SPD Market

Visited Feb. 17th..see receiptI have been coming here for years when I want premium New York steaks or a Cowboy steak. This place as a whole is going to be more expensive overall (especially in their fruits and veggies section). They also have a great deli and good selection of wines that are often on sale.I like that they have a decent selection of organic produce and dry foods. There is also a post office inside this store!I usually shop at Safeway for most of my stuff but the meat department is still the best!Btw..the tall skinny (scruffy) guy that waited on me was rude. He certainly was not one of the regulars in the meat department!Still 5 stars because usually everyone is courteous and helpful!

SPD market is a small, local feel grocery store in Grass Valley. They carry a lot of local and smaller brands, which is great, and have a nice meat selection. We purchased a variety of their in house made sausages from the meat counter, and grilled them for dinner. They seemed to be of good quality, and were a special treat for us while visiting the area. They're fairly well stocked, and overall have everything that you need in a grocery store. I only take one star away because their prices on certain items were above market rate, and I chose to pass on certain items I would normally purchase because of that.

SPD is an above average grocery store with an excellent butcher and deli counter. I always find what I need.

A good pit stop for some hot or cold food from the deli, snacks, and beverages for the river. They also have a public restroom too which was nice.

I just got home from SPD I purchased a sandwich there from the deli and it was not good at all I asked for a sourdough roll with salami and all the fixings and I got home and whenever I took a bite of it the bread fell apart it was dry and flaky so the bread was old and the pricing of it 3 weeks ago I paid $5 and some change and we could go I paid $5 and some change and today I went and it was $7.49 it didn't say that they were on sale the last weeks so I don't know but I was very disappointed in the sandwich

Absolutely not the lines were extremely long today they did not pay attention when checking out they were not quick fast they don't know how to bag. It was so slow today at 3:30.They had no Braggs apple cider vinegar in the large what's going on I walk out of there and it's an $80 bill for 15 items that weren't supposedly high Did not purchase Any meat nor produce nor alcohol no cleaning products or other extras!Not again that was the worst stop in my life

More than just a grocery store.SPD's connection and involvement with life in Nevada County is evidenced by their continual community support of worthwhile projects that benefit everyone, even if you don't shop there. SPD also hires the handicapped and disabled, which requires extra management attention but they do so gladly because of a commitment to the community. It would be hard for me to justify not shopping there, if I could live locally again. SPD is First Class.

I usually love spd they have some of the best sandwiches in town but I recently went in and saw they hired known rapist Noah Cotter and while I can't say I won't be shopping at spd I will be taking my business to the nevada city location as I don't feel comfortable going in or bringing my girlfriend in with me hope this is fixed soon!

Love this store and the wonderful deli! Hey egg salad done well says it all. And the deli prices are very reasonable. The store carries more than you can imagine- not a discount store but really great selection and service.

Butcher is the very best! So accommodating. Went out of their way to handle my special order which the big stores don't usually take the time to do. Great personal service. Thank you!
