Star Ginger Food Truck

Not bad for on campus food considering the Silo doesn't have much to offer besides Shahs and Taco Hell. Lines are usually long around lunch time but the food comes out quick. It's a food truck so the prices are gonna be a little up there which people complain about. But what do you expect? It's fresh and light but also filling, so it gets the job done and you don't feel as gross like it you were to eat a "beef" burrito. It's hard to come by Asian food on campus that's decent and somewhat tasty so it's a win win. I've tried just about everything here. My favorites are the chicken tacos and the chicken curry over rice. Their spicy aioli sauce has just the right of spice to it. The combos are a good deal because you get a bag of chips and a Thai iced tea. The tacos are a little small but definitely filling. Portions vary from day to day, sometimes they're generous and other times not so much. Again, not bad for on campus food but if star ginger was elsewhere, I wouldn't even bother.

I LOVE banh mí sandwiches, this is not a good one. First off, no pork options already had me disappointed, but the bread, THE BREAD, was one step short of cheap supermarket bread. No crackle, no pop. I took one bite and immediately had to discard the rest, it just didn't taste good. Which is something I rarely have to do.

Never again: I ordered lemongrass tofu - zero lemongrass flavor you might as well just call it a tofu rice bowl. There were 5 tiny cubes of tofu in the bowl and the rest was mostly just rice and iceberg lettuce. For 12 dollars I would expect some more protein.

Let me start by saying I love food trucks and love supporting local businesses.We ordered the tofu banh mi and some fries. This was hands down literally THE most disgusting sandwich I've ever eaten in my life. Airplane food is better than this. I wish I was exaggerating. I don't think the owner has ever had a banh mi. It was dripping in an orange "Mayo" sauce. The tofu was old, shriveled, unseasoned, and not remotely hot. There was no cilantro, jalapeños, fresh carrot or daikon. It had old grilled vegetables on it??? Grilled onion and red pepper ? Who does that to a banh mi? The bread was completely un-toasted, stale, and still managed to be soggy and fall apart from the orange liquid it was drenched in. My red flag should have been when I asked the owner if he could put extra cilantro on it and he said: "no. I have my own way of making it because people ask for it without that sometimes." Like what?!?! The food looks nothing like the pictures. Not even close. Not remotely the same ingredients. A person without vision in a subway could throw together a better sandwich than what came out of this truck. I was absolutely starving, but this was so disgusting I couldn't eat it. One star for the hot flavorless unsalted fries with a few flecks of paprika on it. Save your money. Get a packaged muffin or something from inside the Union.

The Thai chicken here is good. The taco is alright, nothing special. Thai tea is decent and as good as any other place.

Their Thai tea is still good 4/5 because my friends say it's too sweet. I thought it was fine

Terrible!!! Their so rude and don't understand what the customer actually wants, after telling them I DID NOT want yellow chicken they still gave it to me and said oh well thats what you ordered. They wanted to charge for terriyaki sauce so I wouldn't taste the curry and just really rude and said oh well. SAVE YOUR MONEY! There are wayyyy better trucks than this.

Sorely disappointed.I came to Star Ginger really excited to get their Thai curry chicken rice bowl and Thai Tea because I remembered it being really good. They used to offer the rice bowl and beverage combo. But not anymore. The menu said that the price was $8.99 "*beverage and tax included."I took one star off because I ended up paying $9.25. I don't mind paying the extra tax or whatever, but it just seems a bit deceptive to me that I ended up paying more than what their menu said. My receipt said they added an extra 25 cents for a "custom item," which I did not order.I took another star off because the meal was supposed to come with a beverage. They used to offer Thai tea as an option. Again, I am fine with them just offering water or a soda, but the person who took my order never even offered me a beverage. He waited until I was at the other side of the counter and for me to ask him before he gave me a water.Lastly, I took another star off because Star Ginger is just not what it used to be. I used to love getting their rice bowls because the side salad was really good. It used to be a sweet dressing, but now it's just a dressing that tastes almost like Sriracha mayo (?). I wasn't a big fan of the salad. Like other people have said, you should probably go to another place before coming here. It's not as good as what it used to be. I'm sorry, but I won't be coming back again.

I hate to give a bad review but the menu is down to 4 main dishes and two sides. At $12 for bland thai chicken over rice and $3.50 for two 3" Spring rolls, also flat, I will only choose them again next time if I don't want to go farther for food. It's satisfactory as a quick meal out of desperation but not flavors that will bring me back like when the tacos were on the menu.

The food was ok but I was really shocked by one of the workers there. I have a hard time paying attention and didn't know where to pick the food up because it was my first time. After a while I figured it would be done and went up to the window and the lady literally said "we called it five times and it made everything super confusing" Seriously? Poor customer service.
