Our first and favorite hot pot so far here in the area. They always have a good amount of tables filled up, but the waitress always comes and checks how we're doing and if we need any more food.3rd time coming here and we all tried different soup bases. We've learned NOT to gorge ourselves on the sides and noodles, so had a lot more meat servings than before. Our favorite is the Angus Brisket and the fattier Kobe Beef. They cook so well in the broth and the amount of fat on them aren't overpowering. The sides are also very good, with our favorites being the mushrooms and the shrimp balls. All the ingredients are super fresh and taste great. Will keep coming back!

Yesss! Right into highlights - AYCE Shabu, got option A to enjoy the succulent Angus Ribeye, Tonkosu broth (spicy or regular per your preference), and Vege Bowl for a good mix of vegetables to go with your own hot pot. Option B with Kobe Beef is good too but doesn't "melt in your mouth" as their Angus Ribeye does. CRITICAL to know that they follow traditional Japanese business hours, meaning they're closed from 2:30-5 PM (learned the hard way).Found the closest spot to Blue Oaks, Roseville that resembles a decent shabu similar to those we've become accustomed to in SoCal! We've been in the hunt for a good shabu spot since moving to Roseville and few months ago. This Folsom shabu spot is the diamon in the rough we've been searching for. Plenty of parking, plenty of seating for small and large parties, nice selection of meats and vegetables for AYCE shabu, Ponzu sauce available for a classic mix (garlic, green onions, but keep in mind no radish), and free green tea ice cream to close out the meal. Hot sake and other drink selections for your pleasure.Comfortable ambiance, clean, plenty of seating space, and the most important part that made us decide to try this spot - YOU GET YOUR OWN PRIVATE HOT POT for your cooking pleasures! Not into sharing Hot pots and broths that other shabus have going on near and around Sacramento. This spot honors privacy and convenience of having your own broth to enjoy! Good idea to call ahead of time to reserve for parties greater than 5, but not necessary. Service was FAST! Staff was attentive, on point, friendly, and this is a great restaurant for gatherings with friends and families.Wonderful shabu spot, highly recommended, and now this is our go to for all our shabu craving needs! Shabu is life and we'll be coming here for years to come. Kudos Tao's owner and staff - incredible business and grateful to have you close by!

Vegetarian review! After having had their course B meal for the last few years with my parents, I finally tried it with my vegetarian wife and kids. While it is not advertised this way, It is a very good deal at kids pricing of $19.59 per person for vegetarian eaters. I do wish they would half that for my 6 year old son since he is vegetarian as well and $20 for a vegetarian kid is a bit much. However, my 3 year old gets to eat here for free till she turns 5 so it's a wash for now, haha!We LOVE the food/ingredients here for their vegetarian hot pot! It's very healthy to have so much vegetables mushrooms prepared fresh! Yes it is possible for us to buy these ingredients and do hotpot ourselves, but they are already prepared. The sauces are unique and a large selection to choose from to make your meal a completely different tasting experience every time! The fried appetizers AND a scoop of green tea ice cream are also included. Service is still great as ever, and their prices have not changed since inflation has gone up so much in the last 2 years! So if you are vegetarian and wrote off Tao's hot pot, think again! Remember to mention you are vegetarian to the servers and they will help you with vegetarian selections. In case the language barrier is there here are the strictly vegetarian selections.Soup bases: mushroom and tomato (they wouldn't charge you for the other bases if you are not strictly vegetarian, I've had miso)Appetizers: sesame balls, fries, croquette (if you want to try potsticker and takoyaki, you probably can but ask first)Sides: starting from Napa cabbage down are all vegetarian! ( I've had the chance to try 1-2 none vegetarian sides like quail egg and shrimp balls and they were fine with it)Pro tip: if you are not fully vegetarian, read the (section) above! Happy holidays and see you fellow vegetarians at Tao's!

Always clean. Staff is quick at getting items out and continuously check in if you need more meats/vegetables. Wish it wasn't so far away or we would come more often. The broths are rich and nit bland. Yum yum

First time visiting here. Walked in to a half filled location with conversations and people enjoying their meals. We were seated about the minutes later, views the menu and chose to go with the meal choice B. They have three options to choose from. Which all include an appetizer choice, up to 3 meat choices or seafood and then you can pick two sides at a time. They do not allow to go meals from these dine in options and they say a 90 eating time frame. Once we got through our ordering our meal choices were brought out fairly quickly. And the place continued to get customers arriving to dine in. Every thing we chose was good in quality, I want to say the meal selection we picked per person was about $38. As an all you can eat option. Over all a cool place to try out, nothing to fancy in decor, windows do fog up with all of the hotpot's steaming though lol.

Food was great and lots of room inside for a large group. We were a party of 8 and kids. Everyone gets their own pot but the order of meats and sides are shared which i absolutely love. I think everything is great but service is slow. Also check your receipt. They already include tip so no need to double tip.

I was pretty shocked to see a place in this area had hotpot AND the high reviews. We ended up coming here as a group after one of our tennis matches, and the place was popping! We had a group of 10 people. Waited about 30min to be seated.WOW. This place is a hidden gem. Well, not so hidden if its super busy haha. +1 Soup base was fireeee. Esp the mala one. Tasted super authentic!+1 Meats were fantastic. Shabu quality and really great marbling. What a steal!+1 Veggie options were plenty and very fresh! Overall, I was blown away by this place. I was SO stuffed leaving here, but I crave more just by thinking of it. I would love to come here again.PS: We got free ice cream at the end and it was SO good. Holy! We wanted more, but it was already last call...or else they would have given us more. Next time!

This place was just okay. Broth was meh, meats were good, other toppings were alright. Service was good! Did it scratch the hot pot itch? Yes. Would I shell out a hundred bucks for date night here again? No.
