The fried chicken is da bomb! I ordered over 200 pieces for a large party and everyone loved it. The restaurant was very accommodating as we needed our order slightly before they officially opened but made special arrangements for us so we could stay on schedule. I love this place and their service!

You know when you crave something but you don't wanna make it cuz it takes soo much time? And also you want it now?!!! There is not a lot of Filipino restaurants here in Sac like the bay. Womp womp... We have been in Sac for a minute and have always been searching for a good Pinoy spot. honestly, there is not a lot but we found South Villa and we are happy. Came here literally 1 minute after they open and you can tell this place gets a LOT of party pick up orders. We ordered Kare Kare- BOMB! Laing, amazing!!! Lechon kawali was not the best. It was chewy and was thinly sliced already. I'm used to the thick and crunchy, juicy goodness. i think it was air fried but needed a little more time.Ambiance is typical Chinese/filipino restaurant with a touch of aloha. Would love to try this place again. Masarap! I was legit happy and satisfied my craving!!

Food is decent for homemade Filipino dishes. The bisstek & fried chicken was the best we ordered today. Next would come the kare kare & the calamari! (Surprisingly). Sinigang could have used a touch more flavor. I would have preferred the calamari (appetizer) to come out before all the dishes, but it came out with all the dishes actually. Service was friendly. Ambiance is a total Chinese mom & pop fusion type restaurant. Come & support this local biz. I would come back if I lived in the area.

One restaurant where I can get all my favorite Chinese AND Filipino dishes?!? Heck yeah, thazzz what I'm talkin' bout! South Villa Restaurant is the real deal. They serve up very flavorful, home-cooked-like options. Today I was given the opportunity to enjoy a yummy luncheon with my family to celebrate August birthdays. Everything I ate was sooooo tasty from Pancit, Bulalo (beef broth soup), honey walnut prawns, sautéed vegetables, crispy sweet n' sour beef, Kare-Kare and more. There wasn't a dish I didn't like, yep it was that good. Service was great, this family owned restaurant feels very "home-y", such cozy ambiance. Our server Kevin was super attentive and provided great service. His family owns the restaurant and you can taste the the love in all the food they offer. Heads up, they offer catering so keep them in mind for future family parties! I'm excited for my next visit here!

I overheard that this place will be closing, if not already closed. We pre-ordered some food for Christmas Day 2024, and when I got there to pick them up, our order was not ready so I sat and waited for it. While sitting there waiting I overheard the son of the owner talking about the restaurant not for him, and that he's not sure yet what's going to happen. It sounded like they have already taken inventory of their equipment and others so they would be ready for anything. But bottom line is, the place might be closing. It is a shame though cuz I love their food. If they continue on, I definitely recommend this place

It was delish food. Ambiance was meh, but don't expect too much with Chinese food. Just good old Hong Kong style food. I'd def go again.

We got some food to go and the portions were so small? We got the lunch specials and took it home and when I opened it, I was quite surprised on how small the portions are. I've been to plenty of chinese restaurants and it was definitely not worth my 13 bucks. Even panda express gives out more in the plate. I definitely wouldn't recommend any take out, not sure about dine in. Barely any chowmein and barely any sweet and sour chicken. I had high hopes for this place because my husband use to come here as a kid but no, this will definitely be my last time coming here. This was only 5 bites in. Definitely not worth coming here for your buck.

I haven't been to South Villa in many years but today we were craving sinigang and this was the closest Filipino restaurant that serves it and was open today. Bonus points for being on Doordash too so we didn't even need to leave the house! I was able to order before they opened, then they confirmed the order as soon as they opened and it arrived on time and piping hot!All of our food was packed securely which was especially important since we ordered two soups - sinigang baka and hot and sour. These portions are closer to one person only, unless you have other food you are sharing then it can be good for 2-3 people, although there isn't a ton of protein to share between everyone in the sinigang. So if you are looking for family style make sure to order multiple. The sinigang broth flavor was good and packed with ingredients. The hot and sour was spicy and your standard hot and sour you can find at Chinese restaurants. I was most excited about the sizzling sisig but I wish the meat was chopped smaller like traditional sisig, and it was also a bit oily. The menu also said it was spicy but I did not get any hint of spiciness at all. It turned out to be my least favorite dish of the meal. The lumpia was nice and crispy which is hard to get when you're ordering delivery. I just wish it came with sweet chili sauce instead of sweet and sour sauce. Overall this place has a great variety in their menu, but I'd probably only return due to its nearby location (or doordash capability) and if it was the only place open.
