Tacos Chapala

I always pass by here and I never stop, most of the time I see 1 or 2 people. Last night I decided to stop and just my luck THERE WAS HELLA PEOPLE ORDERING!! Fml. So I was looking at the menu and some of the stuff I never heard of or seen. It sucks because there was something called "Quesatacos" and I wanted to order that, but they ran out of the tortillas they use to make a quesataco :( that sucks. I ordered 4 tacos, two tongue tacos, 1 birria and one Suadero, honestly idk wtf is "suadero" and thats the reason y I ordered it. Suadero was beef and to be honest, I really wasn't feeling it. The birria and lengua was good tho. They gave me a little cup with broth for the birria taco. The tacos were good the broth was flavorful. Te only tacos i didn't came much for was the suadero one. The wife ordered a burrito, she got the lengua. In her burrito people, geez stop thinking dirty! Lol she thought the burrito was alright but, then again shes very critical when it comes to burritos cuz she loves em. I recommend you guys try this taco truck it was pretty good. They were kind of busy so they were. Little slow but the food was hot the tacos were fat and they were flavorful. I'd come back again as a matter a fact i will be back.

The tacos Al pastor here are Fuego. Very delicious and accompanied by all the right accoutrements--cebolla, Chile, lime wedges. I also tried suadero and tripas and they were on point as well. The only thing that was not up to par with my taste bud standards was the torta de lengua (texture was much too soft). But this is a taco truck after all, so maybe tortas are not their forte. Service was good but keep in mind this is a taco truck next to a freeway exit so don't expect a friggin maître d' to take your requests. Overall 5/5 because I came for the Al pastor and it did not disappoint!

I've been going to the original Tacos Chápala in Stockton for a couple years now. When I heard that they were coming to sacramento, I was so excited! I finally got to check out this taco truck and while I love their food, their menu is a really condensed version of the original location, it really doesn't do it any justice. This taco truck is cash only as well. The truck will do in a pinch but I would rather go to Stockton for the full menu and salsa bar! Pros: love their tacos, the tripa was just like the Stockton location. I love their asada in both the burrito and tacos. Cons: they don't sell the California burrito (I understand that it's extra to run a fryer in a taco truck) but it's my favorite. They had a very limited selection of salsa, which is my favorite thing about them. The variety of salsas in the salsa bar in the Stockton location is the best.

This place really depends on who is working. If you go for lunch the food is amazing, everything is cooked correctly and they don't short you on portion size. If you go in the evening it's a completely different experience. There is a tall guy who works the grill and he doesn't cook anything fully and the portions are pathetic to say the least. I even asked specifically for my tacos to be crispy and they were completely soggy. If that guy is working the next time I go in I will just walk right back out. Not one time have I been satisfied when he is cooking. And when I called to get a refund the last time when my request was ignored they refused to answer the phone.

Always catches my attention getting off or to the 99 freeway off Stockton blvd. Had to give it a try, there is so much mexican food popping up more often now and I'm digging it. Food was cooked to order, so that was a good sign ordered their Birria tacos and quesotacos (asada). Their sauce could've been a little more spicy but flavor was good. I liked their tortillas tasted fresh. The quesotaco was good, tortilla was crunchy and cheese was melted properly. On the other hand, the birria Taco was confusing, had a salsa picante on top, and for a small cup of the consume (broth) it was half way filled, I mean real small cup don't be stingy guys. Broth was bit oily but flavor was good, the actual meat itself was chewy, didn't really like it. It wasn't tender at all. I took one bite and chewed for a good 3 minutes

The birria quesatacos are lit!!! I was passing through one day, decided to stop! I originally was going to order a carne asada burrito. While waiting to place an order, I asked another patron what do they recommend, and she said the birria tacos. *I presume that everyone knows what those are-the tacos that went viral on Instagram in Summer 2020*. If not, then they are tacos made like a quesadilla, loaded with cheese, beef that's been simmered for hours-with lots of flavor, herbs, and seasonings-, onions & cilantro! Then fried to a crisp in a chile sauce (that's made from blended Chile's & the cooked with the beef to make a broth aka Consomme). Served with the Consumme on the side to dip your tasty fried taco into!!!

I tired to come support the business because I seen them being advertised on instagram. I arrive to the business and tried to place my order and the young girl acted like she could not hear me or understand what I was saying I repeated myself 3x after that I not going to repeat myself I gladly left. Drove all the way from Roseville wish I could of tired the food but I'm so big on customer service I went back and I would like to say I'm disappointed they don't have Puff Tacos. Instead of them just advertising them on instagram they should say at our restaurant only...‍‍‍

The al pastor tacos are delicious and excellent customer service and quality of food !

Food was super salty! I thought the food was going to be good because it looked delicious on instagram, but not it was nasty! I threw the food away!

Used to go here in stockton, chain tried to spread but pandemic stopped the expansion. No longer see this truck here anymore.
