Spitzer's Walnut Room

This place is an awesome dive. Cool bartender. Dark. No hipsters. Please don't come here and ruin it, but if you're looking for a real deal dive with a cool vibe and strong drinks (and low lights!) this is the spot. Hidden gem for sure.

This is a great old school bar which we absolutely plan to visit again. Popped in for a couple of (tasty) Bloody Marys and we were not disappointed. Had we known that posole and taquitos were going to show up we wouldn't have stuffed ourselves at The Stagecoach first!Great service and can't beat the drink prices.

Dark, Dingy, good stiff cocktails, touch tunes, cash only just like I like it. Nice place to sit in the corner and be out the way. Had a few drink and played a few songs and went back to my day.

This place can be tricky to find, especially if depending on Yelps directions. There was a bouncer outside and loud oldies music blaring, which was all fine. Once inside it was the definition of a dive bar. Dim, run down and outdated. The crowd was mostly younger people so it doesn't appear to be the same low-key neighborhood bar previous reviews mentioned as from my understanding it came into new ownership not too long ago. The cons were very minimal seating. It's a small bar but I think I saw a total of 5 bar stools. It's kinda ghetto and that takes a lot for me to say as I've been to plenty of sketchy places with no issues or feeling of tension in the air. The pros were decent drinks, prompt service and decent prices. Would I come back, probably not. If you're looking for a low key dive bar, this is not it. If you want a DJ'ed dive bar then give it a shot.

Tony was AWESOME!!!!! Recommend a special margarita that was AMAZING! Plus his customer service was warm and welcoming! Go and ask for Tony and ask for his special Margarita!

Was looking forward to trying this place! Tried to go by last night! Google and Yelp said they were open, sadly, they were closed. I'd recommend to call beforehand.

Ever since this placed changed owners it's been a whole different vibe. I don't really go to bars much because of the typical characters you tend to find at the some of the bars in Sacramento. When my wife and I went here we felt welcomed. The bar was packed but the wait wasn't bad. The service was all that you could ask of a packed bar. Prompt service with a smile. My drink was stiff, so I tipped well. They had some beer specials but I was drinking whisky. I'm glad to have this place around for when I'm feeling "thirsty" for an adult drink. Hopefully they will keep it up. This place has come a LONG away since the old owners and now I'm proud to have it around. If your in the area give it a try. I might have to start going by here before I go grocery shopping.

Great spot to hide out. Was out house hunting and was looking for a neighborhood bar nearby. Holy shit! Found this little gem hidden away in a shitty strip mall. Had no clue as to where to enter until I saw all the beaters sitting outside. Slithered in like everyone else that was there, mind you it was maybe two in the afternoon. Place is dark af inside. There were some people, one who I assume must be the owner because he was sitting with a cute little chick talking numbers with a laptop. The bartender was an older lady who was kind of a mess. She couldn't pay attention if she wanted to. It didn't matter cuz I was doing my own thing. Only issue was that I couldn't get a refill. Who knows what goes on here at night but I'm dying to find out. With a name like this and the location, who needs a speakeasy?? Check it out. Update and let's see what's crackin. If I lived in the area, I'd hit it.

Driving through Sacramento after meeting my cousin that I haven't seen in a couple of years. We wanted to have a beer. But not the chilis bar. Not the fancy Scott's seafood bar. We wanted to be with our fellow Californians. SomeMight say a Dive Bar. This place was it. Outside there was Lowriders and a Corvette. The smell of Cali Green permeating in the parking lot. As we walked in not knowing what we might find..... we found smiles. Laughter. A good time. We grabbed a beer. Had a seat. Watched some NBA highlights and reminisced. The crowd was dancing and laughing. The bartender was attentive. Within a few minutes Joey the owner stopped by our table to welcome us to his house of libations. We couldn't have been happier. We came into the right place. If you need a beer. A good local crowd of all shapes, sizes, and backgrounds. This is the place. I would absolutely stop here for a cold one and a good vibe again. Such an awesome time at The Walnut room! Loved this little hole in the wall, bartenders and patrons all made this such a fun place! I will recommend and return!
