Food, atmosphere and customer services was excellent. We had agedashi tofu, soft shell crabs and cream cheese jalapeño as appetizers. We share 3 types of rolls ocean crunch, almost perfect and New year something (forgot the name). And, bento box with chicken and gyoza, hot sake and two hot tea. The cream cheese jalapeño wasn't spicy but has the jalapeño taste. We like it. About the rolls- I love the spiciness on the new year roll. The almost perfect has lemony top it was so refreshing, if eat this last to clear your palate. It's not overpowering lemony taste, it just perfect- just like the name. The ocean crunch was oceany delicious. All for $94 before tax- my daughter's birthday dinner.Everything was delicious and fresh. Place was clean. No craziness outaside, we were there last night, Sat at 7.30-8.30. Food was served on time, sake was hot and smooth. Ask for small, enough to share among 3 people. Highly recommended, go here today.

Sushi Yo has been a spot I've driven past many times and always thought about trying. The opportunity came when my friend came to town. What we ordered:* Escolar nigiri ($8.50): Pretty fresh, large cut of fish over some rice. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/sushi-yo-sacramento-2?select=m5iWHgmB8OoAPS_HCgMvoA&utm_campaign=www_photo_share_popup&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=(direct)* Negi Hama ($8.50): I liked this basic yellowtail and scallion roll, however, there was SO MUCH RICE. See here for reference: https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/sushi-yo-sacramento-2?select=7rFzkSzowG9Dz6GclkLYYg&utm_campaign=www_photo_share_popup&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=(direct)* Lily Ace ($14)* 49ers ($14)* D-10 ($14)The last 3 specialty rolls were decently sized and topped with a ton of sauces. 49ers were my favorite.PRO: - Variety of options on the menu- Clean- Quick service - Conveniently located for meCONS: - Large rice-to-protein ratio- Unprofessionalism: While we dined, we couldn't help but overhear the conversation going on between the sushi chef and a patron sitting at the sushi bar. No issue at the beginning when they were chatting about travel however, it later shifted to the patron reading another Yelper's negative review of Sushi Yo and the chef complaining about how that Yelper was lying etc etc. Definitely, a conversation to have in private, if at all - it's unprofessional to talk badly of a paying customer with a bunch of paying customers dining around you. In summary, I really wanted to like this place. Witnessing the conversation going on was definitely offputting though :/ Food-wise, I'd say the sushi quality is a solid 3.5 stars...

We came here on a night that wasn't too busy. (The Sacramento Kings was playing m, so everyone was in town). Though some pictures look nice, the quality and expectations wasn't there. The food came out really long; and just to be clear we asked if our food can come out as they made it because the kids were hungry. But they put the boat all together anyway, which is fine. But it was about an hour after the order. And again, the place wasn't crowded and there were no crowds that came in the same tie we did. We ordered a oyster shot and it came in these huge wine glass. Usually it comes in a shot glass. The shot was on the arm side for some reason. We noticed the boat came with lettuce leafs instead of the traditional shiso leaf every sushi bars has. Reading the past reviews hyped up the place for us, but we left a little disappointed and hungry. Though our server was nice and greeted us well.

One of the best sushi spots in Sacramento area. I'm sad that I found it so late as they are moving to a new location. The moment you walk in through the doors you are greeted by the friendliest people and the smiling sushi chefs are happy to see you even though they seem really busy. The nice lady seated us in right away and brought out iced lemon water. The environment is peaceful and maintained to very clean standards. We ordered two sushi rolls which both were the best sushi we had in awhile. Even though we waited for our sushi rolls for about 20 minutes, it was well worth it as we got time for the delicious sushi they kept bringing out. Definitely a new favorite and will follow them to the new place.

Great little joint! Was happy to be the only diners one evening, and tried not to keep them open too late!Sat at the bar, had great service. I love watching the chef work his magic, and this one did not disappoint.Tried a couple of lovely pieces of sashimi, generous portions and nice cuts. Had The Raptor - I'm a sucker for a torched roll and this one was bomb! Had the Foxy Mama for obvious reasons, and also liked the Pikachu with its lovely mango!Solid place. Food sat well, and got great service.

We came here because it was convenient to where we were for the evening. Nice customer service but the quality of food is what I'm rating. Previously frozen fish dominates the sashimi board and fish is not grade A. The garlic edamame was the highlight! Would come back just to drink a beer and eat that all night. Cheers!

Went here for dinner with some friends. Didn't have high expectations because didn't check Yelp prior to. To me, it was mediocre. Ordered the chicken udon and it came out piping hot as I requested but the broth was really too sweet for me. I was still able to eat it but not the best. Service was good. Overall didn't seem very authentic.

The roll in the first photo was I believe the salmon drop (10/10 would recommend) the second was the dragon rollI'd say it was a (7/10) but that's because i prefer a bit more flavor and wasn't into some of the fish it included mainly due to consistency. However all the fish tasted fresh. Would def try the sake and beer pictured in the photo! So good! They both were yummy and went down so smoothly. The ambiance was nice, clean and the staff was attentive and courteous. A huge plus is they have so many options to choose from! Definitely a must try if you're in the area and craving sushi!

I lived around the corner from this place for 7 years and never tried it. From the outside it looks very unassuming. Located in a strip mall next to a liquor store and a laundromat I was expecting a teriyaki chain. I was very wrong. Sushi Yo has some of the most creative rolls, freshest fish, and really creative vegetarian offings I've seen. Always had great service and the interior is beautiful. I hear they are moving near Arden and I hope they continue their legacy
