Food: Second time here. Came her at the recommendation of korean and korean-american work colleagues. They said it was the closest to mom's. Well, I don't have a korean mom, but I guess I agree! Excellent, tasty food. It taste made to order. Doesn't feel like slop put into a bowl or plate like you can get at some "fast casual" asian joints. My first time I had the bibimbop. That was delicious. There was enough for two. Admittedly, I was more curious about the soups! So, I came here a second time after going to the breweries in RC (highly rec'd btw) I came here with a date and we split the ox bone and soft tofu soups. Boy, was that a treat. It's was like a warm punch in the belly from the soup your mom makes when you feel ill. The ox bone had this intense umami flavor while the tofu gave me that heat that I want in a spicy soup (so be careful). With the ox bone, I rec'd you add some salt.Ambiance: It's a fast, casual eatery. Seems to catch a fair amount of koreans, which I always interpret as a good sign lol. Tl;dr - This place is dope. If you want some high quality korean food and you're in the area, I rec'd.

First timer here and in the area. It was Valentine's Day and knowing how packed places can get, we were lucky to come across this place. There is a Korean BBQ right next door, but if you want to portion out your in take this place is where you may want to be. Banchon/Fried Dumplings - 9/10 all the side dishes always hit. The only different was the half boiled potatoes that was covered in something sweet. My hubby loved it, it wasn't for me. The dumplings, I appreciated them to scoop up the Tteokbokki sauce. Yang Yum Chicken wings - 8/10 honest, some great cooked chicken. I will say, if you're going to eat Tteokbokki, don't get the wings because it almost taste the same in sauce. But other than that, that chicken was fried up RIGHT! Ox Bone soup - 8/10 this isn't my first time eating this soup and it wasn't bad, but it tasted wayyyy to watery. I mean I did still eat it all Tteokbokki - 10/10 the ratio of this serving was GREAT! If you get it, then you get it. We at IT ALL

Only five stars, because I can't give more. After trying to go to a couple of other Korean places, I ended up here. I went to the. Korean barbecue on Folsom between Watt and Howe, and I was treated very rudely.(see separate review...) I remembered that there was a new Korean barbecue in this shopping center, but even though there were "grand opening" signs on the building, apparently it's already gone out of business. In this case, the third try was *DEFINITELY* the charm. I had an absolutely amazing meal.I walked in, and while the place was busy, I was seated quickly. Everybody I dealt with was friendly. I decided to go for my old standby, the bibimbap. They offer it several different ways, hot, cold, spicy, with seafood, with tofu or beef. I chose the hot bibimbap, non-spicy, with beef. I also asked for my. Banchan, (sides), to be non-spicy.The sides were absolutely wonderful! I'm not sure what everything was, but everything was amazing. The fish cakes and one of the other sides was a tiny bit spicy, but well within what I like for spice. My two absolute favorite were the fish cakes and the coleslaw. The fish cakes had a good texture and were not overly fishy, and the coleslaw was creamy and delicious. I asked for seconds on the fish cakes and coleslaw, and they said no problem. As I mentioned, they were busy, and it did take a little while to get my main course. It was well worth the wait. The bowl of food came, and it was. *SIZZLING!* It stayed that way for a while. I haven't heard that good of a sizzle since the last time I had fajitas. My server was nice enough to warn me that the bowl was hot, but I could easily see (and hear) that. :) The beef had so much flavor, and they were very generous with everything in the bowl. Not only that, but the rice was wonderfully crusty on the bottom. All of the ingredients played very well with each other. There were two very minor things that do not warrant taking off a star. For me, I wish the egg would've had a little bit more yolk to it, as I love popping the yolk and having it drip down into my food. There was some, I just wish there could've been more. I realize everybody is different. For my partner, it would've been just right. The other thing was, and again, I realize everybody is different, but to me, with the exception of the beef, the food needed to be seasoned just a tiny bit more. (To be fair, It may have been because I ordered it non-spicy... ) There was not only pepper, but there was also sea salt on the table, which was great. Sea salt really adds a good flavor, so much more than plain table salt. I just had water for my beverage, so for this amazing meal, it was only $21 before tip. Absolutely worth it. This has to have been one of the best bibimbaps I have had in a long time, possibly ever. Will I be back? You bet your sweet bippy !!! Thank you.

I was in Rancho Cordova looking for somewhere to eat and saw Seoulzip on Yelp. I tried the Ox Bone Soup and the Soft Tofu Soup (mushroom, medium spice). Overall, I really enjoyed my meal. I've been looking for a good tofu soup since the place I loved closed. This was the best one I've had since then, but there was a flavor to the soup that I didn't particularly love; it reminded me a bit of an instant noodle flavoring. The Ox Bone Soup tasted clean. The menu specifies you season it (by adding salt) to your liking. Unfortunately, after ordering, they came out to say they were out of the standard noodles they include with the soup, and subbed it with glass noodles instead. I enjoyed all the banchan (side dishes). They provided complimentary tea, which was very welcomed and appreciated. (I've been to handful of Korean restaurants that do this, but most do not.) Service didn't seem very friendly at first, but they were nice throughout the meal. While not very attentive, they were kind when we asked for a tea refill and the check. Interior didn't appear that spacious, but upon sitting down I saw they had enough tables/chairs to seat probably around 70 people. Good food! I would return to try more menu items.

First time here and was seated quickly. Bright lighting in the restaurant. Service was quick as well. I ordered the LA galbi which comes with a bowl of rice and the banchan sides. LA galbi comes out on a sizzling hot place. I wasn't a fan of most of the banchan sides. I think it's on the pricier side with the LA galbi being around $33.

I go eat at this place so many time, this is the first time it's so disappointed and I probably won't come back here again. We usually have many side dishes, it's my favorite part of eating Korean food. Today I came like normally I order 2 dishes, but we only have the side dishes like in the picture, in which 2 of them I couldn't eat, so I ask to switch out. We couldn't refill it either, and the side dishes had clearly 1 bite, the bill was almost $60, but she said because of what I ordered I could only have this much??? I came here so many times, it was never like this. Why change? So disappointed.....

This was my first visit to Seoul Zip Korean Restaurant. I was immediately seated at a table when we arrived. The menu was organized into categories to help guide your choice. The waitress asked my party if we wanted hot tea or ice water. They brought the hot tea to the table and provided a water canister and two cups. I love when a restaurant allows us to serve ourselves water when we need it, especially when spicy dishes are on the menu. I wanted to order a couple dishes to try and eat family style. We opted for the beef doslot bibimbap and the don katsu. I had originally wanted the sweet potato cheese don katsu but unfortunately it wasn't available (the waitress did mention that it might not be available on the weekend). I'm not sure if it was sold out or what. The waitress brought out seven different banchans before our order was ready. The flavor in the banchans were decent, but I will say I have tasted a more balanced profile of flavors at other restaurants. The banchan here is just middle of the road (I will mention my sister was pleased with the taste). Once we placed our order the food arrived promptly. The don katsu had a heaping side salad and the dressing was like a creamy French dressing. They were very generous with the dressing so if you don't like too much, I would ask for it on the side. I'm glad the dish came with a side of white rice. The don katsu was fried perfectly and it tasted delicious. I could actually smell the sweetness of the katsu sauce when the dish was first placed in front of me. The bibimbap was served in a stone pot and the when it arrived, the waitress made sure to remind us that it was extremely hot. The toppings of the bibimbap were fresh and delicious. The fried egg was cooked nicely. The portion was worth the price for both meals.I was really looking forward to trying that sweet potato cheese don katsu, so I removed one star from the overall review based on the unavailability and the average banchan. I'll be back to taste that dish and give it another review.

I have been meaning to go to this place, I have finally done it! We arrived around 2pm on a Saturday and this place was bustling. There were only a few empty tables so we were seated right away. This place is very family oriented, so my loud kids felt at home right away. Lol. There was a great deal of banchan assortment. We ordered a pork bone soup and a fish bone soup. The broth were very flavorful! Service was friendly and timely. We will definitely be back.

Authentic Korean food with relaxing and clean ambiance. The seafood pancake was light and crispy, not greasy at all. All dishes tasted fresh and well seasoned. Will come back to try their fried chicken!
