I've been here a few years ago as regular dine in before they did buffets and I'm unsure if it's new management or not, however, the place has been nicely renovated inside and food quality was also good. It's in a small plaza with plenty of parking next to a Dollar Tree. May look a bit sketch outside but the inside looks nicely updated. Couldn't even tell that's what to expect upon entering from the outside. The ambiance was calm and mellow, not chaotic like a typical buffet. It almost felt like a gather with family where everyone's to themselves sitting and not alot of talking. Intimate in a sense but not really because you're still sitting around others amongst a bit open atmosphere table to table.I noticed they offer both options during dinner hours. Buffett or regular dine in where you order dishes of entrees. Which is a nice thing. Service was nice. The waiter, host, and servers were attentive being sure to make their rounds to ask if everything was okay. Quick to refill food and come grab your plates. There wasn't as much options but just enough option of their main dishes. Which was fine to us because each dish was cooked fresh and flavor was a hit in every dish. Their chicken masala aka buttered chicken curry, is a must! Me and my son said we'd ordered just that Togo if we're ever craving it. That's all my child ate there. lol all three rounds. Their stew options were pretty good. The meat was so soft and tender it fell off the bones. Love all their aromas in their rice and other dishes. Rice was fluffy and soft. I've had hard rice grains at other similar places. They leave a pitcher of water at your table. They didn't offer knives at the buffet line with the other utensils if you needed one but I'm sure you could ask for it. I've been to other Indian restaurants and their spices can be a tad much overpowering, but not here. Theres has a nice aroma to their flavors but you wouldn't taste all that spice, it's nicely balanced. I was surprisingly impressed by my experience and the food. I would be back and plan to.

Wow the food has gone terribly downhill.. this was one of my favorite restaurants with the old management. I've been coming here for a very long time with my family and friends, a regular if you must say. Also had a couple events there when it was still under the old ownership. But now with the new ownership, the taste in the food is just not there.. they USED to have flavorful food and amazing chicken tikka masala . But now I can't say the same. Came back to give it a try and the food is dry, lacks spice and flavor or is overcooked. And the dessert.. was watery! The milk tea just didn't taste great either. I'm very disappointed. I've seen a couple familiar faces with the staff and they're still very nice. I do miss the old tables and chairs too before the new renovation. The old chairs were far more comfortable too. Sorry if I'm being nit-picky but I'm just being completely honest.. I should've went by our friends and family's judgement that even they miss the OLD Spice of Life.. I don't think I'm coming back

The standout dishes here were the fish pakora, chicken tikka masala, and nann to dip into all of the delicious sauces. We all loved the cool mint chutney to balance the spices. Mixed reviews on the lamb curry. My husband said his was tender, but my brother and sister-in-law chewed on tough pieces for so long. The ambiance felt like a festive banquet. I'm sure lots of celebrating happens here. It's huge, clean, and bright inside. The outside of this place does not match the inside. The doors are blacked out and some of the lights are out on their sign. I believe it said "Spi of Li" the night we went. The area looks sketchy as well. The great food and friendly service outshine the rest, so I'll keep it at four stars even though the outside looks deceiving.

I have been here several times but I ordered take out this time, there chow mein is favorite thing there. If you're not spice fan I would recommend letting your waiter know to mild it down or no spicy. I wasn't a fan of mango lassi and daal here unfortunately. They do have a lot of vegetarian options though.

This update is based on the new ownership. This place used to be a staple and one of our favorites but here's just a few updates the new ownership should make:Buffet choices - bring back a bigger selection of Chinese dishes. They only have chow mein and chili chicken. They no longer have the mongolian beef as part of their buffet menu which used to be a staple and was so good. Naan - although Naan is still included in the buffet it used to be fresh Naan that would be brought out in a basket to each table. The Naan in the buffet lineup is never fresh tasting nor is it warm. They also do not offer garlic Naan as part of the buffet option.Dessert - you should mix up the dessert selection. Each weekend we've been there they only have halwa. What happened to other dessert items such as gulab jamun?Sizzling platter - this is included in the dinner buffet but last two times the platter was unavailable or was brought out at the end when we were stuffed and ready to leave. Not a single person working there made mention of the platter nor did they offer it to us. So if you don't know - now you do. Keep a lookout for the sizzling platter and if it's not there than ask them to make it.Price point- the new owners have upped the price of the buffet to a ridiculous amount. The lack of variety and the quality of the dishes and the inconsistency with the sizzling platter doesn't justify the price in my personal opinion. If you know what dishes you want, check out their stand alone menu and see if it's cheaper to get them as a standalone. They also no longer allow you to do standalone and buffet. It's either or for the entire table. Drinks are not included minus water. Overall review - It's still a good restaurant and new ownership and settling in and finding a routine that works does take time. If they consider customer feedback and read yelp reviews that would be great!
