Simple Pleasures Restaurant

Had some out of town guests who discovered Simple Pleasures while wandering around downtown Lincoln. They came back raving about the freshness and tastiness of their lunch. They liked it so much they returned twice more during their short visit.We figured we should go see what they were talking about.Went for lunch and were immediately greeted by a friendly young lady. The menu offered a variety of soups, salads and sandwiches. We each chose to go with a 1/2 soup and sandwich combo. Both 1/2 sandwiches were enough on their own and my 1/2 belt was on fresh wheat bread. The soup was a spicy Mexican tortilla soup which was both delicious and filling. To add a little crunch they served it with tortilla chips on the side. Prices were reasonable, the service was friendly and attentive.Needless to say this is now going to be a regular choice for us.

Ok last time, had the steak salad. Steak was actually rare like I asked for. 9 out of 10 places can't seem to do that.Today for me it was omelette with potatoes. My wife had veggie sandwich with potato salad. The sandwich was SUPER fresh. Sprouts were so good she said. Potato salad was extremely good. They actually sell it by the GALLON. Or quarter. We learned it from the owner who stopped by to say hello. Ok, the omelette is "pick three items and your cheese. Want more stuff, .50 each per item. Holy moly I hit the mother lode. Ham, mushrooms and Swiss. Everything was actually cooked. Not every place knows how to do that. The potatoes were a melody of small colored potatoes, cut in half and diced red peppers and onions plus spices. Oh my goodness, what goodness. The owner showed us where all the seating was and they try hard to recognize people and make them feel like family. Two waitresses, Kelly and Isabella recognized us after coming just once previously. Knew where we sat. Mind blown. Taste buds delighted. Wallet treated kindly.5 stars not enough to recognize this place. Now my ABSOLUTE favorite breakfast/lunch place this side of San Francisco. It may not look like all that from the outside. It's all that and then some.

We've been coming here for over twenty years and it's always sssooo good! Unfortunately, I posted my review under their catering page on Yelp many moons ago and now there's the listing for their restaurant. We always come for lunch and the Grass Root's sandwich is so darn good, we're all hooked! We've tried almost every sandwich here and they're all winners! They have the best homemade soups, sandwiches and fresh baked desserts. They recently started opening on the weekends too so that's a dream come true! Highly recommend you try Simple Pleasures, you'll be hooked!

Never disappoints! Love their chef and tuna salads, and their veggie sandwich is great too. Plan to try the 5th avenue burger soon, as I went to 5th avenue when I was younger. The restaurant is so cozy and gives you that friendly quaint feel. The owner is always there and kind and personable.

Always good. Never disappoints when we come here. The place is always clean, the service is always excellent and always a homey and friendly vibe. The apple pie is the best. Coffee is good. We love the breakfasts we've tried thus far. We have not had a chance to try a lot of their lunches yet, but the one sandwich and salad I've tried so far was delicious. We've also spoken to the owner a couple of times, and she is also just as attentive as her staff. Can't say enough good things about this place. Come out and support your local business.

So we were greeted immediately; told we could sit anywhere we like. Nice! Our server delivered our coffee and asked if we were ready to order.... I said I had a question. I asked which is more popular, the ricotta and berry pancakes with sausage or the biscuits and gravy. She said hold on, I'll be right back. The server disappeared momentarily and returned with a sample of gravy! Wow! What service. The gravy was good, but since I tried it I decided to go with the pancakes... As we waited we soaked up the old fashioned feel and ambiance of the place and enjoyed looking at the artwork that adorned the walls, which by the way is for sale. Breakfast was BOMB! Those ricotta berry cakes were awesome. The coffee was hot and tasty. The service was great! Overall, all I can say is that I highly recommend this place!!!

It's in old town with angled parking at the door. The taco salad and the burger ordered well done (came medium, red in the center) tastes good. The coffee was sent back.

Deliciousnesssss! We tried the club, hamburger, and a salad. Everything is super fresh and cooked to perfection. This is a wonderful establishment that treats their customers like family. The salads are amazing, lots of texture and homemade dressings! It is also in the cutest part of Lincoln.

Looks like simple pleasures got a new dishwasher seems to be a nice guy don't forget to try the Sean stake

Their food is their food is the best, always fresh & tasty. We frequently eat & do takeout also.
