I was trying to find a decent place for lunch near the Convention Center, but sadly, this place fell short of my expectations. There was a lot of speculation and mixed reviews, but since I was in town, I had to try it out for myself with my friend next to me. First things first: the location of this taqueria is quite in a sketchy neighborhood, north of all the other places within Downtown Sacramento. In addition, the parking is not sufficient enough, and quite small that it took me three times to get out of the parking lot on its own. The service was very well kept, as they were attentive without being intrusive, ensuring that everything goes smooth and enjoyable. They are knowledgeable about the menu and more than happy to provide recommendations, catering to both regulars and newcomers with equal enthusiasm. The promptness with which orders are taken and delivered exemplifies their commitment to maintaining a high standard of service. However, the culinary experience at Taqueria Jalisco was marred by the oversalting of their tacos al pastor. The marinated pork, while perfectly cooked and tender, was overshadowed by an excessive amount of salt that detracted from the dish's rich flavors. This misstep overshadowed what could have been a flavorful representation of classic Mexican street food. Additionally, some diners noticed that other items could benefit from a better-balanced seasoning approach. Despite the flavorful salsa selection and well-prepared sides, the main attraction should showcase balanced and harmonious tastes. Nonetheless, the inviting atmosphere and commendable service make Taqueria Jalisco a notable spot, one that could truly shine with more attention to seasoning intricacies.
