Please email me for details, as a good person who was raised Greek Orthodox Catholic and had two children there, my biggest concern is the 1st grade teacher who has no communication skills. The principal who unilaterally makes decisions without knowing all the facts until after the fact. Otherwise it's a nice school. My son wasn't challenged and both children tested in the high 95% percentile on the Star testing etc., but it's more of how issues are handled that made me put 1 Star. The church is beautiful, the priest is kind and relatable (I've actually started enjoying going back to church more often). As for the school I'm insisting the issues above, but a handful from my experience were great. The kinder teacher Mrs. Jessee was amazing, my children asked me to have her come to their graduation from Med school haha. The gym-Ms. Crowder, music-Mr. Kitchens, and Tech - Mr. Wilkman were wonderful people, and teachers respectively. My last experience with the 1st grade teacher was pushing her politics, discussing the Texas shooting with children in the class and simply as stated above horrible communication. I know posting this will burn a bridge but it's the truth. As for costs, I will say they are in the middle. My children were in Merryhill for Preschool and Pre-K for 3 years and it was expensive but some of the best experience. Merryhill is about 2k a month per child. We couldn't manage the elementary with our schedules and after school care, so we thought St. Elizabeth was close and costs a little less 2400 for both would be great. It was ok, until as mentioned the experience with the 1st Grade teacher Mrs. Darlene Fermin. Since then, we made the biggest mistake in keeping our children there. Benefit was making sure we tried to get to church more for their classroom mass and events.I have heard great things from a Doctor and friend that St. Ignatius is wonderful all around. I don't know what else I can add, at this point I hope this helps another family.

After having a horrible experience in public school myself I decided on private school for my children. I can say that this school is AMAZING! A wonderful, nurturing and supportive environment to be in. We have been here for 4 years now and my son loves it. Teachers are kind, loving and caring. Staff is supportive. Peers have become family and the religious instruction has been wonderful. Can't imagine going to another school. AND, the principal has a beautiful heart. She knows EVERY child's name, she stands outside and greets the children everyday, sets high standard for the children of which she also meets herself, and stands outside in the pouring rain to cross children across the parking lot. I can say that she has a heart of GOLD and I love her for what she does and most importantly my son loves her very much. She always has a smile on her face and is as supportive as she can be with every child. God bless the staff and everyone at this school that makes it run so well

The teachers are very unqualified. They almost never update grades. We were lucky if grades were updated once a month. Principal never followed up any complain and was clearly not qualified for the job. Teachers tell you to go ask your parents for your homework instead of asking in class. If you think you want to put your child through this school, then you should think again unless you want your kid to be unprepared for the rest of their lives. If we could put ZERO stars, i would.

I hesitate to call this a Catholic school. In my opinion this is a paid public school, only much worse. Zero ethics, zero morals and zero respect for parents, children and even other staff members with no oversight. I brought numerous issues to both the teachers and the principal's attention, which were either dismissed or ignored. Anyone thinking of enrolling their child should seriously reconsider and ask why 7 seven staff (including the Vice Principal) and over 30 students left prior this school year. Some of the issues you can look forward to: inappropriate language, bullying, uncredentialed teachers teaching your child at sub par levels, inexperienced USF staff as instructional assistants....and wow!!! get ready to do group projects every weekend, which teachers would rather dole out like candy than actually instruct. Teachers and principal do not respond to emails. Up to 38 kids in a class (in some cases) and horrible classroom management. Staff have repeatedly been overheard trash talking kids and other staff members, with no regard for privacy. Prior post indicated the school just wants your $$$. That is absolutely correct, especially if you try to check on your child's progress/welfare. You are not welcome in the class. Front office secretary is very rude and dismissive. Please do not rely on just my post. I encourage you to ask the principal serious questions. I'm sure you'll get various flowery answers. What you will likely not get is any concrete resolution and likely not the truth either. As Catholic Christians, it is our responsibility to uphold the highest standards of our faith, especially in our parochial schools and the religious education of our children. This school falls far short of that, and it fails from the top down. Good luck.

We have been a part of this school since 2009- when our first son started preschool. We have been extremely happy being a part of this school family. My son will graduate from 8th grade in the spring and then our other son will be in 6th grade. There have been ups and downs and changes within the school, but I can say that I have faith in the school and especially the Principal. The school is what you make it- and my husband and I have been involved in whatever way we can. We want to help make it the best place we can for our kids. There isn't a school that will be perfect, but we have enjoyed the 10 years of being involved with the school. We look forward to the years to come.

This is one of the WORST private schools in Elk Grove. A bad environment to learn, grow, etc. I have seen so many teachers be so disrespectful to students and they expect them to be perfect when they did absolutely nothing back. Do NOT bring your child here unless the school gets their stuff together immediately. So many parents pulled their children from this place because it is a corrupted school environment where no one cares about anything but money, power, etc. They don't want to help your children, they want to get their cash and leave. Some of the middle school teachers are the rudest people you will meet. Hopefully you won't. 6+ teachers have resigned from this job that where there from the VERY start, simply because of the work environments they were put through. One of the nicest teachers was driven to resign from the school after being bullied out of their job by co-workers. I have seen it myself. NOT a good place for your children's success!

It is a very good school if your child is a good student. However, if your child needs some extra help, one would be impressed if all teachers will give extra effort. So much for President Bush's "No child left behind" policy. It is one thing to teach discipline to a child if the child made a mistake but to discredit one's work totally because of a mistake is a very hard thing for a parent to accept. If your child will require special assessments, accommodation, the school does not have resources to have your child be assessed professionally. We have our child assessed outside of the school and pay for it, Not all teachers are not great, most of the teachers are excellent. One time my child did not realize he forgot to bring home a book. So we hurried back to school and luckily there was someone inside the classroom. It turned out we were not allowed to take anything from the classroom after school hours, even if the same person inside the classroom will get the book for us since it was school policy. So I asked if she can ask the principal if she would be allowed to get the book for us and again we were turned down this time by the principal. Enough said, I felt my child was not meant for this school. I thought being a Catholic school would make you think that it would be best for your child being able to learn Christian values and practices, thinking everyone in the school would have a higher set of moral values and the same time being able to practice your faith. We try to practice ours just by expecting to treat each other like a Christian would and expect to be treated just the same. If only I have more options, I would have taken my child to a different school. My child still goes to the same school and we just take it one day at a time and take it with a grain of salt and not to loose hope and always hope for the best as any parent would do for their children. At least the children can get to pray in school. These times God is being taken away in the public arena, where mention of God in the public square would be considered politically incorrect,
