My wife and I came here on a drizzle-rain winter evening for the first time were excited from the reviews of this place. The inside is quite small for indoor seating and they have spacious out door seating but obviously can't be used when it's wet. The place is ran like a well-oiled machine as far as table turnover and food running goes. We've experienced bigger restaurants with less efficient systems so it was a joy to experience. You have a chance to get a free meal on the house if you pick the Joker out of a 52 card deck when you pick your order number. No dice for us tho. The food was delicious! Burgers were massive cooked medium unless asked otherwise. the mini beef wellingtons were OK, I'd say they were an acquired taste. Loved the criss cut fries and even though I'm not a huge onion rings person like my wife is, they were some of the best ones I've ever had. Also, loved the balance of flavors in the heap salad but just wish they had feta to replace the blue cheese. Looking forward to more trips to this spot and highly recommend as a top tier local burger joint!

This is a local business. He is very kind and welcomes everyone with a smile and a warm greeting as they enter the restaurant he even goes from one table to the next to check on the people waiting for their food and also enjoying their food. It was my first time here, but my family has come quite a few times. I was absolutely shocked by how amazing the food was. I wish I had come here earlier. We decided to share a burger and sandwich and they were kind enough to split them as you can see in the picture. We ordered two kinds of fries, and I really loved the rosemary, sweet potato fries. We were actually very impressed by the steak sandwich, although this place is known for their burgers (we ordered the mushroom Swiss burger)Another interesting aspect of this place that pushes it over the top is when you make your purchase at the counter, they tell you to pick a card if it is the card of the day you get a free meal .Hope to be back soon thank you Skip

This is the quickest I've been served. Called ahead to order. Parked and walked in. Place was packed with a line to the door. Okay, that's like five people. No available tables. Kitchen humming. I hear the young lady behind the counter say, "Pick up for Dave."I reply, "Here!" And she spreads the deck of cards. If I pick the Joker, the meal is free. Stepping to the side of the counter to pick a card felt like a pass at an amusement park.I paid and after a quick exchange with Skip, headed home.Nice to see the restaurant so busy. Clean and everyone enjoying their food. Bacon cheddar burger was perfect as always. The onion rings were golden brown and delicious. I may stir some malt into my chocolate shake.Thanks to Skip and crew for another great meal!

My last review was 11 years ago and I am here to say i still love these place! Carmicahel is so lucky to have Skip and his family. The staff is always welcoming. It's always clean and seating can be difficult but opens up quickly. The beer is always cold. Burgers are the best there is. That's it! You can't tell me any other burger better. Cooked to perfection, seasoned, and topped with fresh ingredients. The soups are are always yummy. The salads are the best k love them all but steak is my favorite. The shrimp appetizers are delicious. Great milkshakes! I always get garlic fries extra garlic bc I love garlic.If you haven't tried Skips your missing out! One day I'll pull the joker! Iykyk

Very delicious juicy burgers. One of the best burgers I've had in the Sacramento area. The patties are thick and cooked to a beautiful medium/medium rare. Fries were tasty and generously portioned. The interior is cozy and has diner vibes. Staff was friendly and food came quickly. A great spot for a quick delicious meal.

Had a hankerin' for a juicy, large burger and since I was in the area, decided to try this place. It did not disappoint! I decided to try the Three Cheese burger. It did not take long for it to come out to the table once ordered inside at the counter. The brie, blue and provolone cheeses drenched the top of the meat. The bun was fresh and held together well. Lettuce, tomatoe, red onions and a delightful special sauce complimented the patty well. The patty was a decent size, a bit more than a quarter lb it seemed. Once I bit into it, the juice dripped out and all the cheeses made it so delicious! A side of perfectly fried, crinkle cut potatoes came with it. I was seated outside since I had my dog. They have a handful of tables outside and welcome dogs. The server was really friendly when he came out with my food. He even brought out water for my dog. I cannot wait to return!

Excellent food, service, ambience.Tried the Grilled cheese for a change.Price is right.Seating available even at the busy time.

Delicious food and outstanding service. Four of us went there today for lunch to celebrate my cousin's birthday. Skip and Tristan took great care of us, and even brought us a complimentary birthday cookie sandwich to share. Looking forward to going back.

Good service and always busy. Sandwiches and salads are very good. Great place to have a good lunch.
