food cravings.

Eh, not a good sign when the pollo deshabrado is so soggy on the super nachos that it disintegrates the tortilla chips under it.Wasn't really impressed with the al pastor soft taco either; overcooked-rubbery with only the slightest hint of sweetness. The carne asada soft taco was better but that's not saying much; kinda on the bland side as well with no char taste but it was tender.No taste of cinnamon at all in the horchata. Kinda watered down too.On the bright side, the carnitas super burrito was pretty decent. Good proportion of ingredients and the flour tortilla used was sturdy with a nice light chew. Succulent carnitas even though it wasn't very porky-flavorful.The chips at the salsa bar were crispy-fresh. Salsa-wise, not much standouts except maybe the salsa de molcajete; quite bold in taste though a little overly tangy.Friendly cashier gentleman. Taqueria is located in a high-traffic compact plaza (same plaza with Fujiya).

We used to come here when it was Cilantro's. The new owner has a very extensive menu and very good food. You get chips, salsa, cabbage mix, hot sauces, very clean and neat. They will make refried beans without lard for vegetarians out there. This is our go to place for Mexican food. Very nice people, very clean. They have Mexican drinks, and flan for dessert. Come check them out. Have a good day.

Place has best burritos around and friendly service. This is my third visit and they made a mistake on my order. They went out of their way to make it right. Thank you!!! Highly recommend to everyone and I'm picky and hard to please.

Went here a Second time because the first time I went I ordered the combo plate with a Chili Reno and red sauce chicken enchilada. The Chile Reno was the best I've had in Elk Grove. I'm very picky when it comes to my chili Reno as I compare it to my grandmothers homemade at home. The restaurant offer a lot on the menu, as well as breakfast. The Salsa bar has plenty to choose from beside salsa, including napales (cactus), peppers, radishes, more than you see at other side salsa bars. My partner got the Albondigas soup. He said it was so deliscious. Will come back again for it. Should check this out it you live in Elk Grove, one of the better authentic Mexican restaurants around. The owner is nice and welcoming and they will make other extra food or sides for you if you ask that is not on the menu. Great Accommodations. There is plenty of seating and there is a tv to watch if you like. Go try yourself!

Ordered the Carnitas Super Wet Burrito. Surprised when it came to not see the guacamole and sour cream in piles on the side. When I asked for some I was told it was inside the burrito. That's a first?! The majority of the burrito was filled with beans, very little meat and I didn't see or taste any guacamole or sour cream. I was surprised the employee didn't offer me more on the side. The flavor lacked homemade, but tasted more like canned sauce and old oil! The hubbie didn't like the fact they did not have a pico de gallo salsa. Probably won't come here again. Hope they read this and learn the things they can do to improve. Overall...La Favorita is still number one! I'm still shocked she didn't offer me sour cream and guacamole as I write this. Oh and a humongous chunk of fat in my burrito that was filled mostly with beans

Every item that my wife and I have tried has been excellent!! It is our new "favorite Mexican" restaurant. The service was friendly and fast.Ok - the ambiance may be a little lacking - but with food and pricing like this who cares!

Had the super burrito pollo asado and it was very good. Free chips and salsa bar, the pico de gallo was also very good. Big step up from Cilantro's.
