Convenience at a Cost, Sans Diet Coke: My Shoppers Market SagaImagine a convenience store oasis amidst a concrete jungle of hotels and offices. That's Shoppers Market for you--where the prices are not budget friendly, but the mom-and-pop vibe warms your heart. Here's the drama: they don't stock Diet Coke. Picture me, on the verge of tears, facing this soda-less reality. Yet, amidst this tragedy, there was a silver lining. The staff here could give Disney characters a run for their money in the friendliness department, brightening your day. While the prices might have you doing a double-take, the ability to fill your hotel fridge with snacks and energy drinks without hotel price tag shock is the consolation prize. So, if you can overlook the absence of Diet Coke and are willing to pay a tad more for convenience and charm, Shoppers Market is your spot. Just realize you are paying a slightly higher price for convenience.

Great little corner store bodega, friendly shopkeepers Bobby & Lucky, good selection of emergency groceries, frozen food, beer wine and toiletries. Super convenient when you don't feel like driving to an actual grocery store. Pricing is comparable to any convenience store, ie not as low as a chain grocery or big box, but not sky high either. They are busy, and seem to know their local market. Kudos for carrying THE BEST GIANT ASS DIPPER incense & frozen vegan/vegetarian Amy's burritos. Please consider adding almond, oat or soy milks to your dairy case!

Nicest staff ever, always personable and quick to restock if they are out of an item. Literally one of my fav places ever because of the owner Bobby, and Lucky who is his right hand man

Any neighborhood market is generally overpriced for groceries but I will gladly pay more to pick up something quick with out having to drive to the store! I love that it's next door and makes for an easy walk when I'm craving treats! However, they lack soy or almond milk which is a bummer.

Good selection of sodas, beer, and other quick eats. We live close by so I walk here often to grab sodas if I'm out. They also have two freezers of ice cream too so usually end up getting some!

Let me preface this review by saying I was a huge fan and loyal customer to this place for 5 plus years until tonight. They are the closest place with a decent selection of good beer in single bottles (Lagunitas, Ninkasi, Sculpin, Etc). I routinely spend $100.00+ a month between beer, wine and other shit I don't need.Tonight I just wanted a Coca Cola, so I walked over to the Shoppers Market. Ain't gonna lie, I'm broke so I was looking for the most cost effective way to satiate my thirst for a Fucking Coca Cola. 2 liter for $2.48 out the door. I hand him my card and then the total comes up as $2.98. Turns out they have a charge for pin based purchases, which I never pay because they process my card as a credit card instead. So I asked him to run it as a credit card, like he always does. He says they have a $5.00 minimum purchase to run as a credit card. I tried to appeal to his reasonable side, asking him to waive the .50 or run it as a credit card. He declined. He won't get my hard earned $100.00 a month for anything ever again. Are business owners so out of touch they will burn a lucrative customer over fiddy cents?

This place sells Sierra Nevada Pale Ale at a great price.Everything else is marked up exponentially. For example, when I'm at work I pick up a bottle of smart water for .98 Cents...here it's $1.99 and what blows my mind is that they buy it from Walmart.Everything is like that, which probably wouldn't be a problem if they actually marked their prices. The assholes at the counter, either the younger kid always on his cell phone or the older dick, change the prices each time you grab something. I probably wouldn't notice if I was one of their crack-head alcoholic regulars but I'm not. In addition to their floating price system they charge you .50 Cents for each Debit card transaction and try to force you to use it- especially If you buy less than $5 worth of stuff. For example, today I went to buy a bag of chips (marked 2.00 on the bag) and a Smart water (.98 cents at every other store) plus the ATM fee and the total was $4.78 for something that should have been closer to $3.19.

I used to live a few blocks away from here and visited this store regularly. Their staff is friendly and personable and they have a decent selection of beer, wine, and normal convenience store items. For those complaining their prices are higher than the grocery store or Wal-mart, be realistic. Stores like this do not have the sales volume of those stores and have to mark up their prices. Hence, they are a convenience store... You pay more for the convenience. And, every mom and pop shop like this in Sac has similar prices. Sad, to see the reviews affected by this.

Nice market. Their prices are outrageously expensive. They have no real competition on the west side of Petaluma so I suppose that's how they get away with it.
