Super fun spot with kimbap and hot plates to go. I would dare to say one of the best grab and go spots in all of Sacramento. I narrowly made it into the restaurant and staff and patrons bustled around the tables in the narrow place. Reminiscent of an old skool lunch counter, Korean fusion was on every happy customers plate.I decided to go with the spam kimbap, bulgolgi kimbap, and what I can only simply describe as a Korean take of lou ro fan (Taiwanese soy pork belly over rice). I added extra mayo to the egg and spam kimbap to kick up the flavors and calories. The register is in the back and they don't serve coffee. Meatball banh mi sounded interesting for next time.

In a nutshell; small neat place to try good food. Can also grab pay and go as well. Can get a little crowded and cramp a bit but still a pleasant experience, staff were all great, food is good, and would try again. There is a small lot available on the side to park but can get filled easily if busy. Kind of reminds me of very local eatery places in local Japan. Overall neat place if you don't mind the limited space and still want to enjoy some good food.

Recently visited for lunch. Affordable price compared to a lot of other lunches downtown. Easy to find parking, a good amount of seats within the restaurant. I ordered their tomato and meatballs with an egg. The meatballs were flavorful but I really liked their pickled veggies that came with it, which I thought gave it a nice touch. I also ordered a side of their pho broth. That was so delicious, I really wished I got their pho instead to be honest. Next time I visit, I know what I'm going to order. All in all, I enjoyed my time at southside super. If you're in a time crunch, they have already made items that are quick to pick up and go.

This was my second visit to Southside Super. I was greeted with a warm welcome from the crew when I walked in. I picked up a few things from their case and decided to dine in. The gentleman helping me went over what I ordered and was very helpful with answering all my questions regarding the menu.

I had eaten in this space before when it was June's Cafe. I entered the restaurant and I walked by the cold case and ordered at the register in the back. I then grabbed some self serve water and grabbed a seat. They want you to order before you sit down. I sat on one of the 2 seat tables opposite the counter. I ordered the Kimchi Fried Rice with fried egg. When i started eating it, it almost seemed too salty and tangy, but as it cooled down, it tasted much better. I shall return to try some of their other offerings. Parking on the street is 2 hours, so I did a lap around Southside park after my meal.

Such a cozy comfort food spot. I visited on a rainy day and it's a vibe. The place is not big with a few tables and bar tables. You can grab and go or order off the menu as well~ service is fast and very friendly. Staff came around to ask us how we are doing and made sure we loved everything.I got the Bulgogi lunch box, cucumber salad and spam Kimbap. The lunch box is quite the substantial meal itself, I got way too much food for one meal. The kimbap is flavorful, I love the filling to rice ratio. They are made with love and very delicious~ I missed out on the egg sandwich so I'll definitely comeback for it!

South Side Super is a gem of a grab-and-go market, perfect for anyone looking to pick up fresh, flavorful snacks or a quick meal. From the moment you walk in, you're met with a fantastic variety of options, including several vegetarian choices that make it easy to find something for everyone. I can never resist their kimbap, but I recently branched out and tried the egg salad sandwich and cucumber salad. The egg salad was creamy and satisfying--exactly the kind of comfort food I was looking for--and paired perfectly with their crisp, refreshing cucumber salad. If you choose to eat in, you're in for a treat with their house pickled jalapeños, which add just the right kick to any dish.Though the seating area is small, it's cozy and inviting, making it worth arriving a bit early if you want to snag a spot. However, if you're on the go, their food is packaged perfectly for takeout, and the quality remains just as high wherever you enjoy it. The staff here is also fantastic--they go out of their way to make you feel welcome, and the service is consistently friendly and attentive. Overall, South Side Super has become a go to spot for me, and I'm already looking forward to coming back to explore more of their menu.

This place has a lot of hype and, unfortunately, I'm just not sure why. I tried the bulgogi kimbap, commoners rice, cucumber salad. I didn't enjoy any of them. The kimbap was bland. I don't like how the pork belly was cooked in the commoners rice, but that's probably more of a personal preference. I thought the fat was chewy and gross. The cucumber salad was way too oily and the flavor was off. Overall, my family liked the commoners rice the best, though. I know it's a small space, but it just felt uncomfortable in there. Hardly any space to walk past others. Parking wasn't an issue. We parked a block away, but there was parking in the small lot available. I don't think I'll return.

I've been able to visit Southside Super twice when visiting Sacramento, and both times I loved it! For my recent visit, I got the spam kimbap & braised beef short ribs. The spam kimbap is so simple, but super delicious. Worth grabbing. The braised beef short rib was also super good! The sauce was rich in flavor, and the beef and potatoes were melt in your mouth. Kimchi was a good side to to help balance all that heavy rich flavors. Service is also super friendly too. One thing to note is that the space is small and a bit cramped, so be wary of that !

Transportive, that's what places like this are. You slide into Southside Super and you're immersed into flavors, smells, and steam not found other places in Sacramento. I wanted everything on the menu, but settled with a bowl of chicken pho and a kimchi beer. The broth was light and the veggies fresh. The pickled peppers with it were perfect. I really enjoyed the beer too. Can't wait to come back.
